I went into this book completely blind, and let me tell you, I was not prepared for what it did to my heart. Wow, what a way to kick off a series! I loved how unique the characters’ jobs were – they weren’t the usual ones you see in a lot of books, so it was a refreshing change and added a lot of depth to the story. Learning about these different careers was honestly one of my favorite parts.

Calvin and Jaymes' story had everything I didn’t know I needed: age gap, grumpy to sunshine, enemies to lovers, and the cherry on top – found family. The emotions were so real, I was laughing one moment, crying the next, and of course, swooning throughout.

Overall, this book was just fantastic – well-written, emotionally charged, and full of heart. Can’t wait to see what comes next in the series!

An intense romance that will leave you breathless, this book will take you on a thrilling journey filled with danger, passion, and the complexities of love. From Air takes place in the rugged snowy wilderness of Montana, Jamie, a traveling psychiatric nurse, finds herself living in a house full of wild and fearless smoke jumping firefighters. Will, Maren and Fitz soon make Jamie feel like she is a part of the family they have built. Fitz on the other hand is broody and quiet but Jamie's constant teasing and challenges lead to playful banter that leaves you laughing and rooting for them to take it futher. But Fitz is hiding something from his past that Jamie just can't seem to uncover but as Jamie starts uncovering secrets from her own past she finds that she has a connection with one of her roommates that may just tear thier new little family apart. I love Jewel E. Ann's writing, she is definitly onw of the best writers of our times. Her ability to delve deep into the hearts and minds of her characters, exploring their fears and desires makes her characters unforgettable and her books must reads. From Air is a rollercoaster of a ride from swoony romance to suspense, it doesn't end on a cliffhanger but there is a book 2 in the series and I can't wait.

This was a steamy read! I loved the dynamics between characters. This was outside of my usual realm of topics to read for romances, but I was here for it. Will definitely be looking for more works from this author in the future.

From Air blew me away! I was hooked from the very first page and completely immersed in Jamie and Calvin’s (aka Fitz’s) journey. Their banter and chemistry were next-level perfection—every interaction sizzled with tension and heart. Watching them navigate the challenges of building a relationship kept me glued to the story.

J.E.A.’s writing is a masterclass in emotional storytelling, balancing angst, surprises, and those moments that make you feel everything. I loved the depth and complexity she brought to Jamie and Calvin, but the side characters, Will and Maren, deserve a huge shoutout, too. There’s clearly so much more to explore with them, and I’m already eager for the next book in the series.

If you’re into stories with addictive writing, unforgettable characters, and a romance that’s truly something special, From Air is a must-read. Highly recommend!

From Air was so good!!!! Jewel E. Ann did it again. This book was amazing. I loved the banter and back and forth between Fitz and Jaymes. They were perfect for each other. Their chemistry and love was amazing. The story was so good and easy to read. I loved the spice and the storyline. Fitz was a jerk but also so easy to love. I loved Jaymes. She was so sweet and kind and caring. The twist left me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't believe it. I was surprised and left without words. The emotions and heartbreak were perfectly written. The ending was amazing and I can say this was my favorite book for the month and maybe the year.

A really enjoyable story about two people who have experienced something that has changed them in a significant way. Jaime decides to see more of America and embraces life as a travel nurse when she gets to her first stop, in Montana. Her first encounter with the abrasive Calvin leaves much to be desired, but there is just something about him. Their roommates hope she may just heal whatever is broken in him, which they joke about often. He is not interested in anything meaningful in his life, work is all he wants to worry about. But Jaime brings out something in him he cant deny and their attraction is hard to deny, despite the no sleeping with other people in the house. Their tragic pasts have other plans for them and put a massive wrench in any future they may have had, and they are torn apart. Jaime just wants to know what secrets her mother kept from her and Calvin wants to never speak about what happened to his family, fate has other plans and they will have to figure out how to live with what happened to them, and maybe find a way to move on, alone or together. I shed a few tears so be prepared! I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait for the third story!

This is a top-read of 2024!!! "From Air" is a captivating read that deserves ALL THE STARS!!!!

Words cannot express how much I loved this book! It was gut-wrenching, intensely emotional, funny, witty, thrilling, suspenseful, sizzling hot, and angsty. I laughed. I cried. My emotions were all over the place. My heart was obliterated. These characters are some of my all-time favorite. Calvin is a smoke-jumper fire fighter and a Jamie is a traveling nurse. They're damaged and have tragic pasts and trauma, but they are not beyond repair. They were supposed to be off-limits, but they are finding it increasingly difficult to fight their attraction to each other. But fate is quite fickle, and throws them some heavy roadblocks. Will Calvin and Jamie's spark ignite and turn into an inferno, or will fate douse the fire before it starts? I was fully entertained by the the witty banter and the shocking plot twists and turns.

Jewel E. Ann is one of my favorite authors, and this book is one of the many reasons why. She has such a way with the words she writes. Her words evoke such strong emotions and conjure up vivid scenes, to where I feel as if I am living the story. I can feel the intense emotions and picture myself as the characters. She is such a talented author, and has totally outdone herself with "From Air." I was entertained from beginning to end, and couldn't put this book down. You won't be sorry! I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book in the Wildfire series. I have purposely kept this review vague, because it deserves to be experienced going in blind. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend reading this book. This is a standalone that ends with a hard-won HEA!

I loved this. I highlighted a few super swoony lines, smiled at all their cute banter, and cried a bunch. Because duh. That's a given with this author's books. At one point I was SHOCKED at how things were going. Jaymes and Fitz were so meant to be, though. Fate may be twisted but it did it's job.

“Because not kissing you became exhausting”

One of my fave reads of the year. From Air is quirky, unexpected and absolutely magical. When I tell you that I fell in love with Calvin and Jamie. These two originally clashed but it was definitely to try to fight their obvious attraction. The banter between these two was chefs kiss! And Calvin was so swoony- I found myself highlighting a quote from him almost every chapter. And color me intrigued with the surrounding cast of characters. This one gives you all the feels- you will laugh and cry - be prepared for some angst when you least expect it. I just loved these two so much and I would give them all the stars!

I neverrrrr wanted this book to end! It was such a beautiful story about finding your person and loving them for who they are. Jamie and Calvin’s relationship was both easy and hard at the same time. From the start, they just got each other. But Calvin’s past has made it impossible for him to open up his heart to anyone. He has a job where he risks his life every day and doesn’t want someone at home worrying about whether he’s okay. But Jamie is unlike anyone he’s ever met and he finds himself falling for her despite his best efforts not to. And then their pasts intertwine in the most devastating way, testing their relationship to the max. Their love for each other was fought hard for. I loved every second of their story.

All the stars!!! This masterpiece releases tomorrow and it is a MUST read. This book has it all. You will laugh, cry, swoon and fall completely in love with the characters and story. The banter between these two had me laughing SO hard and the twist I didn’t see coming kept me glued to my kindle. I don’t know how Jewel does it every time to me but gosh this book will be with me for a very long time. Easily one of my top reads. I can’t wait for more from this series.

This is the second book of Jewel's I've read (Sunday Morning being the first, which immediately made me a fan for life). And for the second time, I am out here emotional, a bit raw but so full of that special joy that comes with reading a truly incredible book.

Here's the short story:

• Firefighter MMC
• Traveling Nurse FMC
• Age Gap
• Angsty and Emotional AF
• Roommates-to-Lovers
• Forced Proximity
• Found Family
• Grumpy/Sunshine
• Tragic Past/Secrets

The longer version starts off with the fact that I went in knowing literally nothing about this book but suspecting I'd love it with my whole heart. I was not wrong.

This story of Calvin and Jamie, smoke jumping firefighter and traveling nurse who becomes his roommate, is overflowing with really smart humor, incredible found family, truly gut-wrenching past tragedy and grief, and a kind of healing journey that had me reading through tears. It was compelling and captivating, with a plot that will keep you turning the page. It has a kind of depth and nuance that only a REALLY talented writer can pull off with ease. And damn, did she ever.

This one is special, friends.

Jamie and Calvin stole my heart. And this book is easily in my top of the year.

Endless thanks to Jewel and Valentine PR for the chance to read this beautiful story in advance!

From Air is another angsty, heart wrenching, wonderful grumpy/sunshine romance with a bit of spice thrown in for good measure. This story like all of Jewel E. Ann's stories have all the feels and she really makes you feel them, I loved it!! I highly recommend ALL of her books!

I received an ARC from the author and I am happily and voluntarily leaving my review.

There are a handful of gifted storytellers I can always count on for an evocative, deeply moving romance, and JEA once again delivers an epic, heartfelt read that lingers long after the last page.

Jaymes Andrews is a travel nurse specializing in psychiatric care. Her next six months will be in Missoula, MT, sharing a house with firefighters, a place she rented sight unseen. She doesn’t have much in common with her roommates, but she's intrigued by people who run headlong into danger on a regular basis. And stoic, enigmatic, smoke jumper Calvin Fitzgerald has Jaymes's gears turning.

Truly, I’m in awe of the talent embodied in this compelling, complicated, heart-wrenching romance with a dramatic twist. I flew through the pages, reading late into the night, only to wish I could spend an eternity with these amazing characters. Full of humor, steam, and heart, you won’t want to miss this!

Jamie and Fitz !! ❤️❤️
From Air by Jewel E Ann was such a sweet, emotional romance! Fitz was very careful with his heart and emotions that he created a barrier for no one to enter. Jamie changed all of that -:the powers of the right person can make all the difference.

I felt like I was immersed in a movie! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4
Jamie is a traveling nurse moving across the country to live with three roommates. Calvin is a smoke jumper that is very curmudgeonly and keeps evervone at arms length after a trauma he went through.
Jamie is determined that she will "fix" Calvin by the time she moves away. There's only one house rule and it's do not sleep with a roommate. As she starts to break down his walls she starts to become attached. Can he reciprocate her feelings?
-forbidden love
-10 year age gap
-roommates
-hilarious banter
-found family
-grumpy/sunshine
-tragic pasts
This was a romantic suspense with many secrets unfolding.
This is my second book in the series and I loved them both!

This was my first firefighter romance and let me say, it did not disappoint. This book was such a perfect romance for me. My absolute favorite part is how Fitz and Jamie are “each others person”. To me this is so much more than a fling or a romcom, it was a deeply felt connection and I ate it up.

I loved Calvin’s personality and Jamie’s way of breaking through to him. The angst and chemistry between the two was on fire. I highly recommend this book! It’s just a good, short, romance novel.

While reading Jamie and Fitz have laugh out loud shaking your head banter with instant chemistry. Fritz is a firefighter which intrigued me because I’m currently watching some shows that are firefighter based, seeing the other types and all the work they do is way more then I ever thought they did. Jamie is a traveling psychiatric nurse that moves in with a group of fire fighters in Montana. I was instantly hooked into there story. I can’t believe that this is the first book, it’s got you feeling every emotion they feel. This was an explosive first read in a series I can’t wait to see what the series holds.

2.5 ⭐️ 2 🌶️

This was painful to read. And I hate saying that because this sounded so good. But the way it was written felt very choppy and rushed for 50-60% of the book. Almost as if the first half was a draft of an outline and only the ending was fully done.

I didn’t understand the attraction between them and when there were moments it was briefly described. I expected there to be more tension due to them being roommates, but NOPE insta everything.

Things didn’t start picking up until almost the end of the book when the twist happened. While it was HIGHLY unlikely all of those events lined up, at least it wasn’t boring.

Tropes:
•roommates
•tragic pasts
•forbidden love
•close proximity
•twist ending

“So it doesn’t make sense that I know Calvin Fitzgerald is on his way to obliterating my heart. Yet, I do. I know it with absolute certainty.”

This was my first book by Jewel and I can say I absolutely want to read her whole backlog. The grumpy/sunshine trope gets me every time. This kinda heated up fairly quickly between Jamie and Fitz and I enjoyed their banter. The last like 15%-20% was absolutely gut wrenching. A must read if you need to ugly cry!
