A near perfect ChickLit book with equal doses fantasy, drunken girlfriends, inappropriate men and lonesome jokes! Alice is hovering close to 40, single parent of two teenage boys. Her ex-, always a layabout, has transformed into model husband and father after marrying someone else. Her friends seems to be in perfect marriages and rearing perfect children while Alice struggles with the unglamorous job of school administrator and moonlights as a meringue baker. Her friends decide to set her up by lining one eligible bachelor each. Amidst these (mis)adventures, there are lessons to be learnt about growing up, growing older, parenting, dating and love.

I am only calling it near perfect because the ending seemed a bit rushed. By the time you're at that point (my ereader said it was at 92%), it feels like the author has run out of plausible reasons to showcase male ineligibility but still has to pull out one more rabbit from the hat. This was just a touch disappointing since until then the book was progressing so well. Still, it's easy to pass over it and reach what you know will be a sweet ending.
