I absolutely love poetry collections, and this has become one of my favourites. It was written beautifully and kept me engaged from start to finish. I’m excited to read more from the author in the future.

I enjoyed the strange prose in this book, however at times it felt dry and disjointed. I don't expect poetry to always make sense, but it was quite difficult to get properly into each poem due to this disjointedness, but also because the ebook formatting was really bad. I'm not sure if this is intentional? Perhaps an attempt to show an unhinged mind? I don't know, but I do know that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I had hoped to.

Thank you NetGalley for an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

I rated this book 2 stars. There were a few of these poems I genuinely did like such as Aspiration 1960 and Grass 1967, but for the most part I just could not connect with the majority.

My experience with these lyrics is that just as I would get a grasp of a meaning or metaphor something nonsensical and random would be added - usually in the last line. I'm not sure if that was the point or perhaps the meaning has gone over my head.

Regardless, I overall found the writing disjointed and found myself frustrated as any sense of meaning seemed to just flee from my grasp at the last second. I truly wanted to like this. The poems cover grief, depression and more topics which I should have connected to. Therefore, I have rated 2 stars.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC to review!

3 stars!

I loved how this included some sort of mixed media for the poems before revealing them
Very different when used and I really liked it. The poems themselves weren't my taste hut I enjoyed the concept and execution.

i really wanted to like this, there were some parts in enjoyed but ultimately this fell flat for me. the concept is so interesting. i think the syntax wasn’t right for me, i felt like i was waiting for another layer to be revealed but it never came

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I did enjoy the writing style, themes and the images that accompany this collection. But, I think a lot of this went over my head. I really tried to sit and think about this whilst I was reading, but I always ended up lost in it.

If you are a more advanced poetry reader, this may be much easier for you.

I will give this 3.5 stars because I did think it was beautiful to read, I just missed a lot of the imagery and meaning in it myself.
