Another solid installment in the Bree Taggert series! At this point, I feel like Bree is my bestie—I’ve read every book and Track Her Down kept me hooked from start to finish.

The mystery around Claire’s murdered parents was full of twists, and the pacing never let up. I also loved seeing the continued growth in Bree and Matt’s relationship—it just keeps getting better with each book.

Fast, engaging, and emotionally grounded. 4 stars!

3.5 stars - I continue to be a big fan of this series and found this to be another hit. While I still enjoyed it a lot, I was surprised to find there was a lot more "explaining" in this book of the series and found it to be one of the more forgettable ones. That being said, I enjoyed the continued growth with Bree and her family/staff and was solidly entertained for the whole book.

I really enjoy these characters so it’s always nice to be back with them. Although I feel we didn’t see as much of them as we usually do. This was a fast paced instalment to the series but I do feel it was a bit messy and left a lot unanswered as the ending was in my opinion rushed. The case was interesting but also I realised early on one of the major twists, I feel this plot was very familiar and I’ve read it before in another crime series.

Another great addition to the Bree Taggert series. It's been at least a year since I read the previous book in the series and there were enough subtle context clues that I had no problem remembering who the characters were and the trauma that they carry. You could read this as a standalone if you wanted to though.

In Track Her Down, Taggert has to deal with reports of exotic animals in addition to trying to find out what happened to Claire's parents. If you are hesitant to pick this up because you hate to read about animal abuse or death, don't worry. No animals are harmed or die in this book.

Love this series! The latest installment in the Bree Taggart series is amazing as always. The plot is twisty, the characters are well written (& very interesting), and the suspense is on point. The villain is so good & slightly unexpected, I loved it. Can't wait for the next one.

I love the Bree Taggert series! A great police procedural, with complicated interconnected cases. As with every book in this series, there are book specific plot lines and overreaching series plotlines. The reader is easily drawn into and reminded about the overreaching plot line, as well as the current cases. As flawed as the characters are, they are not overly flawed and the reader can find something to relate to.

I am looking forward to the next Bree Taggert novel!

Thank you to NetGalley, and Montlake for an ARC of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishing house and author for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of this book in return for a review based upon my honest opinion.

Sheriff Bree Taggert it’s called to the scene of a double homicide, the teenage daughter is lone survivor of the family. As Bree and her team, look into the murders they discovered this couple is not whom they appear to be. As they search for some family for the daughter Claire to go with she has to go into a care home. They quickly discover that Claire is in danger herself, and things start to make less sense as they delve deeper into the crimes..

The small town has its share problems, including sightings of an alligator, what else could go wrong. As the suspects pile up, Bree does not know who to trust. Can she find a hiker and keep her County safe?

Things the 9th book in the Bree Taggert series, each could easily be read as a standalone book, but they’re really so good that I recommend you read them all. I really enjoy this author in this series. I always look forward to new books coming out to see the continuation of the characters lives and find out what killer is next in this small town.

Track Her Down is the tenth book in the Bree Taggert series and once again, Melinda Leigh wrote a book that pulled me in from the start and didn't let go until I finished. Seventeen year old Claire Mason returns home from work late at night and finds her parents have been murdered in their bed. Sheriff Bree Taggert arrives and finds that they were shot, and Claire is traumatized. She finds her a short term foster home until things can be sorted out. Her parents were lawyers who worked from home, and apparently had no other family. Claire was adopted. The initial assessment is that it is a burglary gone wrong, but the more Bree and her partner and investigator, Matt Flynn find out, it looks like an execution, but why? When Claire is followed and almost snatched from a park, the case ramps up. Who killed Josh and Shelley Mason? Why are they after Claire? Can Bree and Matt find the culprit before something happens to Claire?

First, I want to recommend you read this series in order as the personal stories are very much a part of this series and you will miss out if you jump in part way through. Sheriff Bree Taggert is a wonderful main character. She is smart, persistent, has great investigative and interviewing skills and wonderful intuition. Matt was a detective who was injured on the job so now works as a contractor when the department needs him, which is quite often. This crime was a difficult one as there were so many secrets in the Mason's lives which caused them to regroup. This isn't the only crime they are investigating either, there have been alligator sightings and Matt's sister rescued a wolf cub that had been purchased online. There were so many twists in this one that the final reveal had my jaw dropping. Another wonderful addition to this series.

Track Her Down was another great installment in the Bree Taggert series following Bree's search for the killer in a double homicide.

When Claire Mason returns home from work, she finds her parents shot to death in their bed. Sheriff Bree Taggert responds to the call where she quickly determines the crime is not a burglary gone wrong as it initially appeared. And after someone stalks Claire at the local park, it's clear the killer is now after Claire too. As Bree and investigator Matt Flynn dig into the Mason's lives, they learn that the Masons aren't who they said they were. And if their entire lives were a lie, that opens up a whole new set of suspects.

Track Her Down opens with Claire returning home and finding her parents' bodies with Bree and a deputy arriving on scene a few minutes later. The deaths of the Masons were particularly brutal and it's clear that whoever killed them felt a lot of rage towards them. I was curious what two seemingly ordinary people would do to cause someone to have so much animosity towards them. Once we learn more about their past, the motive for killing them becomes clear. The Masons did a pretty good job covering up their past and it takes a while for Bree and the others to dig up information on them. At this point the case went in a direction I wasn't expecting at all and the author did a great job keeping you guessing. I did figure out who the killer was before the final reveal but there were still a few surprises thrown in along the way.

Bree is an excellent main character and she's come a long way both personally and professionally since the first book, Cross Her Heart. Her team at the sheriff's department has grown considerably and is now full of people she can trust and rely on. I liked getting to spend time with some of the newer deputies in this book. Renata Zucco in particular is a great character and I loved that she got her moment to shine in this book. Bree and Matt's relationship continues to be wonderful and things have been going well since they moved in together a few books ago. There wasn't a ton of time spent with the kids or Dana in this book which was a shame and I hope they get more page time in the next book.

Overall Track Her Down was a fantastic read and I'm looking forward to picking up the next book in the series, Beyond Her Reach, soon.

Book #9 in the Bree Taggert series continues the excellent story of Sheriff Taggert and the supporting cast of characters we've grown to love. The murder of a husband and wife in their home seems to be a straight forward case of home invasion and murder until Sheriff Taggert starts looking at the couples history. This police procedural series is always a great read. Melinda Leigh is a prolific wirter who easily keeps her fans coming back for more. Another easy 5 star read for Leigh.

Track Her Down is an intense, heart-pounding thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Sheriff Bree Taggert and investigator Matt Flynn make a great team as they unravel a complex case involving the brutal execution of a couple and the survival of their traumatized daughter. The suspense builds with every twist, and just when you think you have the case figured out, a new layer of deception is revealed. The characters are well-developed, and the stakes are high as Bree and Matt work tirelessly to uncover the dark secrets of the victims’ past. A gripping and expertly crafted mystery that will have you turning pages late into the night.

Teen ager Claire Mason returns home from her afterschool job to find her parents shot dead in their bed. Sheriff Bree Taggert is called in to investigate. Along with investigator Matt Flynn, Bree starts looking for answers. But all she finds are more questions. When Claire is approached at the park, Bree realizes Claire may be a target. As Bree and Matt dig deeper, they discover things were not quite they seemed, people were not who they appeared, and everyone, it seems, has a secret.

The story hooked me immediately. It jumped right into the action and quickly gained momentum. The constant twists and turns of the plot kept the story moving at a rapid pace. I liked that there were a few different story arcs that dovetailed each other then slowly and intertwined. I have to admit, I never saw the starting twist at the end.

I hadn't read a Bree Taggert story before, but besides the engrossing mystery, I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. They came across as real people experiencing the gamut of emotions. I felt the connection between Bree and Matt. I think the short slices into their home life added depth to the story. I guess I'll be going back to read the series from the beginning to get to know them better.

love this series, love this book. Thank you Netgalley for an ARC. This story starts out with a major crime just like the others, but the process of solving the murders gets twisty and can't book the book down good. Bree is a favorite character of mine--although if I lived in a small town in RL w this many murders etc. I would have moved for sure. lol

Another fantastic Bree taggart story. They get better with each book.
A double murder, a teenage witness and survivor. A mix you don’t want. But is Claire all that she seems.
Really enjoyed this book. Author Melinda Leigh has a real knack for drawing you in, but not giving away her twist.
Loved it. Thankyou

Sheriff Bree Taggart has another murder to solve. This time it is double homicide that their teenage daughter finds their bodies. They were several twists and turns and I was shocked by the ending. I live this series and look forward to the next one.

Leigh continues to enthrall me with Sheriff Bree and Matt as they race to solve the brutal murders of a married couple.
But nothing is as it appears in this case especially the victims.
I love how Leigh connects the different plots together with a focal point.
I had figured out who the culprit was halfway through but the author had a few final twists for me.
I loved the scene with Greta! K-9 all day long!

A horrific sight meets a teenager’s eyes when she comes home from work. The double homicide resonates with Sheriff Bree Taggert because she knows young Claire’s life will never be the same. Melinda Leigh writes strong and smart police procedural thrillers that dig into the heart of her characters and send the reader on a twisty, pulse-pounding path to the truth.

Track Her Down is the tenth entry in the Bree Taggert series that shares the same world as the earlier Scarlet Falls and Morgan Dane series in rural upstate New York. The books are standalone thrillers, but there is a progression of personal growth and relationship building throughout the series.

In this latest, Bree and Matt are on the case of a double homicide that gets weirder the deeper they dig and, on the side, they’ve got someone selling exotic dangerous creatures and some have gotten loose in the woods near Gray’s Lake. The teenage daughter seems to still be a target for the killer so Bree and her team need to work fast.

Bree who has struggled lifelong with the loss of her parents in a homicide and, more recently, her sister and brother in law to homicide feels for the vulnerable girl and her own repressed memories start returning as a result. I’ve enjoyed seeing her work through her grief, connect with her also grief-stricken niece, nephew, and estranged brother as well as open up for a romance with Matt as the series progresses.

Track Her Down isn’t at a loss for suspects and villainous characters and it shines a light into the darkness of stolen children, the foster system, the exotic pet trade, and more while providing a strong backdrop of rural, but thorough police work.

Ten books in and I still can’t get enough of this series. Each book including Track Her Down is a strong, well-plotted book that reads quickly because I don’t want to put it down and leaves me satisfied and wanting more when it ends. Those who like smart characters and mystery plots not easily penetrated should definitely give this series a go.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Track Her Down through Net Galley . This is an extraordinary story . Sheriff Bree Taggert is called to a crime scene . It turns out it's not a home invasion and the mother and father were executed in their bed leaving a teen daughter on her own . While Bree and Matt work to solve this crime they have to look to the past history of the couple
and all their secrets . There are so many twists and turns I couldn't put this story down . This story is suspenseful and intriguing with a shocking end . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This one surprised me! I love the Bree Taggert books and it was great to jump into that world again. The murder was so twisty and turney it was basically a rollercoaster. I know that bothers some people but I don’t mind it. As far as the ending goes, it was good and everything was tied up nicely, BUT some murder mystery books like this end up resolved but kinda depressing. I don’t love that but it is what it is.

Also, it needs to be said that I’m here for the “Madeline Jager redemption tour”. I couldn’t stand her but she really came through in this one.
Great writing, great story. Loved the further development of side characters.

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
