I loved the Clifton Chronicles and have also loved the entire William Warwick series. In fact, I have loved everything that Archer has written.

There's not too much to say about this one- the latest installment in the battle between Miles Faulkner and Warwick (and the team).

Finishing this one, I'm led to believe that the next outing will be the last in the Warwick series. In a way I am sad about that as I love the series but I'm also glad that it's coming to an end when it's still enjoyable and it's not being milked too much like other series.

Archer has knocked it out of the park again. An Eye for an Eye is the 7th book in the Warwick series and each story just gets better and better. Warwick has developed as a character, along with his wife and children. Ross, his sidekick features along with old adversary Miles, bent on revenge having spent three years in prison.

This outing involves art forgery, murders and double dealing over a Middle East oil deal together with Warwick’s life under threat. Different strands all running together and deftly woven by Archer’s immaculate storytelling. I have to say I was late to the Archer table having spent years dismissing him as an author. I didn’t like his politics and I misjudged him as an individual. I was bowled over by his prison diaries and then explored his fiction and for pure escapist adventure, he’s hard to beat. It’s easy to get lost in Warwick’s world where Archer’s knowledge of art is superb. There’s pace and tension, skilled plotting and at the heart, a really great ripping yarn that’s enveloping. This has kept me gripped from start to finish. Not a spare word and the chapters are short and snappy…just one more, just one more literally a real page turner. Loved this and I hope the final book in the series is underway. Cant wait!

Where does it say that this is a short extract? I was really disappointed and can’t really give much of a review. I liked the little II read.

What another excellent book in the William Warwick series, I simply couldn't put the book down until I had finished it – my sign that it’s a great book!

The main characters are great and I love the way Warwick and Faulkner try to ‘out do’ each other to get the better of the other person! The main characters are great as always and the new ones for this book were enjoyable too. Definitely a book I’d highly recommend!

Unfortunately it was not made clear that it was an extract - a short one at that. The review is purely for the extract and not the usual 4 or 5 stars for the complete book.

I’m sorry but i thought we are getting the whole book and not just the first chapters ?
I can not post a review based only on this.
