The book lays out a structured and data-heavy approach to strategy, centred around the 4Ds framework. It reads like a manual for senior leaders looking to tighten how they execute on value creation, especially with a focus on measurable outcomes. That said, the writing can feel more like a consulting slide deck turned into prose. There are useful models, but they are not especially original, and the tone can be repetitive. Worth a skim if you work in strategy or corporate planning, but not much here that pushes the thinking forward.

Nice book on strategy which I enjoyed reading. The book is a comprehensive collection of useful frameworks, information and guides to deal with strategy as a concept, understand how strategic view can impact your own job as a leader and also how to lead your team towards successful strategy execution. The number of frameworks suggested has a broad coverage of strategic topics. There is a focus on strategic value creation that helps to grasp the objective of any strategy: where you are now, what you want to achieve and how the results will look like including the value you would like to observe.

A well-presented, well-researched and data-backed book for leaders, senior managers, and those who wish to gain deeper insights into value creation for their organisations. The writers build the main argument of the book around the 4D framework, which is explained in detail with data, graphs and examples in this book.

I particularly found the charts and the graphs helpful.
