Having acquired a review copy of The Workhouse Girl, I felt obligated to attempt reading it, but much like The Lady's Maid, I found Dilly's style and tone too soft for my particular tastes.
I think this book has an audience, but it doesn't boast the historical complexity and detail I crave as a reader and I'd have a hard time recommending it forward.
