Every book by Jewel just gets better. This book broke me in the best way. The relationship between Jaymes and Fitz was so fresh. The belief in fate having us be at the right place at the right time to find our person is beautiful. We have two broken people who are destined to find each other in this life to help each other heal.
Jamie was everything in a female lead. She is strong and soft, vulnerable, and persistent. She takes the traveling nurse job to find herself, and she finds family in her roommates.
Fitz is broken by a life of grief, and the last person he expects to break through to him is Jamie. They fight, and they make up in the most raw way. It was an absolutely heartbreaking romance that was worth the tears.

i went into this blind thinking it was just a firefighter romance forbidden because they were roommates.
And it was so much more.
Jaymes and Calvin's story started off your typical romance but then everyone's issues kicked in and i was sucked in deep.
It was forbidden but according to a big plot twist, more forbidden than we know .
And i really can't even discuss more about the plot without giving it all away.
Let's just say that the heart wrenching twists and turns in the book were just torture! Every time i thought there would be a breakthrough...BAM. nope.
But it was a good read. I appreciate the growth of both characters, but more so Jaymes.
I gave this 4 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley for the arc All opinions are my own.

“From Air” is the first book in the “Wildfire” series and also my first Jewel E. Ann book. It will definitely not be the last because I loved it!
Main tropes are:
- forbidden romance
- age gap (10 years)
- grumpy/sunshine
- found family
- opposites attract
- close proximity
- roommates to lovers
- tragic past
Jamie is a traveling nurse that moves in a house full of firefighters. Calvin, one of her roommates, is a grumpy and enigmatic smoke jumper.
From the beginning they flirt and bater a lot. This is a forbidden romance but they do not manage to stay away from each other.
“I’m unsure if I despise Calvin Fitzgerald or if he’s officially my newest obsession.”
“You’re generous. Distractingly mesmerizing. Quirky in a brilliant way. And ineffably beautiful.”
The writing is very beautiful and the characters are complex and loveble. It was great to watch them interact and especially with Calvin to see him open up to Jamie and let her in his heart.
Their story is funny, emotional and tragic.
The book is so good that I finished it in one day.
Now I am (im)patiently waiting for “From Nowhere”.
Thank you Valentine PR and Netgalley for the ARC and ALC. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

3.5-4 stars. Jamie Andrews is spreading her wings as a traveling nurse by leaving Florida and taking a job in small town Montana. Her 3 roommates are all older with daredevil type of professions, including smokejumper Calvin. The number one rule is to not sleep with a roommate, as it is grounds for immediate eviction. Calvin has a remote personality where he doesn't do well with people and only wants a job to focus on. He keeps things orderly in his world and people simply add complications, especially relationships. He refuses to invest in others, yet Jamie can't help but be curious, to where it's like constantly poking a bear, and Calvin is the bear.
The first half took me a while to get through as it was not selling the Calvin and Jamie ship for me very easily. I don't know if it was because Jamie simply assigned Calvin as her person and was fulfilling the prophecy without giving him a choice. Calvin, to his credit, is attracted to Jamie but was fine to leave well enough alone if she didn't start showing up everywhere, including his work. I do think this reflects a bit of Jamie's age and immaturity despite being wise beyond her years in other ways. However, Calvin was not far behind in his lack of maturity either.
Getting to the bottom of why Calvin was so against relationships became a focal point for Jamie, which lead to a lot of flirtations, proximity and time spent together alone. Even though Jamie's assignment is temporary and seems to be the impetus for Calvin to ignore any potential feelings between them, the white elephant in the room remains. I became more interested in their character development once it becomes clear why Calvin is so opposed to letting people into his life. Watching Calvin reach his own epiphany to realize life doesn't have to be so empty and that loving someone is always a risk, but those risks also come with great rewards is a testament to how well Jewel E Ann can turn a story around. Although this isn't a favorite of mine, it is a good start to a series and I'm looking forward to reading about Maren next.

I cried like a baby and Jewel E Ann is an author of beautiful words💕
After my first book by Jewel, I automatically sign up to read any new releases by her so fast. Her writing and storytelling is like nothing I’ve experienced. She was an instant favorite for me and this one just proves that to the tenth degree!
This book talks the angst to a whole new level I didn’t know possible. The banter, the teasing it was so entertaining. AND the plot twist absolutely shook me. Jewel can throw a curve ball that you never see coming! Mind blown!!
Traveling nurse meets firefighters and boy was it’s hot! Calvin and his closed off persona due to past family trauma pushing everyone away and then Jamie coming in and chipping away at his tough exterior was perfection.
My favorite found family trope to date! Looking for a read over thanksgiving then here you go…you are so welcome!

I just finished this book last night and I already need a re-read. This book had it all. This is an angsty, swoony romance between Calvin (aka Fitz), a smoke jumper and Jaymes (Jamie), a psychiatric nurse who has lived in one place her whole life and now takes traveling jobs so she can travel and see new parts of the country. Jamie's first stop...Montana, and when she gets to her residence, she realizes instead of one roommate, she actually has three. While she gets along wonderfully with Will and Maren, it is the closed-off, grumpy Fitzy that Jamie is drawn to, despite his surliness and desire to not share any part of himself. They form a friendship of sorts after Jamie's persistence at getting to know him. They are so different from each other on the outside but share a lot of commonalities. I adored their relationship and could not help but root for them despite the obstacles in their way.
I love, love, loved everything about this book and did not want to put it down. First, I loved that the author gave these main characters occupations that are not found in a lot of books. I loved that despite their desire to be together, both Jamie and Fitz encouraged the other to follow their passion, even though it meant that they would be apart. And I loved how close they became despite that distance and how connected they were even across the miles, and that they continued to nurture their friendship/relationship while apart.
This story had a bit of mystery to it and was definitely not lacking drama, but it also had humor, friendship and love, and Jamie and Fitz had so much chemistry. From Air is probably my favorite book of this authors and I have read quite a few of her books. This book is going to stay with me for a while.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

My first ever read From Air by Jewel E.Ann and by it was amazing . I loved the banter between Jamie and fitz .Their chemistry was on point . This book did not disappoint at all . Can’t wait to see what’s to come in this series .

🔥Firefighter/Travel Nurse
🔥Age Gap
🔥Grumpy/Sunshine
🔥Roommates to lovers
🔥Found Family
🔥 Trauma/Healing
🔥Amazing Banter
🔥Forbidden Romance
After her mother’s death, Jaymes(Jamie), a travel nurse takes her first assignment in Missoula for six months. She moves into a house with three roommates, one being Calvin(Fitz). Fitz is a grumpy smoke jumper. Because of past trauma, he has made his job his entire life and is emotionally unavailable.
Jamie comes in all sunshine and roses and does everything possible to chip away at Fritz’s hard edges.
The banter is top tier. The chemistry is undeniable. The spice is HOT!
This love story is a great example of actions speak louder than words. No over the top grand gestures, but small things that mean everything!!
Jewel E Ann did an amazing job at making me feel everything the characters were going through. The giddiness, the longing, the excitement, and the pain. Oh how my heart aches for them.
This story is beautifully written. You will laugh, you will cry, and there will be moments that shock you completely.
Jewel E Ann just has a way with words. It’s no wonder she is one of my all time favorite authors! Loved every minute of this book.

HOW DO YOU DESCRIBE ONE OF THE MOST PERFECT BOOKS YOU'VE EVER READ IN ONE SLIDE. THIS WAS EVERYTHING. EMOTIONAL AS HELL, WITH BUTTERFLIES TWISTING IN MY STOMACH FROM THE SHEER RAW ROMANCE OF IT ALL. HILARIOUS BANTER THAT HAD ME SQUEALING. QUIET LOVE SHOWN THROUGH ACTION. HIGH TENSION ONLY RELEASED BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. A SLIGHT MYSTERY ELEMENT THAT HAD ME ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT. QUOTES! SO MANY QUOTES! EXTREME TRAGEDY & TRAUMA. PERFECTLY IMPERFECT PEOPLE WITH COMPLEX PASTS & TRICKY FUTURES. I COULD GO ON & ON & ON.

There are some books you read that when you finish you are just blown away. This was one of those books for me. I went into this completely blind. In fact, it’s the first book by this author I’ve ever read. Suffice it to say, Jewel just landed on my list of favorite authors.
I love the dynamic, chemistry, and banter between Jaymes (Jamie) and Calvin (Fitz). These characters are raw, real, and relatable. The humor and sarcasm perfectly balances out the tension, pain, and angst. These two go through a gamut of emotions that bleed onto the page.
This story is a woven tapestry of twists and turns. It’s a comedy. It’s a tragedy. It’s a love story. The way it’s all tied together in the end is masterful. This book just catapulted to my top read of the year so far, and there is not one thing I would change about it.

When Jamie Andrews, a psychiatric nurse arrives in rural Montana, she finds herself moving in with a house full of firefighters. There she meets Calvin Fitzgerald, a grumpy smoke jumper, ten years her senior. She finds him interesting and is determined to unpack him. However, Fitz is not open to her analysing him. Jamie knows that he has a secret and she is desperate to learn what it is, before the secret harms their relationship.
This book had plenty of sizzle and angst between two quite complex characters. To add to this, the banter between Jamie and Fitz made this all the more enjoyable, giving depth to their romance. Whilst their past traumas could have kept them apart, leading to a doomed relationship, their ability to work together, made for such an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jamie is a girl from Miami Florida who is a travel nurse. She she leaves everything she knows in in Miami on the road to self discovery after grieving her mother. Calvin is a smoke jumper that lives in Montana.. Calvin is super closed off and grumpy. Jamie is a sunshine in human form.. they find love in the most unexpected places. Jamie finds out some information that could run the trajectory of their relationship. Would they survive this? Such a great read.

I wish there was a way to give a book more than 5 stars. I would give this book every star. I love how Jewel's books make you feel so much emotion. I laughed and cried and felt so much for these characters. Fitz and Jaymes were inevitable. Life is also tragic and unfair. My heart broke for them and healed with them. The unspeakable actions of people in their life that almost kept them apart. But I loved their love. Their banter might have been the best banter I have ever read in a book.
And to see their life come together so beautifully in the end was just absolute perfection. Bravo Jewel!

This was my first Jewel E. Ann book, and it certainly will not be my last. This book was ANGSTY. The will they/won't they had me hooked. I'm a sucker for a man who doesn't want love but finds a woman who makes it impossible for him to stay away. This book deals largely with grief and I think it was very well done. The twists and turns were not something I expected, but highly enjoyed it. This book was the right balance of romance, plot & spice.
Read if you like:
- Tortured, grumpy MMC
- Enemies to lovers
- Age-Gap (10 years)
- Firefighter romance
- Found Family
- Will they/Won't they

Another banger from Jewel. I swear this woman knows how to catch my attention so quickly with her writing. I absolutely adored this book!!! Jaymes (Jamie) and Calvin stole my heart both individually and together. Calvin’s job was so interesting and I loved that I had to come up with several different theories about his life before the truth was revealed. I loved the craziness of his life and of how Jamie fit into it once things were finally out in the open. There was a minute there when I wasn’t sure things would work out but I have to remember to trust in Jewel, because she’s not done me wrong yet. Truly I can’t say enough good things about this book. Missoula, Montana and the firefighting roommates are wonderful and I can’t wait to read about the others!

Tears were shed during the consumption of this book. I was not prepared for the twists and turns in Fitz and Jamie’s story.
Jamie is a traveling nurse who finds herself living in a house full of firefighters in Montana. Two of her roommates seem normal but it’s Calvin (Fitz) who intrigues her the most. To everyone around him, he’s mostly an enigma who keeps to himself. As time goes by, Jamie slowly peels back the painful layers he keeps hidden.
Fitz is unapologetic about the way he lives his life. He’s a smoke jumper so danger is his constant companion. He’s refuses to have anything to do with commitment. Needless to say, he was very unprepared for Jamie.
Buckle up because these two will tear your heart out. There are many moments that you will smile with their hilarious banter though. Their roommates, Will and Maren, will make you smile every time they are on the page. I loved Jamie and Fitz’s slow burn. They were truly what the other needed. I cannot wait for the next story!

this booook omg 😩 I can’t even find the words rn. I read this in ONE day. I couldn’t put this down because I was just SO intrigued.
Fitz is broody and more than happy to be alone. Even though he doesn’t let anyone get close to him, he has friends who care for him and respect his boundaries. Jaymes takes one look at Fitz and it’s like there’s something there tethering her to him. With the wake up call from his friends/roommates, they helped Fitz realize that he can have the dream and the future that he never thought he could have.
These two and their banter!!! I was so invested in these characters and their background. The way Jewel E Ann writes always hooks me in as multiple books of her are my all time favorites. Always so grateful to receive an arc of her books!

Wow this one was an emotional whirlwind but it also had my giggling and kicking my feet in the air! The humor between them was absolutely hilarious, the story, in pure Jewel E Ann fashion, was twisted and unexpected, and the characters were complicated, broody, and eventually healing <3 would definitely recommend.

The thing about this author is she is going to expertly make my heart so happy, yet simultaneously make it hurt. Jaymes and Fitz's love story did just that. I feel like I reached my highest highs and lowest lows in this book. She's so great at adding so much dimension and emotions into books, and by the end I was beyond healed.
Jaymes is a traveling nurse who rents a room from a group of firefighter friends in Montana. The grumpiest of them, Calvin Fitzgerald, is a smoke jumper who risks his life with every wildfire job he goes on. But that's not why he's a grump. That's much deeper, and gets told slowly throughout the story as Jaymes peels away all of his layers.
He’s an earthquake— a force of nature. And I don’t stand a chance of surviving him.
She's such a bright ray of sunshine for this wily group of friends and does her best to engage each of them in meaningful ways. With Fitz she finds he's easy to tease and banter with. They throw insults back and forth so easily, and soon enough those interactions turn flirtatious.
When Jaymes and Fitz start falling into lust with one another it's beautiful. Two shattered hearts finding solace in one another? Sign me up! They're reluctant to show their true feelings, hesitant to put their heart on the line in any real way, and yet they can't help but feel the tug on that string that's drawing them together. They're soulmates, best friends, kindred spirits, and yet they stumble their way through finding and keeping love.
This book was so beautifully written, and I'd happily read more books by this author, or in this series.

This was the first book I have read by this author and there's a lot of 5 star reviews out there, but I dunno clearly something didn't click for me. Can i pinpoint that feeling exactly? Not really.
This is about a challenging love story between a travelling psychiatric nurse and a firefighter (and him jumping out of planes to do so!? I did not know that was a thing!).
There is a banter between our main characters and they are both as equally flawed as eachother, with some tragic events in their backstories.
There's a twist in the second half and whilst it furthers the plot it didn't make me want to root for the characters to be together.
It was an ok read but I didn't find myself attached to anyone in any capacity.
