Great source of information to get started on Netgalley, it's a must for everyone!
I learned how to find the books I requested via the 'not active' section and even found out what Galley means and that the term 'e-ARC' should be avoided and DRC is preferred in the publishing world!
I will definitely get back to the tricks and tips about writing reviews.

As a newer member of the NetGalley community, I found the Book Advocate Toolkit incredibly helpful and well-structured. It offered clear, actionable guidance on how to navigate the platform—from requesting books to writing thoughtful reviews and understanding the approval process.

One of the most useful sections for me was the breakdown of how and when to submit feedback, including what to do if I don’t finish a book or choose not to submit a full review.

The review-writing framework also gave me more confidence in how to structure my thoughts in a way that's useful for both publishers and fellow readers.

Overall, this resource is an excellent support tool, especially for those just starting out or looking to improve their approach to reviewing ARCs. Highly recommended!

As a NetGalley newbie, I thought I'd take a look at the Toolkit and I'm glad I did!

I have now subscribed to the weekly email that 'prioritizes the books on my Shelf, with reminders of the optimal time to read & review'.
The very handy guide on deciding whether to choose the 'I will not be giving feedback on this book' option or to still give a review was invaluable.
Last but not least, thank you for spelling out the difference between DRCs (digital review copies), ARCs (advance reading copies), and ALCs (advance listening copies).

- I will be correcting my reviews in accordance.

NetGalley's book advocate toolkit is a very concise, beginner friendly introduction into the NetGalley platform. Not only does it detail each step of navigating and using NetGalley. It also provides guidance on the applications and review process in easily understandable terminology.

In addition to this the book also includes guidance on social media engagement and audience consideration when sharing reviews on external platforms and it also includes references to NetGalley resources for further reading and development. Making it even easier for NetGalley newbies to get started on both NetGalley as well as social media. Which is incredibly helpful.

I found this title to be a very useful starting point as someone new to the NetGalley platform and it also gave me a lot to reflect on in terms of how I structure reviews, as well as lots of helpful tips for my own social media management and content.

It's packed with tips to make the whole experience smoother, plus links to other posts if you want to dive deeper. There's even a section on the NetGalley Shelf app (which I had no clue how to use at first), and some solid advice on how to make your profile stand out. Definitely worth a read!

Loved this toolkit!! It's a really nice starter kit for reading and reviewing ARCs. I'm thinking about getting serious about my booktok/bookstagram this summer, so the social media chapter will be helpful for that.
