While I ended up not completing Camp NetGalley this year, I think this is a really great concept. I look forward to hopefully completing it next year. The packet is well designed and adds a bit of additional fun and incentive to work on your NetGalley TBR!

I downloaded Servant of the Earth by Sarah Hawley as a Camp NetGalley promotion title. Entering the fae realm can be a hit or a miss. Boy, when it's a hit it's a hit. Yes, you will hit the traditional tropes in the story, but my feelings are that's okay if nothing new or extraordinary is introduced. As long as the story's pacing and readability/understanding of the world-building is well-written I am going to recommend to my colleagues and friends, which is what I will do with Servant of the Earth. Thank you to PRH and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this DRC.

Thanks for offering such a fun summer camp experience! To fit the theme, my talent show entry is a camp-related book. It's been a great summer!

Thanks for the chance to add a fun twist to my summer reading. The bingo was a fun idea and this definitely helped me focus on my shelf a little more.

Loved this summer challenge! It got me reading books that I'd put off for a long time, and I finished some great overdue reviews. Thank you to Netgalley for organizing!

My submission for Camp NetGalley is below.
As for the Camp, I felt that it was a fun thing for those who had the time. Mine was not my own during this period, so I was unable to participate.
I commend the Bookish team for their clever ideas.

I didn't do as much as I had wanted to with this but I'll try again next year! I think it's really nice that the site does this for its users.

I reached an ARC of The Drowning House through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Thank you to the publisher Poisoned Pen Press and Cherie Priest for the opportunity to read and review!
The first half of the book sucked me in, and I was so engrossed in the story. The perspective flip flops between two childhood friends, who return to an area they frequented as children to support their best friend through the loss of his grandmother…when that friend has disappeared without a trace they start investigating and happen upon some magical history to a house they practically grew up in.
The character development was pretty dynamic, and I enjoyed the camaraderie between the two main characters as they dig through the past and present for clues to what has happened to their friend. The supernatural aspects threw me off a little bit, and made the book a little more eerie than I was expecting. All in all I would recommend it as a fast paced, slightly creepy read!

What a fun idea, concept and execution!
Although I had some things that kept me away from most of the month of July (boo!), I was able to jump in at the very end and at least participate in spirit. I now know that the 2025 Camp will be a MUST DO!
Thanks to the Bookish team for putting this together. It is clever and I am now having reader's remorse (is that a thing?) for not participating more this summer.
See you in July 2025!

This was a really fun idea! I always love summer reading challenges and events, I do a reading challenge at my local library every summer and this reminded me of that!

A summer camp for book readers, don't mind if I do! Loved this idea how to get more involved with Netgalley, on social media and get people reading, just wish I had participated in it more than I have this summer. Can't wait to go back to Camp next summer though!
My only critique would be that the instructions to follow along and participate were not super easy to follow - if they were a little more straight forward that would be great!

Yay for Camp NetGalley! I love interactive stuff like this and the bingo card was so much fun! This was a unique idea to get bookstagrammers and readers engaged. I had a great time following along with the activities each week and the instagram story templates were a fabulous idea! I'd love something similar to this every quarter!

This was so much fun! I can't wait to see if they do this again in the future. The bingo board was my favorite part.

I think any book that thanks Brendan Fraser first in the acknowledgments automatically gets 4 stars, but what made this 5 stars is just how fun and adventurous the story was. This is what a YA book should be: fun, light, relatable characters, all with a bit of magic and nostalgia throughout.
I only wish it had been longer! And I would have loved Van's POV a few times, if only to get his thoughts on the twenty-first century!

What a fun idea! I really enjoyed all the options for taking part in Camp NetGalley. I am definitely looking forward to next summer!

This was so much fun! I loved being active and engaged with catching up on ARC reads and reviews. I really hope to get more fun club activities like this one in the future. I really loved the bingo board. Thank you for recognizing and appreciating your members and their reviews! I attached a link to one of my favorite recent reviews.

The Camp NetGalley Welcome Packet was a fun way to engage with my instagram followers. . I really liked that it provided me with content to post on my profile. The web templates were very creative and helped me launch my new bookstagram site! Thank you for providing it to your first time readers so we can get off the ground with engaging with our followers.
I did not use the bingo or scavenger hunt options. I found them to not be as helpful as other portions of the welcome packet to engage with my followers.

Even if I was still at an age to attend camp, it’s much too hot for me to really enjoy all those outdoor activities. But, a camp for readers! Where do I sign up! Oh wait, I already have.
Unfortunately, life intervened and I haven’t been able to fully participate in Camp NetGalley in the way I intended. But, nevertheless, it’s a great idea for the summer, with a chance to restart some of my reading habits and explore new books that I’ve been putting off. Thanks NetGalley!

I enjoyed having something engaging to follow throughout a month. I love the bingo and the stickers ideas so much; as it was easy to follow and also cute illustrations.
I did have issue following some of it. I don't think the instructions were easy to follow for some. Like this part was confusing to me and posting a link to my fave review I've done (https://hayliosreadsbooks.wordpress.com/2024/05/29/the-eyes-are-the-best-part-by-monika-kim-review/)
I believe I'd love to do this again but maybe because I'm neurodivergent, I might need a little more help!

Camp NetGalley
This was a great idea and though I focused on reading as much as possible during the month of July, I admit I forgot to participate in some of the great activities…especially bingo! I will try to finish up today, but wanted to make sure I gave Camp NetGalley a glowing review.
As far as the talent show, my choice is for The Glassmaker, by Tracy Chevalier, actually published in June. It’s been my favorite one to recommend to my book clubs!
Thanks, NetGalley for this fun idea and help to engage with other members and great books!
