Ugh this series. Chefs kiss. I love anything Devney Perry writes, and being able to read it early was so amazing. I feel so thankful!!

From the first page, I was hooked. The story itself was simply perfect. Suspenseful, romantic, heartbreaking, beautiful and hopeful. Jax was an amazing man who was prepared to stand tall and strong for the people he loved, and Sasha was such an amazing individual, kind, and strong. I love the author's work. The story had come to its conclusion. I would read more about each individual because they were all incredible.

Thanks to her and Neutrally & Montlake for this opportunity to read it in advance!

Starts out as a meet cute at the local supermarket. Jax and Sasha’s story was definitely a slow burn. Turns out that she’s his new employee and hiding secrets from everyone. I will say I wish I connected more with Sasha’s character for the first half of the book. She had been through a lot and was definitely stand off ish at times. Loved how persistent Jax was with breaking down her walls. The “tell me a lie” and “tell me a secret” game they played was great banter. I liked the mystery thrown in with Eddie’s letters. The ending was super cute.

Would love to see more Emery in the future, I enjoyed reading more about her story.

Devney Perry is one of my favorite romance authors. Although this was not my favorite of her books, it was nice to return to Haven River Ranch.

“Three words and I could breathe. For the first time in what felt like my whole life, I could breathe.”

“Secrets were heavy, especially when you carried them alone.”

Thank you Valentine Pr for the ARC

I love an accidental pregnancy and this was no different.

I have been curious about Jax since reading crossroads and he did not disappoint. His and Sasha’s story was so heartfelt and sweet. It was impossible not to fall in love with them.

I do think it’s hard to nail the timeline and pacing in an accidental pregnancy book because you have to cover so much time, so the time hops throughout the book threw me off a bit, but overall I really enjoyed it!

Devney Perry is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. She has become an "auto buy," "have to read" author for me.
I have to admit after seeing the tropes, I was a little reluctant. There is a trope that I don't always love in this book, but Devney nailed it. I absolutely loved this book.
Jax is an MMC with so many layers. He is so much more than what people perceive him to be. Sasha is new to Montana and looking for a fresh start. When Jax and Sasha meet, there is an instant connection, but they both have built up walls due to their past. Like Crossroads (book 1 ), there is a bit of mystery mixed in that keeps you hooked while reading.
I loved the forbidden/workplace romance. Their banter was amazing! I loved seeing them both learn to trust and bond throughout the story was incredible. The author has such a unique way of making you feel so connected to the characters, their emotions, and to the story as a whole.
I was so sad to say goodbye to Haven River Ranch. I love these characters, setting, and story so much.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️+!!!

if you’re sick of hearing me profess my undying love for devney perry and every single book she’s ever written, that’s too bad. i loved jax & sasha’s story so SO much. i don’t think any story could ever top my love for crossroads, but sunlight was a very, very close runner up. this story was just so sweet, heartwarming, and nostalgic— full of classic devney tropes in a new setting—it was impossible not to enjoy it!

jax and sasha are everything! i knew their story was gonna be a fun time—a small-town romance with a cowboy (who happens to be ber secret crush, oops...and her kinda sorta boss, double oops) that winds up in a positive pregnancy test?! who wouldn’t love that. but i didn’t expect it to be as intense and emotional as it was. jax and sasha’s romance wasn’t smooth sailing. it was hard and complicated, but they way they supported each other and grew to genuinely love one another made it all so worthwhile! their story plucked at my heartstrings, and even made me shed a tear or two near the end.

sasha & jax’s story is more than an accidental pregnancy romance. it’s about more than a girl who falls in love with her boss. it’s not simply a small-town cowboy romance. it’s chock full of forgiveness and redemption, and friendship and family. it’s a beautiful story about love and loss, and showing up through thick and thin 💛

i love them & i loved every minute of their story! i already miss haven river ranch so much, i can’t wait to return!

Round up to 4.5✨

Sunlight surpassed all my expectations and then some especially because it has a trope I normally shy away from. BUT IT IS DONE PERFECTLY👏🏻👏🏻

Sasha moves to Montana and Haven River Ranch as a new fresh start from something we can see in the beginning she is running from. She hates it there though, and what she hates even more is Jax and their brilliant meet-cute, the tension she feels when he is near and just all the undeniable chemistry. Known for his playboy ways, Sasha stays as far as possible away, until one night she gives in.

Tropes for this book:
🤠 Cowboy Romance
🤠 Rake turned Romantic
🤠 Dislike to slowly falling in love
🤠 Surprise pregnancy
🤠 Small Town Romance

Clear some space on your shelves because Devney is in her cowboy era and she is NAILING it. We now have had the privilege to fall in love with two handsome ranchers and this small town they call home.

Devney’s way of writing honestly makes you feel like you are there. Breathing the same air, seeing the sites. Its just glorious and transporting and just the purest bliss of escapism.

I loved Jax and Sasha’s story, as complicated as it is. But she allows us and Jax to slowly unravel Sasha and understand who she is. They are total opposites who were just made for one another. Jax’s patience🤌🏻 *chef’s kiss*

I also loved how Sunlight is a romcom, but also very emotional and extremely deep, displaying vulnerability from not just the two limelight characters but also many others. Though we focus on Jax and Sasha, so many other characters get their fair share of spotlight and delving into their pasts and now decisions for the future will break your heart and put it back together.

I cannot recommend this author and this series enough. October is cowboy month, saddle up🐎

Jax & Sasha meet outside the grocery store and instantly have insane chemistry but then she works out he's kind of her boss and she's not interested in anything messy or complicated.

Unfortunately (or kind of fortunately really) for Sasha, Jax isn't interested in keeping his distance and he eventually wins her over 🫶

But then Sasha finds out she's pregnant.

Now I know there are a lot of people that don't love the accidental/surprise pregnancy trope but I am not one of them.

Watching Jax and Sasha navigate all of the ups and downs of pregnancy, figuring out how to work as a team & decide what they want from each other and for each other was gorgeous.

They worked so perfectly together and I adored every minute of their story.

This one follows Jax and Sasha. Both have had really difficult and sad things happen in their lives. Watching the two of learn to love and trust each other was wonderful.

I’ll tell you a lie. This was a horrible book.

I’ll tell you a secret. I highly recommend this one.

This was a damn good book! I ate it up! Jax was such a sweet man with somewhat of a broken soul until a chance encounter with Sasha at a grocery store that changed everything. It took a while for Sasha to come to Jax emotionally because of her past but it turned out beautifully! Oh and did I mention a surprise pregnancy? One of my favorite tropes!

This was perfection.I Loved it.

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love Devneys work, and Sunlight may be one of my new favourites💗

I absolutely loved being back in the world of Haven River Ranch! When I read Crossroads (which I recommend you do first) I was desperate to get to know Jax, and boy he didn’t disappoint. He was the perfect mix of golden retriever mmc and totally swoon worthy talk 👀 His backstory and character arc was so good and definitely tugged at my heart strings at times.

Sasha, how I could relate to this fmc. She was very closed off, with walls so high but once Jax broke them down it was so sweet to see these two together. I felt the timeline of the relationship pretty believable as Jax took his time getting to know Sasha and not pushing her too hard.

Like every other Devney Perry book I’ve read my favourite parts is definitely the found family. I loved how Sunlight linked in with the ending of Crossroads and how the story progressed from there, not just for Sasha and Jax but also for Indya and West!

5 stars!

Oh, my heart, what a beautiful read! A small-town, surprise pregnancy romance with a broken but strong and stubborn heroine and a hero to die for who falls hard and fast, I devoured every moment of this book and I absolutely loved it!

This is the second book in the Haven River Ranch series. It’s the story of Jax Haven, brother of West, hero of book #1, Crossroads. And though you should absolutely read the first book, because it’s another amazing read, you can read this one as a standalone.

Jax and Sasha have a very entertaining meet-cute, and the flirting is strong until Sasha realises that Jax is her soon-to-be-almost-boss, and she puts her walls up. They already pretty high, but she reinforces them, and as she settles into her new life managing Jax’s family ranch and resort, she keeps herself isolated and ignores the gorgeous cowboy as much as she can. Until their mad chemistry becomes irresistible, and one smoking hot night together (that she immediately tries to forget) results in a pregnancy which rocks both of their worlds.

It's a hard-fought-for but beautiful journey for Jax and Sasha. She is determined to be independent, to keep her walls up and not let anybody in, and though Jax respects her boundaries, he’s all in from the very beginning, and the man stole my heart. He is patient, caring and kind, but he’s also a guy who doesn’t hold back, and I loved how he put himself out there to care for and win his girl.

Sasha’s story unfolds slowly throughout the book. We know she has emotional baggage, and we know she’s dealing with some serious grief and other issues from her past. The hints kept me guessing, but I was wrong in my predictions, and I loved how her full backstory was finally revealed. My heart ached for her, but I loved watching her find the strength to slowly let go, and to fully trust and give her heart over to Jax, who was there and ready for her every step of the way.

“I’ve got you. When it comes to the baby and life and all things. I’ve got you.”

I loved getting to know these characters. They are well developed, I cared so much for both of them, and they’re so freaking good together! There is some family drama that they both need to confront, and once again Jax shines as we see him being all protective and strong, while showing his own vulnerabilities. He has a best friend who is going through her own hell, and their relationship is a fantastic highlight of the book, and West and Indya are there with them being awesome through it all.

I loved everything about this book. It made me laugh, smile and swoon, and I fell in mad love with these characters and their story. Such a gorgeous romance with humour and heart, the kind that Devney Perry writes so well.

A fantastic read – 5 stars.

I loved this book so much. So Much. I loved being back on Haven River Ranch with the characters I quickly grew to love in Crossroads.

Sasha and Jax were are in my top 3 favorite Devney Perry couples for sure and no I have not read her entire backlist but I have made a pretty big dent.

I loved them individually and I loved them together. Through all of their secrets, lies, and stories. I had the best time with them. So many soft and sweet moments, so many emotional and some heartbreaking moments. Probably also some of the hottest moments in the Devney Perry Universe?

Read if you love family, small towns, cowboys, and feeling your emotions.

Lie: This book sucked and didn't make me cry.
Secret: I would've read 200 more pages of it.
Story: Go read it on October 15th :)

Tropes:
Accidental Pregnancy
Forced Proximity
Small Town
Cowboy Romance

I am *not* a surprise pregnancy trope fan. The couples never mesh and are literally only together because of a baby.

HOWEVER, I love Devney Perry and was really excited to get more Haven River Ranch.

Jax is a perfect book boyfriend. He and Sasha are a good yin and yang. He's very playful and unserious and she is more uptight. Their chemistry and connection were great from the beginning. While the pregnancy does force them together in a faster time frame, they read like a couple that would have gotten together eventually anyway.

OH MY how I love this series! The broody ranchers, the delicious tension, the idyllic setting, and the gentle and unexpected love stories that unfold capture my heart every time! Sunlight was such a sweet, swoony, and heart-filling love story. Chock full of tropes I adore (surprise baby! Small town broody rancher) and so much emotional tenderness, I gobbled this audio RIGHT UP. Devney pairs a sweet and fiery character chemistry with two really emotionally rich characters arcs - so this one definitely had

After Crossroads, I was SO excited to get Jax’s story. Not only to get his romantic HEA, but I’d hoped we’d get to dig into all of Jax’s family issues uncovered in Crossorwards. And Devney delivers all that and MORE. Not only do we come to terms with some family drama, but Jax also finds himself in a sexy frenemies attraction with the ranch’s new manager…and after one explosive night they find themselves unexpected parents to be.

I really related so much to Sasha. Yes, she’s closed off, untrusting, fiercely independent, and has some bite to her sweetness. But she’s also just HURTING and a bit broken by emotional scars. I loved watching her come to terms with being a mama, finding vulnerability and safety in Jax’s arms, seeing her soften and find her HOME after not having one for so long. And finding so much healing. And Jax too finds healing. He’s so deliciously sexy and swoony- he falls hard and fast and gives off major goldie vibes. He’s dreamy, but he’s also struggling with his own past pains. And both have to learn to open up…and to fast their pasts.

Their chemistry is really fun- tons of banter, tons of heat, but also so much emotional tenderness. It’s a romantic slow burn (after the fast burn of course)- but I really loved how they both fall before they even realize it. Their situationship becomes so much more. And i’m a HO for all the protective daddy to be energy. I loved how Sasha learned to lean on Jax, and he learned to lean on her too. I did find the twist a little predictable (more so I knew what it WASN"T LOL- that red herring) and the resolution felt a little easy for all the family drama, but I did appreciate the lower angst quality once they got together, and I'm glad these two found some closure with their pasts.

The audio was impeccably performed by Stephen Dexter and Ava Erickson. I loved the vulnerability and emotional range both brought to the performances. I listened to this in one delicious sitting because I was so enamored.

Haven River Ranch is fast becoming one of my favorite Denvey worlds, and I hope we have more to come! And thank you SO Much Denvey for the amazing bookmail and this print that literally made me squeal from the cuteness! I can’t even with how wonderfully this captures this adorable couple. So excited to have these goodies for my Devney shelf!

Devney can do no wrong in my eyes and Sunlight just confirms that belief for me.

Why you’ll love it:
- accidental pregnancy
- forced proximity
- small town
- cowboy romance

Accidental pregnancy has become a favorite trope recently — authors like Devney are doing it such justice. In this case, I loved seeing Jax and Sasha go from strangers to coworkers to lovers to expecting parents —- all the while breaking down walls and gently, gradually falling in love with each other. That plus the secrets Sasha is holding close to her heart, grounded in trauma and a life spent with so much pressure on her shoulders, was written so vividly that I couldn’t put this book down.

What an emotional read — I shed tears, especially near the end of this book — that was wrapped up so beautifully.

Haven River Ranch is one of my favorite fictional places — Crossroads and now Sunlight have been joys to read, though they have been full of complex emotions, because the storylines are so compelling and characters are those you are rooting for from the moment they appear on the page.

Sunlight is a beautiful way to wrap up this short series, one I’d gladly read 50 books about. What an accomplishment by Devney — and what a gift to all us readers who love her writing so much.

Thanks to her and Valentine PR for this opportunity to read it in advance! 💛

I've been waiting for their book since I read Crossroads, and it totally didn't disappoint. I'm an accidental pregnancy girly. When I hear that some readers don't like this trope, I'm like MORE FOR ME. 😂 I ate this one up!!! Devney can release all these accidental pregnancies, and I'll never get tired of it. Lol

I LOVE Jax and Sasha. Jax is totally a book boyfriend goal!!! Their banter, the tension, the growth, the love.... Everything was perfect!!! Gave me all the feels!!

Sasha moved to Montana for a new job at Haven River Ranch. Sasha and Jax had a meet cute, and he was totally smitten with her. But she found out he was going to be her boss so she drew a line. But of course she likes him too. She can't resist him for long. 😏 They ended up having a one night stand, and she got pregnant. And boy did Jax show up for her. But Sasha was still a mystery. I won't spoil it.

The side characters though. Love every single one of them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Emery and Zak's book. A spin off maybe. 👀

Another HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOOK you should pick up!!!

We’re back at Haven River Ranch and I never want to leave!!

This series somehow just got even better and I love Jax & Sasha SO MUCH! Their story is full of undeniable chemistry and vulnerability. They got off to a rocky start, but one night flips their world upside down when it leads to an accidental pregnancy. They decide they should get to know each other, and it’s the most heartwarming journey.

Jax is such a lover boy. He’s patient with Sasha and protective af of all the people in his life. A wonderful book bf for us!
