I’ve have finished this INCREDIBLE book and loved Every. Single. Page! ♥️🎄
Where do I begin? Well, simply put it’s magical. Filled with beautiful descriptions & places that take you right there, walking side by side with the adorable characters we meet.
And it wouldn’t be a romcom without the perfect meet cute which happens at the airport and I instantly loved. It’s a real serendipity moment where, from that point on, you are hoping they find their way back to each other.
And, of course, the characters. Ollie & Bea are gorgeous. Both kind, funny, sensitive and so endearing you can’t help but love them. And when they are together its magic. There is sadness especially for Ollie (my heart broke for him) but love, beautiful memories and amazing family & friends shine throughout leaving you with the biggest smile possible.
And this story wouldn’t be what it is without my favourites, Aunt Nora & Leroy. Oh. My. Days. I can’t express how much I adored them. Read it, you’ll see!
Finally ~
The red box - Oh my heart.
The poem - Gorgeous
Peter Pan statue - Perfect! ♥️
There is so much more that I’m missing (I tabbed a lot!) but to tell you it would basically be telling you the story so just read it.
This has solidified Emma as an auto buy author for me. Every story is filled with love, warmth, compassion, tenderness, is heartfelt and real so much so that I was able to snuggle on my sofa with MNC and get lost in the lives of Bea & Ollie. 🥰
Beautiful & perfect all year round NOT just for Christmas!!
I’m a big softie and heartfelt romcoms like this are my idea of reading heaven. 💖
You don’t need me to explain the story, the blurb can do that. I just wanted to explain what I loved and how it made me feel.

I loved this book about two people meeting in an airport waiting for a delayed flight back to Ireland for Christmas, just very romantic!
Bea and Ollie meet when their flight home for Christmas is delayed, and end up having dinner and a long chat in the departure lounge, never expecting to see each other again. But then they end up sitting next to each other on the flight home too, so spend more time in each others company, getting closer. But they each have issues to sort out.
Bea is the manager at a small 5-star boutique hotel in Kensington and Ollie works as a nurse in a London hospital, and both really love their jobs. They are flying home to spend Christmas with their families, but Bea is also planning on breaking up with her long-term boyfriend as they have just drifted apart, and Ollie's Dad is very ill so this will be their last Christmas together.
There are some wonderful side characters, Leroy who works at the hotel, and Ollie's aunt Nora are especially lovely, as is the dog that Sarah rescued, Nana, who is now the hotel dog and spoiled by everyone.
Both Bea and Ollie's paths cross again though, once back in London, and it seems fate keeps pushing them together. They have various obstacles to overcome but get there eventually, which is never really in doubt, but it is such a lovely read getting there! Very enjoyable.

Maybe Next Christmas is a heartwarming love story that’ll be perfect to cozy up with.
The story is engaging and moves at a good pace. Although the romance between Ollie and Bea was the centre storyline I really enjoyed the grief, friendship and family based story lines too. I felt they brought another level to the story.
Speaking of Ollie and Bea, I loved getting to know these two characters! Having moved away from family myself, I was able to relate to a lot of their feelings about being away from family especially during difficult times. The supporting characters were also so so lovable!

An absolute heart warming story, I cried a lot through this, it was just so touching and beautiful. A perfect Christmas story for cosying up with. Bea and Ollie are just delightful, and I totally loved Leroy! A huge hit for me.
Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Another cosy, heartwarming Christmas story from Emma Heatherington. A chance meeting at an airport - will it lead to more? I loved it.

A chance encounter at the airport one Christmas Eve sets Bea and Ollie on a path that could and should lead to romance. But like star-crossed lovers, life's challenges keep getting in the way. Will it be different next Christmas?
Another warm hug of a book from Emma Heatherington delivers everything you could want from a festive novel. - traditions, home and family, and, most importantly, romance.
Both Bea and Ollie are charming protagonists, with family and friends who complement them in their own unique ways. Heck, there's even a couple of dogs to add to the mix of characters whose stories all contribute to the plot.
The disparate backgrounds of a traditional London hotel and the country charm of an Irish village add to the atmospheric background of the story, and makes it easy for the reader to understand why Ollie and Bea both struggle to make the sacrifices necessary to be together.
There's a good element of tension running through the narrative, and a little heartbreak, too, but the overall feeling of the story is one of comfort and joy.
This book will bring warmth to your winter nights.

If you’re looking for cosy, if you’re looking for heartwarming, if you’re looking for Christmas, this is the book for you!
Bea and Ollie have a chance meeting when their flight home to Ireland at Christmas is delayed and they feel an instant and strong connection. But Bea has a boyfriend at home. And Ollie has a very sick father to focus on. Plus, they don’t exchange contact details so they have no way of getting in touch. Over the course of the next year, we see how their lives progress and whether they manage to find each other again.
While none of the plot is a surprise, this is still a lovely book. It’s a perfect Christmassy read with vivid characters and beautifully described settings. My only criticism is that some of the content and descriptions are repeated and could’ve done with a bit of further editing. But overall I really enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

Bea and Ollie meet at the airport, a chance meeting, do they believe in love at first sight? With so many obstacles in their way can this be the perfect Christmas romance ? A wonderful tale of friendship and love, with relatable characters, perfect Christmas reading,

A very sweet festive romance. A beautiful setting, likeable characters and a happy ending - perfect!

Another great book from Emma Heatherington and a Christmas one at that. Following Bea and Ollie as they try and get home for Christmas despite a delayed flight. Can their departing words of Maybe next Christmas ring true and is a long distance relationship possible? Fun, sadness and romance alongside Christmas charm keep you entertained and wanting more. Thanks to Emma and her publisher. Thanks also to NetGalley

How I loved this wonderful book. It is my first by this Author but certainly won’t be the last. It oozes Christmas, family, friendship love and romance. Buy it now, you won’t be disappointed it’s a fabulous read.

What a lovely, gentle romance. I really enjoyed reading it.
Written from his and hers perspective which I found quite easy to follow.
Bea is on her way to Ireland for Christmas and to break up with her boyfriend Sean when she meets Ollie, a nurse on his way home for Christmas with his poorly father. They had an instant connection. As soon as Bea arrived home Sean proposed in the busy pub, full of friends and family… oh dear, does the amazing Ollie stand a chance?

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.
This wonderful, emotional romance is set in both London and Ireland and follows Bea and Ollie. They meet each other at the airport when they are waiting for their flight back to Ireland to see family on Christmas Eve.
Bea is a 5* hotel manager and is travelling back home to end a relationship which is going nowhere. However not all turns out as planned.
Ollie is travelling to see his family knowing this may be the last one with his dad who is sick. Since the flight he can’t seem to shake the feeling, he
had when meeting Bea.
Will their lives cross paths again? Where will their lives lead if they do?
This romance is an emotional but wonderful read which concentrates not only the romance side, but family and friendship too.
You get to hear from both Bea, and Ollie and discover how they are feeling and the drama in their lives they are dealing with.
A lovely read, and great for Christmas time with the snowy settings on Christmas Eve.
Overall , a wonderful and emotional read where you get the chance to see if fate can bring two lives together.

Sadly after enjoying Heatherington's last Christmas offering, this one was not for me.
This book spans a year, between Christmas Eve's when the main protagonists first meet and where they are a year later. The fact that the majority of the novel, was in fact, not set at Christmas didn't bother me in the slightest.
The characters on the other hand, did bother me very much. Bea in particular. I found myself rushing through the chapters from her POV as they were tedious and she just seemed to make illogical choices.
There were some tender moments, but they weren’t enough to pull this one back for me.

What a gorgeous book.
The perfect slow-burner romance with incredible characters that felt like family. The difference in POV swapping between Bea and Ollie built up the tension and chemistry perfectly.
The beautiful locations of rural Ireland and a boutique hotel in Kensington, London, really bring everything to life with the cosy, slow-pace Vs vibrant city life.
Uplifting, heartwarming and magical.

Bea loves her job managing an exclusive 5 star boutique hotel in Kensington. It’s a far cry from the Irish village where she grew up and where her family and her boyfriend still live.
Bea is on her way to spend Christmas with them, waiting for her delayed flight when she meets Ollie.
Ollie is a cardiac nurse and is on his way to see his seriously ill father for Christmas.
They share stories of their childhoods and their current lives and quickly feel like they have known each other for years.
When they arrive in Ireland they go their separate ways and although they think of each other they both think they have missed their chance.
Then, they bump into each other a few months later and discover the spark is still there but are they ready for romance or is friendship all they can hope for.
As Christmas approaches again, Bea and Ollie have a decision to make, will this be a Happy Christmas for them?
This is told from the point of view of both Bea and Ollie, they are both great characters and I liked them instantly. It moves from the streets of London to the beauty of the Irish countryside and coastline and I was totally swept along in the story.

This book has everything required for a cosy romantic Christmas read. I loved every page with the story keeping me hooked from start to finish.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

Loved this story, the characters were well written and the whole book was so enjoyable. A story of a chance meeting, coincidences and a love so strong. Loved Bea, Ollie and Leroy .
My thanks as always to NetGalley and Publisher Random House UK, Cornerstone | Penguin for the early read

Bea and Ollie are an interesting couple and the plot is well-written if unsurprising. For me, the best bit of Emma Heatherington's Maybe Next Christmas is the evocative description of the houses and hotels. I thought that was excellent and added to my enjoyment. I felt that there were two many tropes and very minor plot strands included; the novel really didn't need them. But this is an ideal Christmas read.

Maybe Next Christmas had a kind of Serendipity (the movie) feel to it, with the two main characters destined to be together even though at times it seemed an impossibility.
Set at Christmas time in Ireland and in London I was left feeling very festive by the time the book concluded. I very much enjoyed the interactions between all of the characters. There was romance, friendship, celebrations and deaths. The sad aspects of the story were well balanced with the happy moments so there was never a time when I felt sad for too long.
I don't read many contemporary books, and am selective in the ones that I do. I am glad I chose to read this one as I love a festive story any time of the year.
