Textbook Romance completely surprised me, and this one hooked me right away. Zoe, fresh out of a messy marriage, meets Jack, younger but ready to grow up and settle down. The age gap tension, sharp dialogue, and mix of humor and heartbreak made the story shine. I loved the dual POV - it gave such a real feel to their chemistry. Jack and Zoe were addictive to read about.

A fun easy read which had me laughing out loud. Zoe and Jacks story and a major age gap! And how they navigate this.
The story is told from both of the main characters and it works.
Definitely worth a read

This is a like a fun romcom. It's a hilarious, heartwarming story about second chances, disastrous dating, and the messiness of falling for someone when you least expect it. The main character Zoe is witty, unfiltered and relatable which I loved. The romance is clunky, honest and full of baggage which makes it feel real as well. Overall, a great read!

What a cute yet surprisingly steamy book this was! When Zoe Swift meets a nice, albeit younger, man at a wedding, she thinks he is just a fun person to flirt with. By the end of the night, however, this man, Jack, helps her when her worst nightmares come true- her husband is spotted cheating on her by one of her kid’s friends. Zoe thinks she will likely never see Jack again, but to her surprise he shows up as a substitute at her school where she is a math teacher. Let’s just say, these two make up a perfect number! (Horrible math pun I know, sorry, I’m a nurse!).

This was such a cute, romantic and certainly spicy book. I loved Jack as a main male character, he was incredibly charming, and set in trying to get Zoe to live her life to the fullest. I have not read a true age gap romance, and I loved how it was handled in this one! It didn’t feel icky at all. I appreciated how Zoe grounded Jack a bit as well, and the ending was just perfect. It was entertaining and certainly had me laughing out loud at parts. I definitely enjoyed this, and felt it was a perfect back to school romance. This was my first Kristen Bailey, but it won’t be my last.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an advanced reader’s copy of this book. All opinions within this review are my own.

I'm always a sucker for a book that takes place in a school setting. Textbook Romance was so much more than a regular rom-com story. With the age difference between the two characters, it reminded me a lot of the tv show "Younger."

I enjoyed both of the characters. It reminded me of so many people in my life that I find myself recommending this book constantly. Love, divorce, raising kids as a single mom, school setting, age differences, and so much more. It had just the right amount of spice for me also.

This is my first book by Kristen Bailey and it definitely won't be my last. I hope her other books are as entertaining as this one.

Thank you to NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and Kristen Bailey for my free copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.

I found this book light and funny. I didn’t engage with it like I have done some other books recently but still found it a solid enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for the arc.

Even though sometimes the writing felt a little bit forced. Also the age gap caught me by a surprise but I moatly enjoyed the book. I loved the relationship between FMC and her kids, the love and how she always want to protect them.

The ending felt a little bit rushed and it felt like something was missing. But overall it was a super cute, short and easy read.

I think it was what I needed to get out of my reading slump.

I always love books by this author, and Textbook Romance was just another goodie to add to the list of fun reads.

There is humour, there is romance, there is some spice, and there is also the heart stopping few pages where you aren't sure how everyone is going to get their happily ever after. Fun and sweet, I really loved the dual POV, flicking between Zoe and Jack.

Loved it!

This Book ❤️

I just love Kristen Bailey books - They are always filled with adorable storylines, wonderful characters & have so much quirky and funny moments throughout that it's hard to find fault with anything and this book is the perfect example of a flawless romance read.

Textbook Romance is perhaps my favourite book of Kristens. It is a definate & worthy 5 stars from me and I just adored it.

I was hooked from the very beginning and read it in one sitting.

Kristen always gives us such a character driven story and what wonderful characters we got in this one. (Everyone needs a Jack in their Life)

Textbook Romance is a contemporary romance book featuring an age gap relationship but it also includes some heavy topics - Cheating, divorce, helping children navigate new family dynamics - (to name a few) so dont expect just a standard rom com or the usual love story ~ It is so much more than that.

It is not like other Romance books (which is a good thing IMO as a lot of them can come across as very samey and soppy and not at all like real life.

Zoe (44) and Jack (29) meet at a wedding on the night Zoe finds out her husband of 20+ years has been cheating on her with her best friend.

Zoe is a mum to two kids and is a maths teacher at a local high school.
Not long after her initial meeting of Jack at their friends wedding, she runs into him again at work and it turns out he's got a new job as a teacher at the school she teaches at.

They hit it off and the story of their relationship continues from there.

Zoe is quite a few years older than Jack and in the midst of her impending divorce (and with all her life baggage) - she struggles a lot with the age difference as the attraction between them grows.

The different stages of life they are both at certainly makes their romance far from smooth sailing.

This is such a lovely story guys - really natural and genuine and felt real as opposed to just a fairytale romance (Some Romance books tend to be far fetched and unbelivable at times but this book was neither)

The character dynamics were what made it a 5 star read, for me. It is an uplifting read filled with witty humour and a sweet love story but also explores the complexities of real life - the breakdown of a marriage and the start of a new relationship.

Told from the POV of both Jack and Zoe, which I really liked, It was nice to hear the story told from both their point of view.

And can I just say ... I LOVED the ending ❤️

This was such an easy book to immerse myself into and I enjoyed everything about it!

Thanks so much to Netgalley and the author Kristen Bailey for an ARC of this one in exchange for my honest review.

If you are looking for a feel good read that will make your soul happy then this is the book for you!

A cute fluffy read and its getting 5 stars from me!

Textbook Romance is a delightful, feel-good story that blends humor, heart, and a touch of chemistry. Zoe Swift’s journey from heartbreak to rediscovering love with the charming and funny Jack Damon is both refreshing and relatable. The age gap dynamic adds an interesting layer of complexity, especially as Zoe navigates life as a single mom and the aftermath of her husband's betrayal. The chemistry between Zoe and Jack is electric, and their banter is pure fun. With witty moments, heartfelt growth, and a great balance of humor and emotion, this romance is a captivating read. Perfect for fans of contemporary love stories!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Zoe and Jack. They meet at a wedding where they both know the groom. While they are talking Zoe gets a call from her daughter saying her father (Zoe’s husband) was at a restaurant with another woman. There was an attraction. Zoe and her husband are divorcing. Jack gets a job at her school. They try to be friends. They go at her speed. They fall in love.
