This a=was a very topical read, given the events of October last year. I'm into political thrillers anyway (especially if they feature such things as special ops or intelligence officers) and I found this book to be a very easy read. There's plenty of action right from the offing - although it's all too easy to believe that this could happen! (or has already happened, partially.)

While the storyline is compelling, especially since October 7, 2023, I only wish the characters of Angel and Bear would have been more developed. That could have provided more of a back story for both characters and would have made the story stronger. It was only towards the last part of the book that I became really involved with each and began to care for the outcome of both. I received an ARC from NetGalley, and the opinions expressed are my own.
