Sue Moorcroft is one of my ALL time favourite authors. I can't beleive it when I'm giving the opportunity to read any of her books. Andnsometimes wish I hadn't come across some of them just so I could read them all fresh once more!
She really is a cherished author for me.
I can't wait to get stuck back into these characters every time I hear there is a new one. And this time we are on book 2 of the Skye sisters stories.
The characters are brilliant. The storyline is brilliant. The setting gorgeous...take me there please. Every book of hers I'd like to be a villager and be one of the community.
You won't hear a bad word from me about this book. Or the author. I even have a very real.dread that one day I'll have read them all and or she won't write anymore. Yes yes that is how much books and special authors of talent mean to me.

"A Skye Full of Stars" is the second book in a trilogy by Sue Moorcroft about the Wynter sisters. The women were all adopted but are closer than many birth sisters. The book can be read as a stand-alone novel but is even better when given the full context of the first of the trilogy. This time the main focus is on Esmerelda (aka Ezz or Ezzie), the middle sister and a career woman who was recently promoted.

At the heart of the story are friendship, love and, above all, families. Characters come from different walks of life, and even different nationalities, and include some really cute children. This is a great book to curl up with and get engrossed in.

I loved this second book in this series about two sisters who have been living on the island of Skye. They are brilliant characters, easy to like and understand. Both sisters work at a stately house/hotel. Ezz is now the manager of the estate and Thea is the head gardener. Both are still loving life in Skye. When the owners are arriving early they both need to work hard to make it happen.
I love the setting, Skye is a beautiful island and the author does make you fall in love with it. Love the Doric words and the food mentions. I enjoyed the Scandinavian present in this book too, having lived there it brought back so much memories. It’s filled with family, relationships and new beginnings. This book gives you a warm fuzzy feeling while reading it. A cozy 5 star read.

This is the second book set on the Isle of Skye featuring the Wynter sisters. I was so looking forward to reading this and it certainly was worth the wait. I cannot wait to read the next book featuring Valentina.
This book was about the middle sister Esmerelda known as Ezzie.
It was great to have some of the characters back from book one Thea’s story, but having said that both of these books can be read as a standalone.
Ezzie is the manager of Rothach Hall on the Isle of Skye, preparing for a Christmas visit from the owners and their family the Larsson’s. The Larsson’s live and run their fisheries business in Sweden, Rothach Hall is their holiday home where part of it is open to visitors to help its upkeep.
Ezzie is feeling the pressure, she best start preparing for the families arrival.

I so enjoy reading Sue Moorcroft’s books they have characters that represent true life, warts and all.
Because the Larsson’s are Swedish there were traditions of food and drink, Swedish culture mentioned and I found that so interesting. I even picked up some Swedish words which I hope to remember.
The descriptions of Skye are so vivid I felt as if I was there, and to be honest would have liked to have been joining in with the festivities.
The book covers some sensitive issues handled well.
I totally enjoyed reading this book, and look forward to the next in the series.

What a lovely Christmas treat to return to Skye in the Scottish Highlands, while a little slow to start, the story soon picked up at the wonderful Rothach Hall with families melding together in love and eventually happiness

This is book two in the Skye Sisters Trilogy and just as brilliant as the first one. All three sisters were adopted and the middle sister, Ezzie Wynter is the manager of Rothack Hall. She is so looking forward to Christmas but then the Swedish owners of the hall, the Larsons who she does get on really well with, inform her that they are ALL coming for Christmas. Ezzie finds herself rushed off her feet sourcing everything they will need but is even more wrong footed when Grete Larson, son Mats plus his two children and their nanny turn up weeks before Christmas. Very handsome Mats is used to having things his way and speaks before he thinks. On top of all this there are unexpected visitors and some family issues for Ezzie to cope with. Beautifully written, gorgeous location and so easy to visualise the hall, characters and situations this is a great book that is ultimately about family, friendship, connections and doing what’s right for you. As manager at Rothach Hall on the beautiful Isle of Skye, Ezzie Wynter has things running like a well-oiled machine. When she finds out that some of the Larson family who own the hall are arriving early for Christmas Ezzie takes the disruption in her stride.
Efficiently organising the rooms and menus Ezzy is in her element. Until Mats Larson, the owner’s son arrives with his two young children. Mats is undeniably gorgeous but also impulsive with a tendency to put his foot in it.
After getting off on the wrong foot Ezzie and Mats slowly begin to draw closer, than some visitors arrive who throw Ezzie’s whole life into chaos.
With Christmas fast approaching, Ezzie will need to call on all her strength of character and the help of those closest to her to get through the festive season.
A beautiful setting, great characters and a story that encompasses love, family and friendship in all it’s forms.
What more could you want for Christmas.

The descriptions are so beautiful that I felt like I was there on Skye.
Christmas is all about family and that’s exactly what Ezzie had with all her sisters, parents and the Swedish family.
An excellent book to read in the run up to Christmas!

Such a wintery festive treat, with the added sparkle of the Scottish island of Skye.
I hadn't actually read the first Skye sisters book but this wasn't a problem at all as the basics of their relationships and backgrounds are covered clearly. It was interesting to add the Swedish element with the Larson family and the beauty & grandeur of Rothach hall, full of fika & other delights.
Ezzie's personal journey with unexpected visitors and deep secrets was a joy to read and I felt written perfectly.

The 2nd in the trilogy follows Ezzie, manager of the big house. Working hard to put her past behind her, the arrival of the family who own the house makes this impossible. Perfect cold, wet weather reading.

This book is absolutely delightful and amazingly well written. It drew me deep into it's depths so much so that I felt like I was there right in the middle. The setting is lovely and Christmassy making you feel like curling up in front of the fire with a hot chocolate. A Skye Full of Stars focuses on sister Essie and she faces quite a few dramas one of them being the hotel owners son Mats. The glimpses of the children and the few different animals made me smile and the children's excitement for Christmas gets you excited! The plot is entertaining with Christmas, Love, Family, Hotel Life and Children. This is a sensational addition and I look forward to reading Valentina's story.

A lovely holiday story about family set on Skye! I missed the earlier books but that didn't matter as I was captured by Ezzie, who has worked hard to get where she is and who has the support of her adopted sisters. The arrival of Mats Larson tilts things a bit as does the surprise of her birth family. Moorcroft is a good storyteller and this was a fun read.

A Skye Full of Stars by Sue Moorcroft

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow. I devoured this book in a day and a half – and then was devastated when it was finished. I felt like I had been invited to a family & friends’ reunion with old friends (from the first book), and it was just wonderful to meet them all again, and to follow more of their journey.

The last book followed sister Thea and how she ended up with Dev. In this book we are back at Rothach Hall with sister Essie Wynter who is now the manager. When Mats, the son of the owners, turns up with his 2 children Essie thinks he is entitled and she doesn’t like him – but slowly he and the children grow on her. On top of this the third adopted sister, Valentina, buys a holiday home nearby, Essie has some visitors that knock her sideways, and Thea and Dev have some amazing news.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series – surely it has to be a trilogy? Sue Moorcroft you are amazing – more please.

I absolutely loved this book, I was so invested in Ezzie and Mats, really lovely characters. It was lovely to be reintroduced to the Wynter sisters and pick up their story. Another gorgeous story which left me wanting more, I really hope there is a third story as I would love to revisit Skye and the sisters! Firstly, I’d like to thank NetGalley and Avon Books for the ARC of A Skye Full of Stars by Sue Moorcroft. This book, set against what I initially hoped would be a captivating backdrop, unfortunately didn’t live up to my expectations.

While I was eager to be drawn into the story, the narrative style consistently fell short. There was a lot of telling instead of showing, which made the characters feel flat and kept me from fully engaging with them or the storyline. This approach felt more like a trend than a choice, and I found myself craving deeper, more nuanced character development that simply wasn’t there.

The setting, while initially promising, didn’t bring enough charm or depth to outweigh the stylistic issues and lack of immersive detail. The story’s potential was drowned out by its dry delivery, which for me felt profoundly boring. Overall, this book didn’t resonate with me, but for readers who enjoy more straightforward narration, it might still be worth a look

Having already read the first book in this series, I was delighted to be able to read part two. And, as a lover of Christmas, I was also delighted that it is set in the festive season.

This story focuses on Ezzie, the middle of the Wynter sisters. It picks up after the events of the first book and we see how Ezzie is coping in her managerial role at the beautiful Rothach Hall on the Isle of Skye. She is always the professional with the owners of the Hall, the Scandinavian Larson family and hopes to impress them when they come for an extended stay in the run up to Christmas. But the arrival of the handsome Mats Larson with his two adorable children and the events that this sparks, challenges Ezzie's professionalism and unexpectedly causes issues with her family too. But Christmas surely means happy endings?

This is exactly what you would expect from a Sue Moorcroft book...cosy, warm, easy to read and entertaining. It also covers some difficult topics as Ezzie's past problems with alcohol are explored as well as her feelings on her adoption. As I said in my review of "Under A Summer Skye", it feels like there are unnecessary and repetitive explanations provided by the characters but by and large, this didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. I look forward to reading the third book to find out eldest sister Valentina's story.

The second in a trilogy series of books from the beautiful Scottish island of Skye. Loved the first one and sadly for me didn’t quite enjoy this one as much. Everything is well explained so no need to read in order.
Ezzie Wynter is the newly appointed manager of the Rothach estate owned by a Swedish family on the island of Skye. She lives in one of the tiny cottages in the nearby village opposite the pub and near to her beloved sister Thea. Winter is drawing in when some of the family are due to visit early before Christmas, there is a lot to be done to prepare and a few issues come up to make this less than smooth running.
The characters are great and the emotional issues and roller coasters are dealt with sensitively. Daisy the dog only got mentioned towards the end! There are some predictable patterns and outcomes, I found it slow and felt I’d lost my way in the book at times, not as magical as the first book, however still caused a tear to escape!
This is still a great read, for me just not one of the best from Sue Moorcroft.
I’m looking forward to the last in the trilogy for the next story and do recommend this book as an easy festive read.

A story of family, friendships and love set in an amazing background on the Isle of Skye. There are three sisters, all of which have been adopted, with two living and working for a Swedish family with a large mansion. The protagonist is Ezzie Wynter who manages the mansion and her sister Thea, who is in charge of the garden. The third sister, Valentina comes into the story a bit later as she is buying a small cottage on the island. The story weaves in and out with drama, with secrets that have been hidden and, of course, enough romance to keep you glued to the book. The characters felt real, as you can imagine how it is with three siblings. Plus the background and descriptions of the mountains and all of the surroundings will make you want to go there asap!!! The warmth of the story and how it played out kept me held to the pages and when it was over, wanting more. I have read the two Skye novels and would hope there is a third. A good follow up to the first in the series. Love the setting. Good to read of the middle sister's story. I thought Ezz was childish at times, for her age.
