I wanted to like this book, but I struggled through the whole thing. This reminded me of Hancock, where the two had to separate themselves or they both would suffer. Their relationship felt more like a trauma bond than genuine attraction to the other.

I read the synopsis and was very intrigued, It started off very fast-paced for me and I was gripped. I wanted to know what was going to happen to Oliver and Nina. The first chapter had me reading and wanting more. I desperately wanted to know would Oliver and Nina get a happy ending at all, even separately if needed? I was intrigued and enjoyed the twists the author kept throwing in.

Firstly, a huge thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for allowing me access to this ARC.

I read the synopsis and was hooked. It started off very fast-paced for me and I was gripped. I wanted to know what was going to happen to Oliver and Nina. How would their paths crossed change this story.

It was a book I don’t think I’ve read before - the premise had me reading and wanting more. I wanted to know where the characters would end up, would Oliver and Nina get a happy at all, even separately if needed?

I was intrigued and enjoyed the twists the author kept throwing in. I had many questions throughout but I have to say, I struggled with the second half. I felt it dragged a little.

I did enjoy the book but I feel it could’ve been a little shorter.

The ending though, very good.

To be honest.. I'm still in shock... I do not remember reading a book for a very long time that really got me wanting to know what was going on and the direction it took me was a very different one than I was thinking about it.. So we have Ollie that has an accident and sadly he finds himself disable and needs a wheel chair.. While he's in the hospital he cross path with Nina a woman he met in the bar the night of the accident, they start talking and end up getting close. Also he starts having dreams with her. They start a relationship and I loved the fact of the problems between couples was mentioned, that was very important, insecurities, drug abuse, family losses, depression.
The direction of the book? Chips and dreams and family secrets... I was hooked to be honest and yes I loved the end and the book really surprised me

Intense, mysterious, and gripping, 'The Girl in My Dreams' keeps the reader guessing throughout.
Packed with suspense, this book combines romance with medical realism and supernatural elements, thus creating a rather surreal atmosphere.

Delving into the dreams of a man who is forced to accept his newfound disability in the aftermath of a terrible accident - is not only compelling reading, but well-researched, and sensitively crafted.
The lead characters are believably flawed beings battling mental and physical trauma; the complex love between them providing hope in an otherwise difficult situation.

The writing style is engaging, with an eerie sense of dread cleverly woven throughout. There were genuinely creepy moments, that had me a little unnerved - likely heightened by my decision to read this in the dead of night!

Overall, I found it impossible to put this book down, I was so heavily invested in the unfurling of the mystery, and the wellbeing of the protagonists.
Laden with unpredictable twists and turns, those who enjoy romantic suspense are sure to discover something surprising within these pages!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley, for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5/5 ⭐️ rating. I was super intrigued by the blurb for this book & I’m glad pick this one up! It was a little slow initially & I did have some trouble attaching to the romance. It happens fairly quickly & I’m more of a slow burn kinda gal. Despite some holes for a few things that didn’t quite make sense for me, I enjoyed the ending. It was a fairly unique plot line & overall enjoyed this read!

Thank you to NetGalley, Crane and Leeu Press, and Jeanné Olivier for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

Intense and intriguing 🤔

This book isn’t something I would usually go to pick up. But the blurb and the cover really hooked me.

I can very happily say that I was not disappointed with this book in the slightest!

There was so many twists and turns that it constantly kept me on the edge of my seat and left me desperately reading on because I needed to know what was happening!

When Nina and Oliver meet, it's quick, but it's love at first sight. But the feeling is short lived because the same night, they are both involved in an accident, Oliver crashing his motorcycle in Nina's car. They both end up in a coma at the hospital, and Oliver wakes up first after seeing Nina in his dreams. As he drifts in and out of consciousness, he gets to spend more time with her, but as he is getting better, even if he is still paralyzed, Nina remains in a coma. Somehow, their fate seems connected, but how much?
This is a new adult romantic suspense, and althoug it did pull me right in at first, it quickly lost it's effect. It started dragging really quick and kept on dragging for a very long while and completely lost my interest by the first third. And I don't even want to talk about the ending. What the heck? It didn't make any sense. Clearly, this book was not for me, but I have read many fantastic reviews, so it might just be for you!
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I’ve never been engrossed in a book as much I was with this one. It’s surprised me, I thought it was a simple romance book but it was so much more. The plot twist towards the end is everything!

I really enjoyed the style of writing too, as it meant I could easily read through the book without stopping or getting easily confused (which happens a lot with certain proses)

I enjoyed the characters, especially some of the side characters. Got slightly annoyed with the FMC but I kinda understand why she was the way she was and poor Ollie, he went through the works didn’t he?

Either way, I’ve never read a book so fast and got so GRIPPED as I constantly wanted to read more and more.

The Girl in My Dreams

by Jeanné Olivier (Goodreads Author)

Read

This book had me hooked from the very first page. I fell in love with it and I know it's going to be one of those books that are going to be stuck in my head for weeks, maybe months.

This story starts with Nina and Oliver who have this instant soul connection. They only talk for a barely a minute but it was enough. Later in the night they are both in an accident that causes a bunch of complications, budding relationships, and mind fucks.

I was thoroughly intrigued, confused, awed, and a whole bunch of other emotions during this rollercoaster ride. I didn't see some parts coming but each new revelation had me hooked deeper.

So I read the blurb on this book and it caught my interest. Man did I know expect this book to keep me guessing the entire time! I knew that Oliver and Nina were somehow linked, but I did not see that ending coming. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. Everytime I thought I had something figured out, there would be a plot twist. There were points during this book where I questioned how the story would end. Nina and Oliver have quite the roller coaster of a relationship. I also thought at one point that it would all be a dream. I had so many questions during this book and it kept my interest. I did find Nina’s chaotic nature slightly annoying at time, but who can blame her with her history. And while it was a journey to get there, the end was worth it.

Not at all what I expected. Strange story but held my attention to the end which I didn't see coming. let's talk about those plot twists! Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Olivier threw in another curveball that left me reeling. The revelations about Oliver and Nina's shared dreams had me questioning everything I thought I knew about their relationship.

What a book! A romantic suspense with a slightly paranormal twist? I think it's best going into the book blindly and just be absorbed by the story. There were several twists and a great romance. I could never guess what was coming and I loved every second of it.

"The Girl in my Dreams" by Jeanne Olivier had me completely engrossed from the get-go. As someone who loves a good blend of romance and suspense, this book hit all the right notes for me.
From the moment Oliver, the up-and-coming rock star, meets Nina at the club, I could feel the sparks flying off the page. But then, the unexpected happens—a car crash leaves Oliver injured and Nina in a coma. Talk about a plot twist!
As Oliver grapples with his recovery, his vivid dreams of Nina add an intriguing layer of mystery to the story. I found myself eagerly turning the pages, desperate to uncover the secrets lurking within their shared dreams.
What really grabbed my attention was the way Olivier skillfully built tension and suspense throughout the book. With each chapter, I was on the edge of my seat, wondering what would happen next and how Oliver and Nina's story would unfold.
But it wasn't just the suspense that kept me hooked—the romance between Oliver and Nina was incredibly compelling. Despite the obstacles they faced, their connection felt genuine and heartfelt, making me root for them every step of the way.
And let's talk about those plot twists! Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Olivier threw in another curveball that left me reeling. The revelations about Oliver and Nina's shared dreams had me questioning everything I thought I knew about their relationship.

Overall, "The Girl in my Dreams" is a rollercoaster of emotions—a gripping love story with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. If you're a fan of romance and suspense, this book is an absolute must-read. Trust me, you won't be able to put it down!

Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for a review.

Before we start this review, please remember this is my own opinion on the version of this book I received so please take it with a pinch of salt.
I’ll be keep this review on the shorter side this time. The cover of this book was interesting to me and the blurb interested me as well so I knew I had to give this a go.

I would say I quite enjoyed this book and it was an interesting read to me. However, in saying that, I did feel like it took me quite a bit to get into especially with the first chapter because it was so fast paced so I would have appreciated some more details, feeling/emotion and such just so I could really feel the scene as I read but other then that I thought this was a good book,

I would give this 3.5 out of five stars.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the early arc of this book!
I thought it was great! Fast-paced in the beginning, but it took me a while to get into it. The middle chunk was much slower so it was harder to get through, and the twist toward the end was insane. I wasn't expecting it to go that way at all, and I was completely shocked. I'd absolutely recommend this one.

This had that element of romance that I was looking for and thought the overall story worked with this type of book. The characters had that feel that I was looking for and thought it worked well together. Jeanne Olivier writes a strong book that worked with the genre perfectly.
