I preface my review by saying I did not read the first book, so there is some break in continuity.

That said, the back and forth between time periods threw me off. I also felt the female characters Naeve and Siena were very insecure, uncommunicative amd emotionally volatile.

The writing was also very choppy and not exactly the style I prefer. So 9verall a decent read but not my favorite. Maybe I'll try it in audio.

This was a strong sequel in the Always and Forever Trilogy series, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed from the first book. The characters were everything that I wanted and enjoyed from the genre. I enjoyed the way Vera Bell wrote this and left me wanting to read more.

Into The Lure of Time is book 2 in the Always and Forever series and this picks off right where we left off with the first. The way that Vera writes is so vivid and so beautiful—you feel like you are placed right in the middle of the beautiful setting/backdrop she gives us in Ireland giving you that *oh so obsessed outlander vibe for me*. I wanted to stay in this story forever and never leave. The characters in this are well fleshed out, their chemistry, connections and dialogue are perfection! This book gives our favorite…different timelines and they flowed flawlessly.

I literally refuse to choose which character or set of characters I love them all equally for all different reasons because they each bring something to these books that just makes it so wonderful. I loved the romance, revenge and the twists and turns that we have throughout this book that keeps you on your toes along the entire way. BEWARE…this book will leave you with an awful hangover and thinking about the book for days long after you’ve finished. Vera was one of my very first authors I ever ARC read for and I will forever reach for her work.

Thank you @netgalley, @timeboundpuishing and the author of this book for an opportunity to review this e-ARC.

Into the Lure of Time by Vera Bell is the second book in the Always and Forever trilogy. For me above all the other genres it crosses it is a time travel romance although it pulls on elements from other genres.
Aeden and Neave find themselves separated by the government as the English crown forces Aeden under duress to divorce Neave and agree to an arranged marriage. Understandably, Neave spirals and makes a rash decision to marry his enemy, who, of course, is a huge jerk.
In the modern timeline, Sienna and Ryan are trying to make long-distance work with a new baby and his high-pressure FBI job. Sienna also spirals echoing Neave and makes a huge mistake.
There wasn't as much action as in the first novel but so much angst. I was riveted and mortified by the actions of the characters. I wanted to throw my phone so many times. However, I couldn't put it down. I read the whole thing in two days.
Neave was impulsive and Sienna was so insecure they caused their own problems by not communicating with their partners and making their situations worse. It felt very human reading about their very imperfect journeys. It felt like reading a lesson in how not to be in a marriage.
Ryan/Aeden's feelings read almost like obsession and need rather than forgiveness which might take a little longer given the situation. I can't wait to read what's next.
Thank you to Netgalley for the Arc. This review was given voluntarily and all views expressed are my own.
