Thank you to Devney Perry and Valentine PR for the advanced digital copy. My thoughts are my own.
✨ Devney Perry must sprinkle some kind of magic into her books because once I picked this one up, I just COULD NOT put it down! ✨ I devoured it in less than 24 hours, and honestly, I’m already wishing I could experience it for the first time all over again. 😍
The way Devney creates her characters and builds her worlds is just chef’s kiss 👏. Haven River Ranch is seriously one of my all-time favorite fictional places. I wish it was real so I could visit—how amazing would that be?! 🏞️ I feel so connected to these characters (just like I did in book 1), probably because I see little pieces of myself in them. 💕
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster! 🎢 I laughed, cried, fist-pumped the air, and even wanted to scream a few times. 😅 Sasha is my girl—I could totally see us being besties IRL. She’s hilarious, and her sense of humor is just spot on. Jax, on the other hand, is so much like my significant other—loving and always worrying (even when he doesn’t need to!). 🥰 And don’t even get me started on the "tell me a lie/tell me a secret" theme. 😭 Every time it came up, it tugged at my heartstrings in the best way. I cried SO much because you can feel the love radiating from this book, no matter what was happening.
I could gush about Sasha and Jax forever, and trust me, I will. I’m recommending this to all my friends! Even though accidental pregnancy isn’t usually my fave trope, Devney Perry is the exception. 💖 I LOVE SASHA AND JAX!!

I loved this book. I really enjoyed how this story was written, it moved through time smoothly without being drawn out but still getting the point across. Jax was such a sweetheart with Sasha and the reformed playboy troupe worked so well for him. Sasha was a little uptight but for good reason. I always love when books have a secret that we are slowly revealed and this one was perfect. With a pregnancy troupe, amazing chemistry, the family dynamic, and the characters internal struggles - this book had it all! As always, check for TWs and happy reading!

Jax and Sasha’s story has my heart. “Tell me a secret. Tell me a lie” I’m obsessed. It was an emotional book that had me falling in love with Jax with every page as he fought for the future he wanted. 10/10 always recommend a Devney Perry book

L I love anything written by Devney Perry, and would probably read her grocery list if she published it. With that being said– I ate this up. I loved seeing the difference in Jax from Crossroads to Sunlight, and I loved Sasha.
Jax had some very realistic reactions and thoughts (read: he’s a man LOL), and I thought it was comical to read. The dynamic between him and his family was also interesting to read from his POV. Obviously we learn how he came to be in book one, but seeing it from his eyes gave everything a totally new meaning. I don’t know if I can forgive Lily, although I know she is trying to earn forgiveness.
Sasha is very secretive and reserved, and I had a feeling Eddie was her brother based on the glimpses she gave. However, I did not anticipate Eddie being part of the drug deal in the alley! That threw me for a loop. My heart definitely broke for her at so many points, and her strength shines through with all that she’s dealt with
I enjoyed the timeline jumps, and thought it gave a good perspective on how long it actually took them to be able to be around each other. The accidental pregnancy trope can be a little overdone, but I thought it was done so well here (also done so well in Rally, so like Devney I see you and please keep this up 👀).

This isn’t just a 5 star book. This is an infinite-amount-of-stars book, just like Crossroads. This series deserves all the stars in the universe. I knew Haven Ranch would become one of my favorite series when I read Crossroads, and Sunlight has just confirmed it. I’m honestly not ready to say goodbye to the ranch and these characters.
There were so many emotions going through my heart as I read this book. This is much more than an accidental pregnancy and cowboy romance. This is a story about relationships, about owning your mistakes, about saying enough is enough, and most importantly about family - blood and found. Jax and Sasha’s story is raw and beautiful, just like West and Indya’s was. I felt everything with them. I was a mess when they were, I smiled when they did and I cried an ocean of happy tears at the end of the book.
Jax and Sasha are the main characters, but we also get glimpses at other characters and how their choices and actions affect everyone else in one way or another. I definitely had strong feelings towards Lily, Em and Eddie throughout the book and it was a rollercoaster of emotions until the end.
Thank you Devney and VRP for the ARC to give me the chance to give my honest opinion.
And thank you Devney again for writing these amazing characters that have found their way into my heart forever. I wish we had more time in Haven Ranch.

Sunlight by Devney Perry is book 2 of the Haven River Ranch series. This book is about Jax Haven, playboy cowboy, brother to West, and part owner of the Haven Ranch. Sasha is new to town and about to start work at the Haven Ranch as resort manager while Indya is out on maternity leave. Jax and Sasha have an instant connection but nothing can come of it seeing as he is her boss. After one night of fun, Sasha finds herself in a situation with Jax. They learn more about eachother and the chemistry is off the charts. I love this story and how sweet Jax is with Sasha. He is patient and calming. Everything she needs. Can I tell you a lie? I hate this book! Can I tell you a secret? This is the best book in the series so far and I can't wait for more!

Yet another stunning release from Devney Perry! Sunlight is a small town, reformed playboy, workplace, accidental pregnancy romance, and it lived up to my every expectation. With Crossroads being widely adored, I felt this was the perfect second installment of the Haven River Ranch Series.
Both Jax and Sasha were broken. Each of their pasts played a large role in how they operated in relationships and even their daily lives, and Devney did a fantastic job of building their stories both past and present. Sasha's past being hidden from both Jax and the reader left me on the edge of my seat wondering who, what, and why. This curiosity kept me so engaged in the story and I absolutely loved the reveal in the third act.
I felt I truly knew Jax and Sasha by the end of this book in a way I have not understood many characters recently. My best assumption as to why is that Devney goes deep instead of wide with her writing and storytelling. What I mean by that is she offers us fewer yet longer chapters and scenes with incredible depth as opposed to a larger amount of short and shallow chapters in her books. This writing style, though offering fewer scenes, provides so much depth and understanding for our characters.
This book checked all of the boxes for me. I truly loved every moment and am already excited to head back to Haven River Ranch. Congratulations to Devney on such a great release!

Note on Tropes: I don’t always list all tropes, if it feels like a spoiler. So you’ll notice a glaring missing trope for that reason.
I want to preface this review by noting that I absolutely loved Crossroads and Sunlight may have fallen victim of very high expectations.
The set up for Sunlight from Crossroads with the complicated dynamic between Lily and Jax was something I was really looking forward to. I was anticipating and hoping that Sunlight will destroy me in the best way and that I’ll be bawling.
In the end, there was a sad part where I thought maybe if I were in the right mood (or right time of month) I maybe could have shed a tear. But it was just a little too easy and wrapped up very neatly.
The hold up for me was that the fmc was very NOT likeable (perhaps done on purpose) and the reveal dragged a little too long to the point where it felt forced. Personally, I think revealing it earlier could have provided opportunities to explore more complex emotions and conversations between characters.
I can see and understand why it was done the way it was. And it was fine. What was meant to create tension just resulted in frustration for me. But it was a short read, and everything worked out in the end. I just personally wanted more angst, maybe something just a little more messy to address all the complicated family dynamics. Adored Jax tho!

"Tell me a secret", "Tell me a lie"
"My Josephine"
Devney Perry did it again! What a book! I loved Crossroads so I had to read Sunlight too. This story was filled with love and emotion. I loved the characters and their development. The romance in this book was sweet and intense. I normally don't read a lot of books with the accindental pregnancy trope in it, but this one was just perfectly written! I love Haven River Ranch and I can't wait to see what comes next for this series!
If you're looking for a book that touches your heart and stays with you long after the last page, this one is for you!
Tropes:
- accidental pregnancy

- cowboy
- workplace romance
- forced proximity

Let me just start off by saying, crossroads is one of my FAVORITE books of all time so I knew how much I would love sunlight… because hello??! JAX!!!! I ended up falling in love with Sasha first though. I feel like she’s one of the more complex characters that Devney Perry has written. She has this hard exterior but she just wants to be loved 🥹 She had to grow up way too fast and in result of that, was carrying around alot of guilt and trauma that she didn’t cope well with. She carried around so much sadness when she first got to Montana that weighed her down but I loved how Jax slowly broke her shell and made her come alive. I honestly love that Devney Perry made Sasha hate Montana at first but then by the end, Jax made her love it. The Haven brother’s are SUPERIOR. I wouldn’t be mad if Devney Perry brought in a third long lost brother to add to the story 🤣 And the storyline with Eddie was just gut wrenching. I would LOVE a book about him. Devney Perry added so many elements to this book that just made me absolutely love it. I LOVE this universe!!!!! And I need more more more.
“Tell me a lie.” “I hate Montana.” “Tell me a secret.” “I love you.” 🥹
Thank you Valentine PR for the ARC!!!

Devney has done it again. crossroads was incredible, this was phenomenal. the accidental pregnancy trope is just… ✨, we love her.
I loooooved Jax + Sasha. I loved how patient & just so sweet Jax was to sasha. I could understand sasha being closed off due to her past but in the end it was worth it 💛
“Tell me a lie; tell me a secret” I didn’t cry & I am obsessed with this book 😭 BYE

3.75 stars.
After loving Crossroads I was so excited to return to Haven River Ranch for Jax’s book. While it didn’t hit quite the same for me, I enjoyed he and Sasha’s story as individuals and as a pair, with the added joy of spending more time in a setting that truly feels like a place you can go to find peace.
Haven River Ranch feels like exactly that. The people and the land it sits on give off such a vibe of tranquility and a space that allows anyone who comes there to feel like they can just breathe, especially if they’re facing a difficult time. It’s undoubtedly the kind of place I would want to visit in Montana.
I really enjoyed Jax in this book. Right away his caring heart was demonstrated and it was clear he was a good and decent man. He worked hard but didn’t take life too overly serious. He knew how to approach various scenarios with Sasha—when to push and when to back off. The way he handled the initial baby news felt genuine and the eventual conversation well done. I also liked that his story came around to find some of his own peace with his family.
Sasha was a challenge to get a read on, but there was never any doubt that she was a steadfast character. She had a one-track focus on doing her job and supporting Eddie—though who Eddie is wasn’t revealed until much later in the book. Without any other knowledge, it was clear he was someone she cared about and was willing to sacrifice her own comforts and needs to provide for him. I admired that about her. It made her own reaction to her pregnancy feel genuine.
I wish there had been more time spent with Sasha and Jax together early in the pregnancy. I felt like things progressed rather far without them interacting. It made it difficult to feel invested in them as a couple outside of the baby factor, even after they came around to each other. I didn’t feel as much development between them as I would have liked. I also felt like there was a lot of time jumping that happened and some key scenes I would have loved to see on page were only told about.
Overall this was a nice addition to the series and I hope there is more to come. I would very much like to spend more time in this Montana haven. Thank you to Valentine PR, Devney Perry, NetGalley and Montlake for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

You need to read this series if you haven’t. No secrets or lies to be told here. This series is the move and you need it in your life.
I loved the first one (Crossroads) and then reading this one just solidifies that you NEED to read these books!! I devoured Sunlight in less than 36 hours.
Jax and Sasha are just amazing. I understood why Sasha had built up the walls she did. But the way Jax wanted to get to know her and break down those walls. I love that this wasn’t as rushed as some other books that use the accidental pregnancy trope. (Not a spoiler we all knew that was a trope for this book) some books mention it then she has the kid and the story continues. I loved how this book focused on them falling in love with each other during her pregnancy.
The shock factor I had towards the end when she finally told us about her past and the way Jax responded to it had my jaw hitting the floor. This man is a walking green flag. There were so many things I loved about Jax. And Sasha was an amazing soul that just wanted the best for those she loved (in my opinion).
Thank you Devney for the ARC I absolutely loved it and am honored to have gotten the chance to read it!

Oh my lord!!! I don't know what Devney Perry did with this series but it gets me soooo much into my feels!! Haven River Ranch has been unlike any other Devney Perry book I have read before! There is so much emotion packed into these two books I do not know where to begin!
Sasha moves to Haven River Ranch from California ready for not quite a new start... She gets a job at the resort as a manager, but seems to be pinching pennies. but why? One look at Sasha is all it take for Jax to be thrown for a loop! And let me tell you, this man fell hard for our California girl! The two dance around each other... ALOT!! But all it takes is not one night, but a series of events for the two to turn into neighbors, and pregnant!
I think this book will hit a lot harder for parents. I got choked up, but did not cry (I don't really have a maternal bone in my body). But I think this will hit hard for anyone in a guardian position! I don't want to give up much but... yeah!
Normally I am not on board with a very self deprecating FMC but something about the mystery surrounded by Sasha made it different! You know close to nothing about Sasha, and things slowly come to light. But let me tell you I had some crazy theories going! None were right!
I refuse to give to much away! This is one left better as not knowing much, in my opinion! Just know you will feel all kinds of emotion, you will see all the same people from Crossroads, plus some new friends. Anyone curious if there will be a book 3... I have no help for you, I can see an opening for Emery (OMG LOVE HER), buuutttt I can't fully tell!

I would like to thank Montlake, Valentine PR and of course Devney for this ARC!!
Ever since reading Crossroads I have been excited to read Jax’s story and it didn’t disappoint! I laughed, I cried, and I couldn’t put it down but I also never wanted it to be over!
I am an absolute sucker for a one-night stand and accidental pregnancy, and Devney does them best! 💕
Not only was Jax and Sasha’s story addicting, so was the little bit of mystery and suspense that was also a part of this story!
This book should not be kept a secret 😜 it is a must read in my opinion! ✨

Wow, this is the reason I am a Devney fan 😍
The way Devney tells a story is magic, once you pick up her books I dare you to put them down, you just can’t do it, or at least I can’t, and Sunlight is the perfect example why.
We are back at the Haven River Ranch where we fell in love with West and Indya, only this time it’s West’s brother Jax’s turn at a forever.
Sasha’s life has not been easy, although no one would know that by the way she presents herself. But for some reason Jax can see through it all and sees the woman she really is and that makes falling almost too easy.
This is a beautiful story as only Devney could write, filled with heart and the perfect amount of heat. Do not miss this one, it’s simply too good.

First off I am so thankful for the opportunity to read this ARC. I was obsessed with Crossroads and literally screamed when I got the email.
I was so excited to Jax's book ever since I finished Crossroads. I needed to see this man in love okay and he did not disappoint. But boy did Sasha's history stress me out hahah. Trying to figure out who Eddie was the whole book. Like girl give me some better clues cause I was stress af. But of course everything worked out in the end. Watching Jax & Sasha slowly fall in love and preparing for their baby girl was just amazing. I could not put this book down at all.
The one minor thing that bugged me was the relationship with Lily. I personally wanted him to get into it with her more. She should have heard how much her actions really affected him. Or we could have got a flashback to their fight before college. I would have loved to see that. She needed to be aware of her abuse. I'm glad it got resolved but damn girl holds a grudge.
If you love small town romance and cowboys, this is the perfect book for you. I need to sell all my possessions and move to Montana asap. k thanks. I am really hoping Emery gets a book next cause I need more of this town.

In my accidental pregnancy era! Thank you Devney!
The Haven River Ranch series continues to shine and I stand by my review for Crossroads where I said that I believe this is the best writing by Devney Perry and that stands to be true for this second book.
Jax and Sasha were perfect and lived up to the hype I built for them after reading the last book. This book was less angsty than Crossroads but no less emotional. I can’t speak enough about this series and how much of a fan I am of this. Cannot wait to see it continue and hoping we get Emery and Zac’s story, and even Eddie’s!
This book and series is great for binging during the cooler, cozier days. Definitely recommend to anyone who hasn’t read Devney Perry’s books yet. I think this is a great place to start.
4 stars!

I’m sitting here eating breakfast while sobbing for this beautiful story I just finished. Sunlight is such an amazing story that I absolutely needed. Sasha and Jax have captivated me from the very beginning with the secrets and the lies, but most importantly feeling the absolute love and adoration throughout this entire story.
A one night stand turned accidental pregnancy, Jax and Sasha struggle to communicate their feelings and emotions. Jax knows he has to be gentle with Sasha. She has many secrets and is very guarded. He’s determined to break down those walls though. There is something so special about their chemistry that she’s not just another roll in the hay, she’s the one that’s making him rethink relationships and the future.
Sasha is still dealing with secrets from her past. She knows eventually she will have to tell Jax all her secrets. But… not yet.
Jax is so very patient with her and Sasha knows she’s holding back. Since all good things seem to be taken from her. She’s afraid to get hurt and lose the goodness again so she keeps Jax at an arms length. But that’s been just as heartbreaking as losing him would be.
Slowly but surely Jax wins her over with his heart of gold. This might be my favorite book of the year with how the author made me swoon, made me oh so happy, but also made me tear up (in a good way!). This book is just the perfect kinda cowboy romance that you need in your life.

I loved Sasha and Jax together. Their chemistry was evident, from the moment they met. Watching Sasha and Jax be vulnerable with each other, was heartwarming. They both overcame so much in life and deserve all the happiness.
Devney Perry’s writing always has a way of captivating me. I read this book in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down.
Sunlight is more than just a cowboy romance, it’s a beautiful story of family, love forgiveness and redemption.
