There is something about a school friend reunion that is just so appealing. This time the gathering is the golden couple from school’s wedding however the old friends are there, including the head cheerleader! The accidental marriage in Vegas is a cliche, but that really doesn’t matter. The book is fun, full of the sights and smells of Istanbul and whilst there is a business deal on the side, it doesn’t really come into the plot. This is a good old fashioned romance where the characters are front and centre. Hannah and Alden are great, they are both endearing and it makes this romance a nice and easy one to get into.

More romance than spice, suits the genre but could have had a little sex scene thrown in for us :)
Characters are cute and would be a nice introductory book to the genre.

This has such a fabulous premise, but was for me incredibly disappointing.. it’s well written, but sadly felt like it was written for 12-year-olds rather than adults. Neither the hero or the heroine are shy, innocent teenagers and yet that’s how they behave for the entire book. There was absolutely no sex between the hero and heroine, not even closed door, and in the context of the story and the characters, it made no sense whatsoever that they could have avoided it during the story.

They circled round each other like a couple of teenagers who had no idea about anything and the heroine’s constant interior monologue about hiding her responses and her refusal to be anything other than business like with Alden just irritated me beyond belief.. as did his ‘ I’m damaged and not worthy’ angst.

I’m sorry, but this story just wasn’t for me, but it is well written and then I’m sure we’ll appeal to those readers who like this kind of romance. The author does a very good job of conveying the magic of Istanbul but I would’ve liked a little more insight into the magic, that is Turkey and its people. .
