Destiny Amor is starting her business as a proposal planner. So what if she never found love and had a list of what her Mr. Right should look like, which seems impossible to achieve? She has everything planned to start her business unless the first marriage proposal she gets is a total disaster and Mr. Grumpy volunteers to help her much-needed business. He is so far off her list he could never be Mr. Right…. Right?
Ok, let’s get this off the table. Yes the FMC name is Destiny Love and you will say that is cheesy as hell but I don’t care. Do I know any Portuguese people whose last name is Amor? Nope, but her mother being Portuguese and the way Melissa talked about Braga deserves forgiveness for that last name. Go eat a bolinho de bacalhau if you think it’s cheesy (just don’t eat those with cheese - no one deserves that).
Now that’s out of the way, this is such a cute rom-com. Destiny is so innocent and dreams of everything that needs to be perfect. She is definitely your sunshine character. She just wants to bring a smile to everyone’s life and help people. While Fletch is the opposite, very rational, he has had a relationship once and it ended in divorce. He knows what it’s like to be in a relationship and end in failure because it was not just meant to be. While he is grumpy and sometimes we can feel in his soul that he believes Destiny is a little gullible, he is very close to a regular person. Destiny sometimes can feel very intense again with all her good nature, but Fletcher is clearly just a regular person who is trying to live his life quietly.
Destiny has all the ingredients to make Fletch see that life can be enjoyed: while he helps her with the business plan, website, and finances, Fletcher can still realise that love is something that can be obtained. Destiny also learns with all the experiences she has with Fletcher that love is something that you never know when it’s coming, sometimes love finds you immediately once you set eyes on the person, sometimes it takes years of friendship, sometimes it goes and comes back. The “Mr. Right checklist” starts as something that Destiny deems necessary when she meets the perfect guy, it’s a list of what she has dreamed of when she thinks about the perfect love. But love is imperfect, people are imperfect and so are relationships, but they all carry moments and through those moments Destiny and Fletcher find out that their previous notions of love are not as good as the real sentiment.
“Mr Right Checklist” is the perfect rom-com book for those who believe in love and want a feel-good romantic story. Sometimes that is really all you need, something cute, uplifting and that will make you smile.

A new favorite Rom Com for me. This book was hilarious. Deserves to be a movie if you ask me.
Destiny was such a breath of fresh air for a FMC. She was unapologetically herself- speaks her mind, loves love, loyal and so Southern charm. I instantly fell in love with her. And honestly, I fell in love with Grumpy Gus aka Fletcher the moment he told Destiny not to let his dog wear bows. He is such a golden retriever MMC. He seemed so aloof and grouchy on the outside but he was so caring especially for his family, Molly & Destiny.
The storyline was perfect and Destiny’s checklist for Mr Right was epically hilarious. I really enjoyed that the author included her checklist in its entirety. The dual POV always makes the story ten times better.
I would highly recommend this book especially if you love:
✔️ fake dating
✔️ grumpy x sunshine
✔️ rom com
✔️ opposites attract
-ARC READ. Thank you to the author for an e-arc of this book for my honest review.

❤️📖 This is a standalone book, with new characters, release day November 19th 📖❤️
This book is the right choice if you have a bad mood, because after few pages you will smile and laugh. Yes, that is the power Destiny Amor has.
A woman with painfull past but still fighting a bringing good mood and smile to people around. And even ,, Grumpy Gus''-Ryan can't resist and falls under her spell and her.
Ms. Foster did it again and brought another great book, where two people who are not atracted to each other realise very soon they are exactly what they need, but it take a little time to understand, and meanwhile we get many funny situations, I really loved Destinies rumblings- like the meeting with Ryan family and explaining his layers 🤣 oh boy ... But Ryan has really many layers and soon Grumpy changes into sensitive and caring man who tries to fight his chemistry with Destiny, but he soon learns he can't win this battle.
His family is amazong and supportive and I loved the banter between the brothers.
I can imgine to get stories for many sidecharacters, so we will see, vut until then pick up this book and have some find with Ryan and Destiny and their adorable pets.

I devoured this book in less than a day! It was a quick and fun read but also full of heart and emotions. Destiny and Fletch are both likable characters that were easy to fall in love with. I also really liked Fletch’s family. This book has great banter and the chemistry between Fletch and Destiny is off the charts! It is a little bit of a slow burn but I loved watching these two become friends first. There is a little bit of miscommunication but it wasn’t bad and didn’t take away from the story. Overall this was a very enjoyable read!

This was my first Melissa Foster book and I don’t think it will be my last. What a fun and often funny book. The grumpy/sunshine and fake dating were perfect tropes in this book.
“Fletch” the grumpy dog dad and professor and Destiny the dog groomer and proposal planner were great together. Her sunshine personality was spot on and his grumpy exterior with a soft spot for her was so sweet.
There were lots of other characters who have books of their own so I am looking forward to going back and reading those stories.

This was such a cute romance. And even though it wasn’t a full meet cute but the meeting is the park was definitely the best! I felt like it definitely suited destiny and her bubbly unorganized personality perfectly. Fletch was such a little grump that I loved him immediately.

This is such a fun and delightful read! Melissa delivered an amazing story with fun and quirky characters that will make you laugh and swoon.
Destiny is a delightful character who is has faced some tough challenges but she still has an amazing, cheerful and wonderful attitude.
Ryan “Fletch” is a grumpy businessman but on the inside he is sweet and goey.
They have amazing banter and chemistry. An easy read that will warm your heart!
Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for the complimentary copy.

From the first page I knew I was going to enjoy this book as much as most of the books I’ve read written by Melissa Foster.
The chemistry between Ryan and Destiny shines through the narrative from the very beginning.
I loved the story and just could not put the book down.
A bit of spice, a lot of romance, friendship and a good storyline. Just what this author always delivers.
4.5 stars

I enjoyed this grumpy/sunshine romantic read. The two main characters, Destiny and Fletch, were interesting and easy to get to know. Their relationship evolved beautifully and their sexy times were hot. In addition, Destiny's dog was a hoot. Overall, a solid read.

Sweet vs. grumpy romance. I've been waiting for Fletch for a while now and glad he finally got his own story. Destiny was a great addition to Melissa's series of books. I love books that can be standalone but if you know past series you can also enjoy that history and walk down memory lane.

This author is a go- to for me. So I was thrilled to get my hands on this book! This book checked all the boxes for me: Small town, dog owner, fake dating. I didn't love the short 3rd break up as it seems a little unnecessary.
MC: Destiny and Fletcher
Grumpy dog owner & professor
Sunshine dog groomer & proposal planner
Small Town
Fake Dating
Meet cute -ish
Rom com
Short third act breakup
Dual 1st pov

Cute story! After having interacting with Fletcher through her work she wrote him off as a grump and opposite of her checklist of her dream guy. When a botched proposal goes wrong they have they’re not so meet cute. Not quite strangers but but have their real first interaction. The woman in love with live and the jaded determined to stay single man. Neither of them are each other’s ideal partner. As they get to know one another they realize what they thought they wanted is slowly becoming opposite of what they need. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for this free advanced copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily

Could. Not. Put. This. Book. Down. I had to finish it. It gave me ideas for my own Mr.Right checklist

4 Stars for this cute rom com
Destiny's quirkiness made her so loveable, but she seemed to be pretty clueless about life ... especially for someone who wanted to start a business. Fletch tried to be this grumpy guy who didn't need love ... but he failed miserably. He kept saying that Destiny and him were only friends, but his actions said different. This book made me laugh one minute and swoon the next. If you're looking for a feel good rom com, then this is the book for you.
When Destiny's father passes away, she moves to be close to her best friend, as that's the only person she has left. She works as a part-time pet groomer while she starts her own business ... a proposal planner. When her first booking goes very bad, the groom to be offers to help her get her business off the ground. Fletch can't believe that his dog's groomer took part in that mess in the park, so he offers to help her with her business and in turn, she'll pretend to be his girlfriend for his brother's wedding, so everyone in his family will get off his back about finding his forever love. But things often don't turn out like they're supposed to.

This grumpy/sunshine rom com was hilariously delightful. Prepare to fall in love with Destiny and Fletcher and to be left wanting more!

I should have LOVED this book, but, for me, it just fell flat. It wasn't horrible, it was just meh. I read it through quickly, but it seemed to me to have just a lot of filler. It could have been a really nice short story, but it just seemed to try too much. I'm sure there will be many people who absolutley love this book, it just didn't work for me. I will admit that I've never read this author before and I may just have not gotten the nuances of the book. If this is part of a series, that may be my problem.
The writing was good, the story just was a bit too unrealistic for me.

The Mr. Right Checklist checks off all things that I love in a Melissa Foster book!! It has a couple that doesn't seem like that they go together but they really do! It has a great side characters - family, friends, and former characters from other books....which I really love!! It has romance, spice, and an interesting story line!!! I couldn't put this book down once I started!!!

I fell in love with this story the moment I started reading it and couldn’t put it down. Destiny and Fletch are amazing and their story is just a joy to read.
Destiny is a ray of sunshine, she loves love, and her personality is infectious. Honestly, she just makes you smile. Fletch is a grump, he is much more reserved, and really likes to keep to himself. These two are total opposites, yet they work so well together. Destiny brings out a different side to Fletch and I love how much he supports her and doesn’t try and change who she is.
This story is just a joy to read. It is light, it is funny, there is some spice sprinkled in. These two are a true grumpy/sunshine story. I love love love this story so much. From Destiny, to Fletch, to their two pets, and Fletch’s family. There is just so much joy to this story.
If you’re looking for a small town, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract rom com check this one out.

Really enjoyed the story and found Foster's writing style to my liking. The pace was on point and the characters and their banter were fun. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

3.5 stars. I found Destiny to not be as digestible as Fletch. It could be that there was a lot of dialogue to make up for the 1st person POV. Not sure. I loved the storyline, although I’m not sure a proposal business would be a good venture. Still, I had fun reading. I suppose I’ll stick to Ms. Foster’s other series which are always amazing!
