Love this a lot!! If you have any interest in using less tech or digital minimalism then this is for you.

It’s a faith based book (the author is a Christian) and I really loved reading about this subject from this viewpoint, it felt like it gave it another angle and I really loved how the author weaved her faith through the book.

This is my 2 or 3 book now from the author and I can’t wait to read more!

From the blurb -
We engage with our phones more than 2,000 times each day... imagine what we could gain if we unplugged.

Driven by a growing feeling of anxiety, and guided by her faith, Hannah Brencher set herself the challenge of reaching 1,000 digital device-free hours over a year.

This book contains everything she learned along the way. Rather than advocating we ditch technology, Hannah encourages small, attainable changes through a series of meditations on themes such as:

• the importance of truly connecting with others
• how insecurity feeds digital addiction
• learning to be alone
• appreciating the mundane beauty of everyday life.

This book will open our eyes to the wonderful things that can happen when we untether ourselves from our devices and live a life more present.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I think the 1,000 unplugged hours challenge is a great idea and one I think I may have to try and liked the presence of the chart to make it easier for me to have a go. I think it was a cute little touch for the chapter break being unplugged cables with the topic of the book being all about unplugging from tech. The book is mostly personal with lots of anecdotes throughout so I appreciated having notes for specific research to make checking the background to the claims easier.

I loved this book, I found it relatable and super encouraging. I'm ready to unplug and start counting my 1000 hours. Have already pre-ordered a physical copy so I can read it again and highlight all the things. I loved Hannah's writing and found it really easy to read.

If you have ever questioned how much time you're spending online and just how much life may be passing you by, I recommend this book to help you refocus and find presence.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley UK for a free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
