love the tips and tricks! This is very handy! It's nice to have some guidelines as to how to give your best review. I will definitely be referring to this in the future. Also, it is very helpful to see how to review a DNF, that can be tricky sometimes. Very useful tool. Thank you so much!

This book was a great introduction on how Netgalley works, various tips and tricks for user experience and how to write constructive book reviews that both publishers and readers can enjoy. I found this book very informative and it helped me a great deal.

This was incredibly helpful to me as a newer member of NetGalley!! I have always seen folks on Bookstagram and Booktok talking about NetGalley and it's so hard to learn everything without help! I tried googling a lot of things, but of course, this handbook covers all of it in a simple, easy-to-digest way. I love to go back and reference this when I'm trying to figure something out that I haven't done yet.

I think this book should actually be recommended for folks as soon as they join as a Reviewer. I kept trying to figure out how to even get a feedback ratio in the first place, how to update my profile (and keep it updated), and actually participate in the NetGalley community.

If you're new to the site - in any member category - definitely check this out! It's a great initial reference AND great to come back to as you grow in your NetGalley journey!!

This is such a helpful guide on how to use Netgalley and post meaningful, constructive and informative reviews. I often struggle with review wording and find that it takes me a while to write what I actually want to say, and this is an amazing guide on how to execute it perfectly and ensure I’m doing all I can to support the authors who allow us to read their work early. Highly recommended.

This guide provides some great information on obtaining ARCs. Like, what you should say in your profile, and other things of that nature. I specifically liked that it mentioned what to do if you cannot finish a book. While, every author wants people to love their story, unfortunately, not every story is good for every person. I like that the guide helps you determine what to do next if you're unable to finish the book.

The Toolkit you provided serves as my daily reference for managing ARCs and following review best practices. A few thoughts: The “How to DNF” chart is excellent but it would be even better if it were interactive such as a downloadable decision-tree to help reviewers through the process. A brief section about using NetGalley Shelf annotation statistics to identify highlighted passages could help reviewers develop data-based review approaches. The inclusion of short case studies such as “Reviewer X increased their Feedback Ratio from 60% to 85% in two months” would demonstrate effective practices in action. A brief checklist containing instructions for adding alt-text captions to review images and video transcript prompts would help users practice inclusive sharing. The Toolkit provides immense value to users but additional modifications would enhance its actionability and community engagement.

As someone new to the online book community I found this extremely useful! I was able to gain some valuable knowledge/information that really helped when creating my profile. There’s a lot of information online but this is user friendly - easy to follow, concise and uses simple terms so it wasn’t confusing in any way. This is definitely a resource I’ll come back to, thank you.

A handy little guide to using NetGalley. Reminded me to update my profile. And I learned I should be calling audiobook reviews "ALCs" rather than "eaudio ARCs"--thank god, that phrase is so awkward.

I was surprised it had an entire section on DNFing, how very woke of it lol. But no, really, I'm glad to see DNFing acknowledged and quasi-normalized. I used to get so stressed out forcing myself to finish ARCs I hated because I felt obligated. Now I just explain why they weren't to my taste and move on.

I love that there's a "Withdraw Request" option these days (for those times when I don't quite manage to curb my impulsiveness). I think I've only used it once or twice, but it's comforting to know it's there.

On the other hand, the "will not review" option might as well not exist because I'll never use it, not when it counts against the all-important feedback ratio. I can't have that. If I didn't get to a book before it was archived (because shit happens, lbh) and I have to purchase the book, use an Audible credit, or wait six months for a turn at the library, that book will get read and reviewed.

The only thing I disliked about this guide is THAT font--the stylized one that pops up here and there, like "Revised and Updated" on the cover. I don't understand it and it's hard to read (the k's!)

This toolkit is great for beginners on NetGalley!

The toolkit provides clear instruction and tips from setting up your account to how to write reviews. I loved the visual interest this toolkit provides as it makes the information appear less intimidating. I think this would be great for anyone first starting an account and for anyone needing a little more direction into the book review space! I can't wait to apply some of this knowledge to my account and to build a stronger platform for myself.
