Jax and Sasha’s love story was everything I could ever want. Devney Perry has made me want to live in Montana, I n a ranch and find my own cowboy!
Jax has never taken life too seriously, he isn’t looking for commitment but that changes when he meets Sasha. I loved how he had to try and keep trying even to get a little bit of her attention.
Sasha needs her job, she has things going on in the back ground that we slowly find out about. Her life hasn’t been easy and she is trying her best to stay afloat.
This book was perfect for me and it’s one I will read again and again. I highly recommend reading it, I hope you fall in love with their story too.

SO MANY THANKS to Devney and NetGalley for the access to an early copy of this.
This story picks up many years after the conclusion of book 1; Haven River Ranch is years into its revitalization and Jax, the younger Haven son, has fallen into a routine with his life on the ranch. He's known around town for being a relationship tumbleweed but with the way we get to know him through his point of view, we see its more complicated than him being a playboy with a fear of commitment. The story we experience shows us that his past has dug deep claws into his sense of self and while he is charming, incredibly attractive, and deservedly confident, he also harbors hurts and bruises that he doesn't show the world.
Sasha, our FMC, is a bit of a tumbleweed herself - but her story is much more mysterious. What I think goes strongly for this story, as was very much the case with the first, is that we get first person narration for our characters but there is still something we do not know about their lives. For Sasha, she needs to keep this job and she needs to live a life of frugality to ensure that her money is going to the most important part of her life - WHICH WE DO NOT KNOW ABOUT?!
The way these two characters dance around each other, with one of them constantly working to wiggle into the cracks of the other's walls, was engaging and filled with delicious tension. The intensity of their chemistry starts on page 1 and only builds throughout the course of the story. Tropes can be found on the author's website for those looking to get a better idea of what to expect but trust me when I say that you'll enjoy the surprises you get (and the mystery that unravels) as you get more puzzle pieces for both Sasha and Jax.
If you like:
- relating to a city girl in horse ranch country with 0 expectations of ever finding love for her surroundings
- the real nitty-gritty drama and complications of life in a small town where you not only know everyone but you share history with several of them, too
- when characters from the previous book spend more time in the storyline than passing mentions
- an examination of the complexity of love, heartache, forgiveness, and regret in all stages of a person's life..
.. you're going to enjoy this story. This is more than your standard cowboy, small town romance - it digs deeper into your emotions but leaves you feeling content and fulfilled.

Everytime I read a Devney book I just know that it’s going to make its way on the list of my favorite books of all time. Sunlight is no different. Devney’s writing in this book is captivating, creative and tear jerking. I was so hooked from the very first chapter with all the hidden mystery behind Sasha and her background.
Jax and Sasha were EVERYTHING. After Crossroads, I wondered what could equal / top my love for Indya and West but oh boy did Jax and Sasha deliver. The way that Jax is such a giver and is so caring and loving to those around him is top book boyfriend material worthy… the way he treats Sasha?? SWOONNN. These two were BEYOND perfect and a pair I did not want to stop reading about. This mixed in with the little glimpses into the old characters I loved from Crossroads and it was a recipe for perfection.
The writing, characters, plot and twists were everything I’d hoped for and more. I stand by the fact that Devney Perry can do no wrong. She’s always my insta read author and I will recommend her to anyone that will listen (again, again and AGAIN). Devney + team, thank you so much for the arc copy. I hope my review gives justice to how incredibly amazing this book is <3

I always get excited when a new Devney Perry book hits my Kindle because I know I'm about to get lost in an incredible story...and Sunlight did not disappoint. Jax and Sasha's story pulled me in right from the start and I could not put their story down. So much emotion in this one, from both characters...and my heart hurt for both Jax and Sasha when some things were revealed, but there was so much love and forgiveness that happened, which was truly needed for everyone.
Highly recommend this one!

- Forced Proximity
- Small Town
Devney knows how to write this trope with the utmost perfection ❤️ Although there is not anything Devney writes that isn't perfect (yes, I am a total fan girl 😆)
Jax and Sasha were such a cute couple! I loved Jax because he was such a playboy in Crossroads, but he is completely changed in Sunlight. Some might even say...swoon worthy 😍 Loved him so much. Their banter is top tier and the tension....was tensioning. Also, the hidden story of who Eddie is, had me foaming at the mouth!! Loved this book so much!!
I read this in one sitting and can't to re-read with the audio!

Jax and Sasha don’t understand each other so they don’t tolerate each other well which makes working together a challenge. Sasha comes off as cold and Jax has a history of just being in it for a good time. When they find out Sasha’s pregnant, they begin to see each other differently.
“Tell me a lie” “It was terrible and you’ll hate it”. Please know that this story was perfect. I haven’t felt this way about a Devney story since Juniper Hill. There’s something magical about Sunlight. This will forever stay with you.
Jax and Sasha. Both are flawed and hurt from their past. Sasha’s early POV chapters you can feel her sorrow. Right from the start you feel Jax love. He is absolutely gone for Sasha. I will never get over these two.

“He was the balancing force I’d been missing for so long. He was the place I could lean when the world flipped. He took everything in stride and nothing too seriously.”
•Accidental pregnancy
•Forced proximity
•Small town
•Cowboy romance
Another great small town romance by Devney Perry. Jax and Sasha’s instant attraction, and the lead up to when they finally connect… so well done. Jax is sweet and so caring. He just wants to take care of Sasha. While she is a bit closed off, Sasha sees she is deserving of love and affection. If you’re a fan of accidental pregnancy, this is definitely a must read.

My love for this series knows no bounds.
I was so excited for Jax's book after finishing Crossroads and I can officially say I love him even more now than I did before. There's something about his easy going, carefree attitude that just endears him to me. You can't not love him. It's impossible. He had me laughing out loud so many times while I was reading. I'd even go as far as to say Jax is the entire reason why I enjoyed this one as much as I did.
Accidental pregnancy is actually one of my favorite tropes so I was beside myself when it was revealed that it would be the premise for Sunlight. On that end it definitely didn't disappoint. I felt like their initial reactions to the news was very realistic and believable. I appreciated how Perry allowed both main characters to process the situation however they needed to, messy moments and mistakes included. I love seeing the growth between that initial moment and the final chapter.
I will say I felt like the sex of their baby was easy to assume earlier than I would've liked, because I love the anticipation of finding out alongside the characters with no idea what the answer will be, but at the same time the reason I was able to guess/assume so quickly made sense for Sasha's story.
Admittedly she was the one I struggled with a bit. By the end I'd been won over to her side, but throughout the book I felt as if I liked her but I didn't love her as much as I wanted to. That said... I think part of this is because Devney Perry really stayed true to her character, her history, her insecurities, her beliefs. I can acknowledge that I don't think it would've made sense, given who Sasha is and what she's experienced, if she'd come around and stopped fighting that voice in her head sooner.
All in all this was a 4.5 star read for me. I really enjoyed it overall, couldn't put it down, and appreciated some of the deeper, heavier topics it explored beyond the romance plot. Jax broke my freaking heart more than once recalling his past and how the events have affected him. I cried for him, then cried again when some of those pieces began to shift more toward something hopeful. I also really enjoyed the mystery of Eddie throughout the book. It gave me a similar feeling to Indya's voicemails to her dad in book one. Aside from the obvious crossover and cameos of characters I felt like it really added a nice sense of continuity and familiarity across the series.
Thank you so much to the author and Valentine PR for gifting me an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved it and can't wait to see what comes next in this series!

Sunlight is a shining example of just why Devney Perry is my number one automatic 1-click author!
No one does small town romance better and this book has ALL my favorite tropes all wrapped up in one book that warmed every corner of my heart. We have small town, surprise pregnancy, cowboy and workplace romance! Jax and Sasha are dynamite together and Devney Perry wrote one of her most touching books to date.

Book 2 in the Haven River Ranch series is live! When the tropes for this book dropped you better believe I was jumping up and down. Accidental pregnancy? It’s ALWAYS gonna hit for me and that was no different here. From the very first moment Jax and Sasha met, you could feel the sparks and tension. I also can’t resist a little bit of forbidden thrown into books and with Sasha being an employee at the ranch, it added the perfect pinch of “stay away from her.” Which of course he didn’t 🙂↕️ Coming back to this world was everything I hoped it would be! I absolutely devoured this one.
The audiobook is narrated by Ava Erickson and Stephen Dexter and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Definitely recommend checking it out!

I loved jax and sasha! their story was one that I wish I could read again for the first time! a small town, accidental pregnancy cowboy romance where he’s her boss and sprinkle in some forced proximity and workplace romance - tell me this isn’t just the perfect romance read!
jax is the ultimate book boyfriend! the way he was with sasha was pure perfection, he was so affectionate and there for her!

I loved that jax was there for sasha and their baby, the way he calls her my josephine before she was even born was something else entirely!
I loved that even though sasha tried to push jax away he didn’t let her and was there every step of the way! their relationship was a bit of a rollercoaster but they get their happy ever after

This book was fantastic as are all Devney Perry books! Sunlight is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series. This is a secret crush on your sort of boss that leads to a one night stand and an accidental pregnancy book. It follows the story of Jax and Sasha, he’s one of the owners of Haven River Ranch and she’s a ranch hand that’s trying to avoid life’s distractions. But watching them fall in love while navigating past traumas and growing together was chef’s kiss!

"Tell me a lie.." I hated this book (IYKYK)
Sunlight is the 2nd book in the Haven River Ranch series, and if you have not yet read it, I strongly encourage you to. I'm not sure if I'm biased because Crossroads was the book that made me fall in love with @devneyperry 's writing style, but I have to say that Sunlight was one of my favorite Devney reads!
"Tell me a secret..."
This book made my heart swell. The story starts off with the cutest meet cute of Jax and Sasha. I loved the element of unknown when it came to Sasha's personal history. It kept me guessing right up until the end. And the way that Jax falls so hard for her, and so wholly, it just made me feel so lucky to get to read such an endearing story. Jax and Sasha literally make the perfect couple! The character development of not only Jax and Sasha, but also that of Lily, added an additional element of joy for me. It was lovely to see Jax and Lily at the start of healing their relationship through the development of Jax's own little family.
"Tell me a lie..." the characters are horrible

Devney Perry has a way of writing her characters that make the reader feel as though these are real life people, friends, family.
I've not quite found anything like it in other books so consistently. Jax and Sasha are no different. They are brought to life so vividly that they remain with you long after you turn the last page.
I HIGHLY recommend reading Devney Perry's books if you're looking for some lovely, spicy romance with outstanding characters, plot twists, and just an all-around good read.
I gave • Sunlight • 5-stars and cannot wait to get back to Haven River Ranch one day! *****

I want to go and live in Montana on Haven River Ranch 😩 but maybe only in the summer, I’m not sure I could handle all the snow!
As always Devney tells a beautiful story, with great scene setting and lots of romance, I read it in one sitting. It’s fabulously written and I’m so happy that Jax got his HEA, Sasha is perfect for him, (though I still don’t think I’m ready to forgive Lily for the way she treated him as a child).
Really looking forward to Devney’s next book.

It was so nice to be back in Haven River Ranch again.
Sunlight is the story of Jax and Sasha. Both are trying to navigate their way through their own hardships. It is a story of heartbreak, forgiveness and love. Such a beautiful and emotional journey.
Jax is the fun loving playboy who rocks a cowboy hat. He isn’t know to take life too seriously and he is always down for a good time. Under the flirty exterior is a broken hearted boy, who was betrayed and longs to be loved.
Sasha is a force. Stepping up after her parent’s tragic death was never something she expected. At the time she was just a kid herself but nothing is more important to her than family. That is how she finds herself on Haven River Ranch.
Her meet cute with Jax at the supermarket sparks hope in her. Maybe something is going to go right for a change. Until his says his name. She CANNOT crush on her BOSS.
The chemistry between Jax and Sasha is obvious from the start. But once Sasha learns that Jax is her boss, she stuffs down her feelings and pretends to loathe his presence. Unfortunately for her Jax is persistent. Even though she ices him out Jax’s feelings never waver. He is so steadfast in his love for her it is able to withstand her efforts to push him away.
Now, with a little pink plus sign both are forced together which is exactly where they are meant to be. Sasha does not make it easy on him, but Jax never gives up.
My heart was so full after reading this. Jax loves Sasha so much that he wouldn’t give her up. And the banter between these two was top tier. Jax was perfect but as a daddy?? Absolutely nothing better. When he says “You’re carrying my Josephine…” I was DONE.
“tell me a lie” “I hate Montana”
“tell me a secret” “I love you”
^the moment my heart melted to a puddle.
Thank you Devney Perry, Valentine PR & NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this advanced copy.

Received this book as an ARC
Enjoyable story, accidental pregnancy trope. Love Ms.Perry’s writing style she always does a great job of creating an interesting story. Jax and Sasha are the cutest couple their pacing made sense. Enjoyed reading Sasha’s backstory and her journey to healing. Jax was the perfect gentle man of course, loved how he showed his love for her and defended her. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

This was utterly phenomenal. It's one of the ultimate accidental pregnancy books. Jax and Sasha completely own my heart and Haven River Ranch is a place I will always visit just to be with these character. Jax hasn't had it easy but he's found his place with West, his friends, and the horses. Montana has always been home. Sasha has faced some of the toughest situations and currently it feels like there is no one who is there for her and she's stuck in a place that doesn't feel anything like home. The connection and relationship that grows between these two is one that I hope I get to mirror or take elements from in the future. How Jax understands Sasha and meets her where she's at. How Sasha learns to let someone in again, maybe even start to trust a little more, is burned into my heart.
Devney's writing throughout this story is stunning. How she captures the fear, the unknown and unexpected excitement as well as all the challenges that these two face is just awe inspiring. When I finished this one - I really didn't know what to do next because I just wanted to bask in the perfection that is Sunlight. One of my favourite Devney Perry books ever.

Life can weigh us down, throwing obstacles that leave us scarred. But sometimes, escape comes in unexpected places, like a new job on a breathtaking ranch in Montana, where we meet a cowboy with a smirk that could stop time.
Devney Perry has a way of weaving romance with mystery that never fails to astonish me. Set against the stunning backdrop of Haven Ranch, Montana, the landscape itself feels almost too beautiful to be real. And yet, in my mind, it is. Devney masterfully delves into her characters’ hearts, revealing why they are who they are and what has shaped them along the way.
Then, of course, there’s the romance. This is an accidental pregnancy trope, one that often stirs mixed feelings, but in this case, it felt especially poignant. I loved how tenderly they navigated it, with Jax fiercely protective of Sasha, and Sasha resilient despite the hardships life had thrown her way.
If you’re looking for a small town romance with real depth, this is it.
Thank you, Devney, and Valentine PR for the chance to dive into this world with this ARC.

I enjoyed Sunlight so much!
Devney thrive with an accidental pregnancy romance!
I wish we had more of the Haven River Ranch series because I love it!

Don't walk, RUN back to Haven River Ranch - trust me, Jax will not disappoint!! A serial playboy meets the new girl in town while she's being accused of stealing a grocery cart 🤭 Little does Jax know, the one person who stirs up authentic feelings in him is about to be his employee.
This love story was so genuine!! The amount of support Jax shows Sasha was unbelievably refreshing. He took it slow, just like she needed, && demonstrated real actions, not just words. I love their love! Jax && Sasha forever ❤️
