Haunt was a complex rollercoaster ride of emotions. The characters are robust and their development within the story is next level - you will feel deep connections to each one, evoking a myriad of thoughts and feelings that will only wind up betraying you because everything you think is true turns upside down. This is a long and thorough read, but every word has a purpose and there is so much life breathing within the pages you will only realize the length when you finish and are longing for more still. This is not your average love story.
Some of the vital characters encased within the story:
Charlotte: so young and naive, because sheโs never been on her own. She's learning, through trial and error which makes her a more developed and rich as she goes.
Mac: the cold-blooded killer with a haunting past. Each scar a silent reminder of his violent past. His masculinity flirts with rawness and mystery.
Will: the ever hopeless romantic with a big heart.
Levi: the Norwegian hulk of a man whose charming personality is only second to his darker, wicked side.
JB: A good time, light hearted guy with a complex personality who will keep you in stitches.
I simply cannot recommend this book enough. You will laugh and you will cry. Real tears! Absurdly beautiful read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this advanced reader's copy and the opportunity to read this early. Review has been posted on Waterstones and Amazon.

Haunt is a very deep read. Make yourself comfortable, grab a glass of your favorite whiskey, and spend some time, because this book will sweep you away into the Victorian West as if youโre entering a time warp.
Haunt is incredibly well written. Youโll find yourself engulfed in the intrigue and atmosphere. The world building alongside character development in this gothic historical fiction was amazing. I highly recommend!

Haunt was an intense Western dark romance following Charlotte, an inexperience girl whom flees from home and found love on a serial killer, Mac. This book was opening story for Loveletting series.
This massive gothic romance story take time around late 19th century and gave us complex morality characters, dangerous adventures and darkest romance I ever read. The writing is poetic and heavy. The narrative is mysterious and appealing thou. It was suited to delivered challenging plots underlayer with lot elements.
This isn't the most easy romance I ever read, but brimming with so much potential. Just take moment to really absorb into the world.
Thank you Netgalley and Existential Publishing for providing copy of this ebook. I have voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Release date : 31 October 2022

This book was just not for me! I had a hard time with the many characters. I am not one to quit a book once I have started it, but I came close with this one. It truly was a dark romance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

You would like this if you want a dark, gritty story with a Western vibe. It was horrifying in the best way, but I tried to read it twice but stopped halfway through. The dialogue and characters failed to captivate my interest, and I couldn't invest in the story.
It is not the book but me, as I can't handle horror and gore if it is not fantasy.
It's safe to say I will not be getting the second book.

Unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. I didn't make it far (maybe 15%?) before I couldn't do the writing anymore. Though the writing is detailed, there are a lot of run on sentences with a mass amount of info dumping/detail dumping, and from the reviews I read afterward, things don't get much better with the outlandish-ness of the plot? I loved the idea and have been FEIGNING for a dark-romance-westerny type of book and was hoping this could scratch that itch. Think Red Dead Redemption but heavier on the dark romance. Sadly, this wasn't it.
I do appreciate NetGalley for giving me an ARC/Free copy, though for an honest review.

I wanted to like this book so much. The description of the book sucked me in and I was so excited to start reading it. But sadly, I DNF'd it at 65%. Once started I struggled to get into the story or care about the characters. Charlotte was one of the most insufferable characters I've read - you just wanted to beat your head against a wall whenever she made a decision.
I wanted to love Mac, he was complicated, morally gray, and overall the dream dark romance love interest - but in the end, he was blah. I honestly can't remember a single thing about him besides that he was the main love interest.
What little of the romance I read it felt forced. I don't think the two would have had any interest in each other whatsoever. The spicy scenes were cringy and I just didn't see any connection between the two.
I'm so sad to have to give this book 2 stars, but it just needs a lot more editing and work.

Thanks Netgalley for the arc!
I think Christina Maraziotis is a talented writer but I don't think this book will be remembered as her best work.
This book was way too long and could've been edited down to a more concise length and in my opinion a certain POV were not needed at all. The writing style didn't really work with an old west/horror story and it was inconsistent throughout the book. The characters were not fully flushed so to make up for it the main character is repeatedly placed into violent situations for "development" sake.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the ARC.
Phenomenal job by the author on this book for the first of this series. She is a great writer and I loved the book, the characters and the story itself. I know there are more books in this series that she is doing and I cannot wait to read them as well.
