Before reading my review, know that I have not read any other books in the Rebel Blue Ranch series so I am not comparing this book to the others in the series, I am rating this purely as a standalone.

Unfortunately, as you can see by my rating, this was not the book for me. Even after two chapters I was considering dnfing but I pushed through hoping it would get better.

I did not like Gus’ character in the slightest. In the beginning he had such a temper that it made me want to never pick up the book again, I would have guessed he was a teenager and not in his mid-thirties. The bickering and arguing between Gus and Teddy in the beginning never seemed to have reason, even at the end I wondered why they ‘hated’ each other to start with.

Teddy was definitely a better character but I still didn’t like her. I could not get past the cringey daddy jokes she kept making to Gus, especially when she did it in front of Gus’ child. She flirts with a vet while pursuing Gus, and she had two reasons for this. She wanted the vet to give the horse he was looking at the best care possible (which I didn’t think made much sense) and the other explanation she gave was that she flirts with everyone. Both the daddy jokes and the flirting just put me off her character completely.

The cringe didn’t stop at the daddy jokes, the sex scenes were worse. “Saddle up, baby” and “Are you offering me a mustache ride?” were the worst lines I've ever read in a sex scene.

I felt like their relationship could’ve progressed slower. One minute they were arguing, the next minute they were in a relationship. There wasn’t really an in between.

There were a few redeeming factors, but not enough I could push the rating to two stars. I really liked the friendship between Gus and Cam (or maybe I just really liked Cam), the way she understood him was beautiful. I also really liked how close Teddy and Riley were, I enjoyed reading about them collecting flowers together throughout the summer.

Thank you Netgalley and Quercus Books for this ARC ♡

I loved loved loved this book. Lyla Sage knows how to write a romance book!

Teddy and Gus are the perfect couple, everything about their personalities was perfectly complementary to the other’s. The chemistry and tension has been building for these two since book one, and this book finally FINALLY delivers. And oh does it deliver! This book was everything I was looking for from these two.
The author has built so well on top of her previous works to keep this as a work that flows so well with the rest of the series!
I cannot wait for the next book in the series and anything else she may write

This book made me laugh, cry and swoon all at the same time. This book was giving everything I needed from Rebel Blue Ranch and Gus’ & Teddy. One of my most favourites yet!

I loved this book.
The characters were flawed and loveable. And the tension between the main characters was brilliant.
I wonder if the editing could have been better. I felt some sentences were very long with light inner thoughts - sometimes it broke the flow.
In the epilogue I thought the F word was used too many times it lost its impact.

Other than that, a brilliant read and I will be going back and reading the first two from the series.

this one is definetly my favorite of the series so far! The first time i read about Teddy and Gus i knew i would love their story, and i was right! Teddy was so fun and i loved her chemistry with Gus. I wish the author dragged their enemies-to-lovers part a little more, because it was a bit fast paced for my liking

Thanks NetGalley and Quercus for this ARC!

This book redeemed the whole series and Lyla Sage in my eyes. I wasn't really into the first two books and when I read the synopsis of this one, I wasn't that excited even though I do love the enemies-to-lovers trope. But this really surprised me and exceeded my expectations. Such a great romance book that was easy to read and flowed flawlessly.

There was no messy miscommunication or drama - in fact, there was great communication all around from all the characters. The tension was taut. The kid is adorable. The side characters well developed. The romance felt honest and refreshing.

However in saying this, I personally connected and responded more to Teddy's feelings and plight throughout the book more so than to the romance aspect. Maybe I'm going through (another) quarter life crisis, but the way in which Lyla Sage wrote about how Teddy struggled to come to terms with her life at that point in time was just perfect. Absolutely poignant but in the most positive way if possible. All her fears and challenges were realistic and evoked such a deep sense of connection for me which elevated the entire reading experience as well as the plot.

Would definitely read again, as well as the next book in the series!

Overall rating: 4/5

i can’t believe i actually got the opportunity to read this in advance since i loved every single one of the book in this series.

the story between Gus and Teddy was in my opinion the best developed since we got to know their banter already in the first book, but i still feel like swift and saddled hit me like no other.

I also can say that i never loved a kid more than i loved Riley in this book therefore i can’t wait to read the next book about Cami and Dusty and experience her wittiness all over again.

An amazing story , it was funny sexy but also emotional . Gus and Teddy know each other all their lives and they hate each other . So when Teddy get unemployed and Gus need someone to take care of his six year old daughter Riley while he is working at the ranch he ends up offers her the job . She has to live three day with them and at the beggin they are very awkward . Seeing her with Riley he realises that she is more than what she appear to be , and she also sees him in another light . Will those two people who always put the others first find real love together ?
I received this book from netgalley and the publicer as an ARC . Thank you . All thoughts and opinions are my own .

I was super excited to read this book and then could not put it down once I started it. I love this kind of enemies to lovers where it is more that they have a pre-conceived notion of who the other person is tan true hatred and then once Gus and Teddy grow to realize how alike they are and how much they compliment each other they begin to fall in love. The conversation Teddy has about her changing friendship with Emmy was a mature look on how we change and though they still love and care for each other Emmy has Brooks in her life. Riley was also a good character and I normally don't like young kids in romance books but she wasn't precocious and she already has Gus and Cam as parents so Teddy coming in felt like a bonus and they more seemed like friends when they got closer rather than Teddy needing to fill the mum role. Overall I highly recommend to those that love a romance book and I cannot wait to re-read this when it is out in physical form and read the next book, Wild and Wrangled, as the chapter 1 has me hooked on Cam and Dusty's relationship.

when i say i have been DYING for this book… i am not exaggerating. if you have read this series, you know how highly anticipated gus and teddy’s book is. release date is November but i was fortunate enough to receive an arc through net galley. it is safe to say that this is ate this book up! i dont know what Lyla Sage puts in her books, but i couldn't put it down. her books do everything they need to. they are fun, fast paced and have swoon worthy cowboys… what more could you want?! perfect for anyone looking to get out of a reading slump. the books all jump straight into the plot which i really appreciated! i also just love this small town that she has created with my whole heart. gus and teddy's story really hit home for me. they both love with their whole hearts and are always taking care of those around them. finding someone who loves the same as you is just such a privelege. i really felt like i was watching them fall in love on the page! 100% reccomend.

- Cowboy romance
- Close proximity
- Dual POV
- Single daddy x nanny
- Banter
- Grumpy x sunshine
This book was the one I was most excited to read this year. I had high expectations for it, and I have to say that Lyla exceeded them. I loved Gus and Teddy the moment they started arguing with each other in book 1. The more I read from this series, the more I crave. I cannot recommend this book enough, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series !!!!!

I’ve always heard great things about this author and had to check it out. And I can safely say the hype IS worth it.

The back and forth of the characters was great and the banter had me laughing out loud. The chemistry was great.

The stand out feature for me was the relatability of both characters. I felt like I understood them because I’ve been there. It makes them real and root for them more.

Lyla Sage does it again ladies and gentlemen! Oh my GOODNESS I LOVED Teddy and Gus’ story.
I honestly could not put this book down and it was so fun being back in the beautiful Rebel Blue Ranch universe.

With a fantastic friends to lovers, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine trope, I absolutely fell in love with both our two main characters.

Gus is quiet, keeps himself to himself and his main focus and priority is his daughter. A single dad who is convinced he doesn’t need a relationship, and isn’t missing out on anything without one.
Teddy is the opposite - she’s loud, she’s fun, she’s bash and quirky and she absolutely loves a good time.

The forced proximity had me on EDGE and just wanting more. The tension between our two main characters was irresistible - quite like Lyla Sage’s writing.
She has the ability to build characters who have such depth and focus and vulnerability behind them, that they genuinely feel like real people.

This differed from a 4.75 to a 5 star for me, but eventually with the third act conflict and the outcome of the novel, it simply had to be a 5 star. The spice scenes were unmatched as always, and is half the reason I couldn’t put this down!

Thank you to NetGalley and Quercus Books for the opportunity to read yet another ARC from the irresistible Lyla Sage.

This small-town romance features Teddy Andersen, a carefree woman thriving in chaos, and Gus Ryder, a man of routine overwhelmed by his responsibilities. When Gus reluctantly enlists Teddy's help, despite their mutual dislike, tempers flare and sparks fly. As they’re forced to work together, they begin to see each other in a new light, leading to simmering tension and unexpected feelings. A fun, engaging enemies-to-lovers story. This is the third book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series.

Actual Rating: 4.25 Stars

Lost and Lassoed follows Gus and Teddy who have hated each other for as long as they can remember. Gus is the eldest son of the Ryder family who is having to navigate life as a single dad as Riley plans to stay with him during the summer while Cam is interning at a major law firm in the city. Between his job, other commitments and having Riley full time, he's struggling to keep up with everything, and after forgetting to pick his daughter up after soccer practice, his family decided he needed help. Enter Teddy. Teddy has also been struggling, feeling like she has no direction in her life after recently being laid off at work. So when her best friend, Emmy, suggests working with Gus to look after his daughter, Gus has no other choice but to accept.

I fell in love with Gus and Teddy since their endless banter and tension in Done and Dusted. I knew that I would be eating this book up and for the most part I did but I felt like as soon as they started getting more involved, they lost their spark. Like where was the tension, the banter that we had in the previous books? Don't get me wrong, I still loved these two but maybe I set my expectations a little too high. But this was enemies to lovers and forced proximity at it's finest.

I can't wait to get my hands on Wild & Wrangled, Dusty and Cam better give me all the tension. Like how do you expect me to wait until 2025? It's literally impossible at this point.

(3.5)

I feel like I have come to know the Rebel Blue gang - whilst I have my favourite characters (cough, Wes) and the characters I'm not all that fussed about (cough, Brooks), there's something to be said for opening a book that is familiar and comfortable, and I also like spotting who the next one in the series will be about (I'm excited for the next one! Branching out a bit)

Now, I'm also not one of those people that likes spice in my book - I don't dislike it, but I don't feel the need for it - and there is spice here. There are in all the Rebel Blue books, but personally I felt this had the most spice out of all of the books so far. And I just can't with the dialogue in some of these scenes...I clearly do not like my men possessive and demanding lol

One of my main issues with this was that it's supposed to be enemies-to-lovers/close proximity - and the close proximity is fine, but I'm never really shown why Gus and Teddy hate each other so much. I'm told, which is worse, but I don't have the same conflict as a reader when the biggest fight they've had is Teddy calling Gus an asshole. It doesn't give as much of a contrast in their relationship as it could have done.

Nevertheless, a cute little romance - clearly Meadowlark is the place to be to find The One.

My favorite thing about this might be the acknowledgments and the letter to her dad, but I can, without a doubt, say that this is another solid book to the Rebel Blue Ranch series. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and Lyla Sage did not disappoint. I love how we can see the relationship building but still get glimpses of all the other characters throughout the books and how good everyone's relationship with each other is. Rebel Blue is truly a family, whether you where born into it or you found your way there. I can't wait to read Cam and Dusty's story next!
