I got this book specifically because the premise I thought would be perfect to appeal to my classroom. It was a good book and would definitely consider adding it to my classroom library.

'The Backyard Gang'' by Alex C James is an easy to read lower middle grade story. It's set up for easy reading with large font, lots of white space, and strategic use of bold text. I think a more professional cover should have been used.

The Backyard Gang is a middle grade book featuring a group of kids who find a treasure chest of costumes. Dressing up, they imagine stories of dragons and kings and princesses! Unfortunately this book did not meet my expectations. I found it quite boring. The plot had great potential, and could have been much more exciting and fast paced. I also could not stand one character.
