Everybody lies. The end is surprising, but mainly because you are led down so many rabbit holes, it's hard to keep up with the latest suspect. When Lauren learns her missing sister, Ellie, is dead and that her husband, Alex, may have some connection to her death, Lauren is devasted. She leaves Alex and agrees to work with the police to get answers about Ellie's death. That seems like the right thing to do until Lauren realizes she is being followed and may be in danger herself. It's hard to know who can be trusted in this thriller, but it's never the one you think it is. In the end, the characters got what (and who) they deserved. Great work, Georgina Cross!

This book was the definition of a page Turner, even using the audiobook. It was listening, and every chance I could get to get to the end of the story to know what happened. It’s a little When you think that you may have married your sister’s murderer, especially when your husband denies having any knowledge of her. The characters themselves all have some secrets and you don’t really like any of them, but you’re drawn to all of them. We just are desperate to know what secrets they are hiding and how well we know them, how well we know each other in the world, that people could be hiding some very big secrets. There are some very big twists at the end that make the book all come together

4/5✨
This story was such a whirl-wind, whew. I loved how chaotic the main character is in this story. If you want a story where you think one person is the "bad guy" only to see it another way in a quick and fun read, this is it!
Thank you Georgina Cross, Bookouture Audio, and Net Galley for a free, advanced audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest review. It is narrated by Stephanie Cannon who also did an amazing job.

This US novel is set in Illinois/Chicago and is filled with deception, secrets and suspicions.
Lauren, married to Alex, has, for 12 long years been seeking to find her missing sister, Ellie. Coincidentally, Alex also has a brother who disappeared around this time - this being one of the factors that have bonded the couple. Imagine Laurens shock and horror when it is revealed that on the discovery of Ellie's body, her possessions include a photo that show Ellie to be with Alex just prior to her death! While I don't won't to give spoilers I will just say this is not the only twist in this superb original story!
The reveal was spectacular and well worth waiting for - as for the ending ....yep pretty gratifying too!
As one would expect from Stephanie Cannon, narration is utterly on point!
My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this audiobook in exchange for an advance copy.

Twisty and unpredictable until the end!
I’ve read other books from this author and they always keep me at the edge of my seat and engaged. Great writing, fast-paced and an unexpected ending, the perfect mix for a good domestic thriller.
Thank you Suzy Approved Book Tours for this tour invite.

This was a great thriller. I have a huge problem of only reading my favorite authors in the thriller category, but Cross did an amazing job keeping me on my toes. There were so many twists and turns. This is a book I couldn't figure out "who" it was. I would totally recommend this book for any reader wanting a great thriller.

Thanks to the publishers and netgalley for giving me the opportunity to listen to this audiobook.
The book starts with two people bonded with their siblings disappearance. Neither of them ready to give up on finding thier siblings even though a lot of time has passed . Alex and Lauren have a lot of love and trust on each other.
After twelve years a detective calls with an evidence which shakes Lauren to her core. The author has done a wonderful job with characters and their personality . I suspected an all the characters of the murder . I never guessed the truth. To be honest it was a jaw dropping experience when I listened to the truth.
I am impressed with the author and would like the opportunity to read other books from Georgina cross.

I appear to be in the minority here, but I wasn't as bowled over by this as I would have liked to be (or thought I would be). The premise was so promising, but it felt a bit to me as if the author was merely trying to keep up with other books of a similar theme.
It was mediocre and to be honest a bit odd. First of all, knowing what these people knew, I find their behaviour extremely peculiar. Lauren was so concerned about Ellie, and yet it never occurred to her (in light of later events) that her sister wasn't coming back. Nah, I don't buy it.
Not awful but not great. 2 and a half stars, rounded down... It would have been rounded up but the ending just tipped the scale the other way.

"In 'My Perfect Husband,' buckle up for a thrilling ride through twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With two unreliable narrators, the story unfolds leaving you guessing until the very end. The narrator skillfully navigates through the plot, enhancing the suspense and keeping listeners hooked from start to finish. A must-listen for fans of fast-paced thrillers!"

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for ARC.
This was a very fast paced, quick read. Perfect to binge. I could not put it down. The ending was also twisty!!!! Can’t complain! Highly recommend this book!!

First off, thank you Net Galley for this free audiobook.
I enjoyed the narrator and how she led us through the story. This book is a fast faxed, easy read to get through. I was hooked by the premise and the book did not fail to bring what was promised.
This was a fun read that kept me hooked.

So this book was interesting being was told from 2 perspectives and both being unreliable narrators. I was really completely invested and felt that there wasn’t much point in the story by the end.

Wow! A brilliant and twisty thriller that had me floored!
Lauren and Alex were drawn together by their shared trauma of having a missing sibling. Neither of them will ever give up on finding their loved ones and the support they show to each other demonstrates the depth of their love.
When Lauren gets the call she has been waiting for for twelve years, some shocking evidence is discovered which makes Lauren question everything and everyone, including Alex. The characters and the back stories are well written and the present day events are super tense. I suspected everyone at some point and could never have guessed the truth. It was a huge jaw dropping moment!
Well played, Georgina Cross, I can't wait for more from this talented author. As always, Stephanie Cannon's narration was spot on.
5 ⭐️ Thanks to Netgalley, Georgina Cross and Bookouture, for an ARC in return for an honest review.

My Perfect Husband
Georgina Cross
Alex and I met at a support group for the families of missing people. Alex was looking for his brother Clive and I was searching for her missing sister Ellie. Ellie had been missing for twelve years. I looked deep into his eyes and knew he was the man for me. Alex was perfect, he helped me search for my sister, he held me when I cried, he was perfect. Ellie’s body was found in an old house, a photograph was found in her pocket. My perfect husband was in the photograph along with my sister and his brother. My life shattered. Alex had lied to me; he said they had never met, but there he was with his arm around her shoulders. I recognized the café in the picture. The picture was made the day she died. It was obvious that Alex had lied to her, but why.
This is an interesting thriller. About halfway through the book we discover the main character, Lauren, has a secret. This tale is told from Lauren’s point of view. There are occasional flashbacks. The flashbacks give the reader deeper knowledge of Lauren and her relationship with her sister Ellie. The ending surprised me. We are left with a cliff hanger. I’m not a great fan of cliff hangers.

This is a great thriller. Cat and mouse style. This is the kind of book that makes you wonder what your significant other has kept secret from you for the length of your relationship. Because everyone has secrets right? Does having secrets make you guilty of a crime or?

I received a copy of this audiobook as an ARC from Netgalley and am very grateful that I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Some audiobooks can feel like they drag. This was quite the opposite. Considering its an 8 hour+ read, the time seemed to fly by. Unlike some books where I can lose track of who is who it is a simple enough story to follow - wife's sister disappeared 12 years ago. She meets her husband at grief counselling. He says his brother is missing too. They are a perfectly happy couple, supporting each other. Then the body of the sister is found and in her pocket is a picture of her with the husband and his brother - when the husband has said he's never met the sister before! and so to New Orleans to try and discover the truth about the sister's death. Can't say much more without revealing spoilers - just to say that there was just the right amount of suspense and tension for me, a great psychological thriller with an unexpected (for me at least) twist at the end.

This is popcorn reading at its finest!
Lauren’s sister, Ellie, has been missing for over 10 years and the police have no leads - until Lauren finally gets the call she’s been dreading. The police found Ellie’s body. When the police ask Lauren to look at some photos found with Ellie, she recognizes her husband. That’s really all you need to know to start this twisty thriller!
Expect:
New Orleans setting
1 POV, Dual Timelines
Secrets
Domestic Mystery
Quick Read
I really loved this quick thriller! The author’s writing style kept me on my toes the entire time. The narration was perfect, it added to the intensity of the story. I could not put this down until I finished it- which shows exactly how well Georgina Cross wrote this!
I am giving it 4 stars because I wish the ending had been a bit different; I can’t say much more without spoiling it.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, and Georgina Cross for this ALC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fast read, the writing flows easily most of the time. I was interested the whole time I was reading. But I did find Lauren’s thoughts repetitive. I enjoy a good fast paced thriller, but for me the execution of the twists are what determines a thriller. For most of the book I thought I knew what the twist would be. I was wrong, but the actual twist left me disappointed. I was left with more questions than answers. Over all it was just an okay book for me.

I really enjoyed reading The Perfect Couple I just felt it lacked pace. While I enjoyed the layers and layers the book took me through I was constantly eager to get to the end and connect the dots.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC.

A woman discovers that her perfect husband may also be the person who killed her beloved sister. This was a fun thriller with plenty of twists and a fast pace. This is my first book by the other and I look forward to reading more!
