Fulgar Geth can heal butterflies and people. He and his best friend Binny turn to a life of crime, though, as they search for a powerful talisman. When a series of events separates Fulgar and Binny, Fulgar descends into a depression that threatens his love with Jinx and his life. He must decide if joining a secret Order is right for him and how far he'll go to fight the dark forces.
I really like the subdued faith element of this story. It inspires readers to see the light in others and look for ways to heal and bless rather than curse and destroy.
The friendship theme is also positive and uplifting.
The fantasy elements are not my usual style, but I did enjoy the author's storytelling.

Definitly a dark fantasy, I loved the magic system and the story Fulgar Geth and his strange abilities.. It gave the Doctor Who vibes and I love Doctor Who.. Also one of the things I loved it was the mental health exploration I think it was very important and of course all the story

I enjoyed this book, and it was a fun ride. I haven't read the main series, so I felt as if I were missing some of the back story and world building. I wanted to now more about the characters. Still, this book was a fun action / and / fantasy, and it drew me in. There were a lot of details, and I appreciated the effort the author put into this book. It's definitely a story about friendship, bonds, loss, love, and growth. I enjoyed the journey and will check out the other books in this series.
