A very helpful PDF guide full of tips and tricks to update your Net Galley profile!!! I printed this off and put it with my Net Galley reading journal.

Really useful tool for new reviewers on NetGalley just like me. The tips provided for a good review were really helpful together with the example provided.

I wish this Book Advocate Toolkit was made available back when I was just a newbie in Netgalley; this was around 2013 wherein most of my contemporary reviewers are also grasping at straws on how to make good feedback, how to get approved, how to navigate Netgalley. Heh. But we survived, I survived the learning curve and here I am today, still not a pro at reviewing but getting better every review sent.
Anyway, this is a very good guide for the newbies and old timers who are still feeling lost and uncertain about how Netgalley works. Had I been a Netgalley newbie these days, I'd say that this toolkit would have provided me with a lot of clarity and saved me from a lot of heartaches (it's really painful to not get approved by the ARCs you like).
So yes, kudos to the Netgalley and We Are Bookish for this wonderful initiative. It would certainly help a lot of reviewers to become more efficient and better reviewers moving forward.

This is a beautiful, but short, guide on how to best use NetGalley. It uses short snippets of information to detail best practices with easy to understand examples as buttresses.
I was not expecting much but the pages were easy to read and cute which made for a more pleasant guide. I'm happy that NetGalley provided this guide since it helped me to determine what type of review works best on this site.

Reading this resource has highlighted the importance of writing a well-rounded review, as well as suggestions to improve my future reviews.

This book was very helpful and to the point. I am new to Netgalley and this was a good way to familiarize myself with how to use the site.

Very helpful, lots of fantastic information to make anyone successful! Enjoy the breakdown to help with a better format for reviews. I enjoyed falling back onto the details while writing my first full review.

I ended up not using the toolkit. For those that had no way to track their reading, it was probably useful. I did have and just did not have the time to "learn" how to use this since I had a methodology that has worked for me for several years (started before I became a NetGalley reviewer).
For me the Toolkit needs some serious editing/updating. Since this is a negative review, I do not plan to post it on my website or in Goodreads. I believe that NetGalley is very interested in helping their reviewers and did not want to give a negative impression re NetGalley. The Toolkit just wasn't a fit for me.

This was super helpful! Looking forward to the update with the Social Media Toolkit.
I didn’t know that you can make lists on NetGalley or that my Shelf can be sorted by pub date.
Thanks for the help, We Are Bookish! :)

this is super helpful! i’ve been using netgalley for years, and i honestly wish i had this guide when i first got started. it would have saved me so much time and effort in figuring things out on my own. having this kind of insight and advice right from the beginning makes the whole process smoother and more enjoyable. i would recommend this for anyone trying to understand netgalley.

Full of helpful tips for using Netgalley. 100% recommend for anyone using netgalley, whether they've been here a while or just getting started.

The NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit is a fantastic resource, especially for those new to NetGalley or looking for a quick refresher. The eye-catching graphics make it engaging, and it's easy to read and understand. This short guide answers common questions and offers great tips for making your profile better, as well on how to write constructive and effective reviews, making it a handy tool

This was a beneficial guide for a first-time Net Galley user! I was a little nervous about signing up to give reviews on books, but this guide helped me feel more confident!

This toolkit is great to help those that wish to review books. It provides good recommendations of how and what to include in the review. Also, it gives good reminders to those that have reviewed for a while to help improve their reviews. The table of contents makes it easy to find what you are looking for from requesting books to improving your profile to how to DNF. Many of the tips have links to longer articles from We are Bookish which is very helpful. I was hoping for more about the Social Media Toolkit and hope it comes out soon. If you wish to be a reviewer or improve what you are already doing, I recommend this toolkit.

This was nicely done and had some good information for new NetGalley users! Props to the graphics team as the pages were eye catching and easy to read.

The NetGalley Book Advocate Toolkit is a concise and practical resource for anyone looking to enhance their book reviewing skills and connect more effectively with publishers. I appreciated the clear, actionable tips on how to articulate your interests to publishers. The section on writing effective reviews is equally valuable, offering guidance on crafting feedback that is both constructive and engaging. I am looking forward to the extended edition, which promises to include a social media toolkit.
As always very informative, I love the graphics. I am constantly impressed by netgalley and their helpfulness when it comes to information on how to better my presence on their website.
Overall, I recommend this guide to new book reviewers who are serious about providing useful feedback to publishers and authors via NetGalley.

Love that I just discovered this! For someone who is just getting started on their reviewer journey, this resource is extremely helpful and easily walks you though all aspects of using NetGalley, marketing yourself to publishers, and writing effective reviews.

I love NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit. It is well-organized, and I will return to it often. I feel that this will be often updated, and I look forward to the "coming soon" section. I have been on NetGalley for a while, and I learned new things from this toolkit, plus will make changes to my bio due to the suggestions in this guide. I know many people question if selecting “WILL NOT GIVE FEEDBACK” affects your rating/ makes it so you can never get to 100%, so I wish that would have been answered. But that is my only complaint! This will be the perfect start to a new NetGalley member and it was great for me, too!

This was a nice little guide! I really appreciated the tips on how to build a more appealing profile. I do wish that it included a bit more advice on how to write a compelling review and social media etiquette. Still, this was a nice refresher!
