Can’t believe we are up to book 20 in this series….. Despite having had many travails in her life, Josie is a strong, capable, likable, although vulnerable, female protagonist. The fast paced mysterious plot has twists and turns; I spent the first half of the book wondering what the heck was going on it was so baffling. Loved getting drawn into the storyline and fully recommend this full series.

This is book #20 of the Detective Josie Quinn series. Whilst it is part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone book, although I would recommend reading it in series order for better understanding of the back stories. We are back in the town of Denton where a traffic accident has turned into a murder case. We are brought straight into the action with Josie and her team, and whilst Josie and her husband Noah have issues at home which they need to focus on, they find themselves caught up in looking for the killer.

I've really enjoyed this series and it was great to be back with Josie and the team. Josie is such a likeable character with such grit and determination but you can't help but feel for her with everything that has happened over the course of the series. Her and the team are still feeling the loss of one of their colleagues, and the new replacement, Turner is doing nothing to help that loss! Whilst Turner doesn't comes across as a team player, I do hope that he stays and begins to fit in more as there is something about him that I quite like (please don't prove me wrong!!).

The storyline has plenty of gripping action and is full of suspense as to who the killer could be. It followed a good pace and the plot unfolded as it moved along. The storyline certainly gets you thinking as to what is going to happen and we are treated to plenty of twists and turns throughout. Another great addition to the series. Would recommend!

Her Dying Secret is another page turner, a hold your breath, nail biting read in the Josie Quinn series.

It's hard to believe its Book 20, I feel like I just met Josie, laughed and cried with her and even got mad when she put her own safety at risk.

Her Dying Secret has Josie is called out to a fatal car accident but as always its just not that simple.

The woman' death is just the start of a very complicated case that Josie, Gretchen and Noah are working diligently to solve the case as they race against the clock.

Turner, the new member of the team is a piece of work, but I have hope for him and it adds a great aspect to the story.

Lisa Regan always does an amazing job of getting you hooked from the first to the last page and Her Dying Secret is no exception.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for another exciting case for Josie Quinn.

Lisa Regan continues to surprise me! This is the 20th book in the Detective Josie Quinn Series (How is it #20 already?) and I was completely shocked with this ending. I literally had no clue what was happening from one page to the next. Pick this one up for an amazing page-turner. Five stars!

Lisa Regan's "Her Dying Secret" marks the 20th installment in the beloved Josie series, and while it wasn't my favourite read, I still couldn't put it down.

Returning to the world of Josie, Noah, and the team feels like reuniting with old friends, and I absolutely love that familiarity.

I still really need to know Dan Lamay's back story!!

4 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Special thanks to Netgalley for providing the advanced copy.

This was an intricate story with lots of moving parts and one hell of a plot twist that I did not see coming! I'm kind of proud of myself when I figure out the whodunit before it's revealed, but that did not happen this time. So, Bravo to the author for that, because I'm pretty good at figuring it out...usually! The story was a little confusing to me sometimes, keeping track of who was who and how they were related to everyone and there was a bit too much detail sometimes that I skimmed over, but overall, it was one hell of a story that had my full attention from start to finish. There are two recurring characters in the series now that I'm very curious about and how their stories will play out. Sawyer, who is the sort of brother to Josie, and the new detective Turner. The author wrote them in this story in a way that leads the reader to believe that more of them will be revealed in upcoming books, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. I feel like I know these characters really well and I'm fully invested in their lives. Not many book series can make it to 20 books and keep my attention, but Lisa Regan absolutely can.

This is a complex case that is very puzzling, but indeed intriguing. There are many special characters in this book, they are complex, flawed, and life has not been treating them with kid gloves. There are many twists and turns in this book, and once you think you have figured it out your realize you have not.

I felt like these characters in the book were a bit different, not the most common ones that come up in every other book. Lisa Regan has really been able to get these characters realistic, vivid, and somehow so human with their problems and pasts. It is hard to tell more about this book without giving away anything from the plot.

So, what else can I say? A great book to dive into and it won't leave you cold. Read it!

Book 20 in this well written, popular series is just as fresh as book 1 with it's fast pacing and assorted cast of characters. I really like the characterisation, apart from Turner who drives me mad with his comments! The plotting was full of twists and there is plenty of action to interest the reader from the first page right until the last. If you haven't discovered this series, I highly recommend it to lovers of crime thrillers. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

After the last book, I was a bit disappointed with the direction of Josie’s and Noah’s personal story; however, in this book, I quickly got over it. With a dead woman, another suffering from memory loss, and plenty of additional characters with unknown intentions, this made for a great read. The intricate plot unfolded gradually, and I liked how the thorough investigations of Josie and her team slowly revealed the full picture. The book had plenty of action, in a good way. While Josie, Noah, and Gretchen worked great together as always, the same can’t be said of the new team member Turner. He was portrayed quite unlikable (or rather infuriating), though I suspect there may be more to his character yet to be revealed.
The final twist of this book I did not see coming, something I always enjoy! Even after twenty books, I still can’t wait for the next one.
I would like to thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author Lisa Regan for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to Lisa and NetGalley for allowing me to read Her Dying Secret before the publication date.

As usual with the series, the author wastes no time before the reader is thrown into the fast paced story.

Josie and Noah are on the path to adoption and are spending their day off preparing the house for their first home visit by the adoption agency.

This is interrupted when Josie receives a call requesting that she attend a fatal road accident. On arrival, she realises that this is much more complicated than a road accident.

As she starts the investigation, Josie finds herself having to contend with a new team member, Detective Kyle Turner, aka the Invisible Man, aka the Scarlet Pimpernel.
Turner is lazy, arrogant, rude and chauvinistic, dripping cringeworthy acid barbs coated in honey every time he speaks. Can he be trusted?
Yet he seems to have the backing of senior officers.

The multitude of twists, turns and red herrings were more than enough to keep me guessing.

"Her Dying Secret" by Lisa Regan had me absolutely hooked right from the start! I mean, seriously, every time I crack open a Detective Josie Quinn book, I'm simultaneously excited and nervous about what's going down in Denton. And let me tell you, this one didn't disappoint!

From the very first page, I was completely sucked in. The evolution of Josie's character throughout the series? Mind-blowing! She's been through so much growth, heartache, and drama, and it's all so unputdownable. And her empathy for the victims? Major props!

But let's talk about Josie's squad for a minute. They're not just colleagues; they're basically like family, and I love how they've all evolved since the first book. But okay, let's dish about the new guy, Detective Kyle Turner. Ugh, talk about frustrating! He's all arrogant and rude, and don't even get me started on his inappropriate behavior. But it definitely adds some drama to the mix!

Now, the mystery in this one? It's off the charts! So many suspects, so little evidence. I was guessing until the very end. And Lisa Regan's writing? It flows beautifully, pulling readers deeper into the mystery with each turn of the page. Seriously, I couldn't put it down!

"Her Dying Secret" is a total page-turner that'll have you glued to your seat. Can't wait for the next one! Lisa Regan just keeps knocking it out of the park with each book, and I'm here for it!

Book 20 and still one of my favorite series. You would think after this many books, things would start to get boring, but nope not with Josie around.
The action starts from page one and never lets up. It is so emotional seeing how Josie and the others are still dealing with the loss of such a wonderful member of the team. I am still not sure about this new member, he is so not likeable, lol. I have a feeling that he is going to become needed and respected at some point, and hopefully he will lose his attitude.

The only bad thing about Josie Quinn books, once you open it, you will not put it down. That makes it last only a day, i wish i could drag her books out to last forever(or at least til the next one comes out).

Many thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this onel

I loved Her Dying Secret (Detective Josie Quinn Book 20) by Lisa Regan. It was so good to be back with familiar characters and some of my favorite characters.

Her Dying Secret was a heart-racing crime and mystery thriller.

Josie is thrust right into a murder mystery. It was supposed to be a routine road accident recovery, but the moment Detective Josie Quinn sees the passenger, a sharp tool lodged in her stomach, it’s clear she was the victim of something far more sinister. Watching the driver taken away in an ambulance, questions spin through Josie’s mind. Where were these two women going? Was the driver trying to save a life or hide a body? There were so many good twists, and it was hard to put this book down.

Detective Kyle Turner, the new team member, is so frustrating. He is inappropriate in his dealings with the female characters, and he is arrogant and rude, as the characters describe him. But it was fun to witness and see how Josie, Nick, and especially Gretchen handled him. I love Gretchen; she is funny.

I would recommend starting this series from book 1 and getting to know the characters' backgrounds. I would recommend this book and this author. I cannot wait for more in this series.

This is the 20th Josie Quinn book and I have loved every one. You could read this as a standalone but knowing the background history of the characters makes it so much better.
Josie is called to the site of a crash but finds a murder victim in the car. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise to me ending.

Her Dying Secret
by Lisa Regan
Pub Date: May 14, 2024
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.
An absolutely gripping and truly unputdownable crime thriller that will have you racing through pages until the final jaw-dropping twist hits you like a train. From an Amazon, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, and perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Rachel Caine.
New author for me and I will be sure to read them in order. This is the 20th installment in this series.
This book was an intricate police procedural with so series action and a tightly woven mystery. The characters are the heart of the mystery are not as they appear in the beginning. You come across an accident with 2 victims who seemingly don’t know each other, and one is deceased and the other knows nothing. In your mind you start to build a narrative and then you scrap the entire narrative because the author is full of surprises which she unleashes in this book.
Great book!

Her Dying Secret is book 20 of the Josie Quinn series and just like the other books in the series was an amazing read! I found it to be a page turner and with a lot of twists that i didn’t see coming. The plot was great, the story flowed beautifully and the suspense and mystery was intricately woven into the story. I loved seeing Josie and Noah, who are total couple goals! Even when going through the hardest of times and facing more bad news Josie continuously attempts to pick up the pieces of her life, to be better than she ever has been, she never gives up. Josie inspires me and i have to say this was such an intriguing and unique read- the suspense was on point and i didn’t see the complete picture at all. Josie continually impress me with how she think and how the puzzle comes together for her. I love reading this step by step and experiencing it like you’re standing next to Josie as everything is happening. That’s how good Lisa’s writing is you legitimately feel like you’re right there whilst the events are happening. I loved seeing my favourite secondary characters- Noah, Gretchen, Chief Chitwood and who doesn’t love Trout! So far i’m having a really hard time liking the new guy but i can see something coming, i just have no idea what it is.
I’m a Josie Quinn series fanatic and i don’t see myself ever missing a book by Lisa Regan because her work continuously impresses me! Bring on book 21!

Her Dying Secret Detective Josie Quinn Book 20 by Lisa Regan

The drama sets up right from the first chapter and doesn’t let up as Josie and the team try to puzzle the pieces together in this winning read. However, for Josie the pressures aren’t only on the work front, there’s added pressures on the home front, and it all adds to the mayhem of bullets and bodies. The complexity of this story and well developed characters will keep you guessing until the end.
