Non-practicing witch Trixie Gardens has a lot of problems - and an annoyingly large amount centre around billionaire vampire Dominic Kent. Problem no. 1: she's about to be kicked out of her apartment by the building owner...Dominic. Problem no. 2: She's accidentally in the running to be the newest member on the paranormal council - a position she most definitely doesn't want - and guess who else is in the running? Dominic. Problem no. 3: The sparks-and hexes-flying between her and, you guessed it, Dominic.
But can Trixie & Dominic put their feelings aside long enough to make it through the election campaign with both their heads and hearts intact?
A paranormal romance with a broody vampire, a sassy witch, and a dash of hate hexing? I thought this book would be the perfect potion. Unfortunately, Hate Hex fell a little flat for me.
Hmmm there were some inconsistencies throughout the book, nothing major though – like a character would reveal something about their past and then a dozen or so pages later they’d be explaining the same past to a different character and suddenly it was different?? Also there were some missed grammatical errors in editing.
I thought the writing, while simple and easy to follow, was kinda cringey. It was very casual and felt like I was reading someone’s diary.
I liked the characters – although I didn’t like Dominic in the beginning. I also didn’t like Trixie by the end with all her "BuT yOu DoN’t UnDeRsTaNd My PrObLeMs” and somehow that was justification for her bratty behaviour.
I liked Dom and Trixie together. I appreciated the author changing Trixie referring to Dominic as Dom as she got to know him more, although I think I would’ve preferred if it had happened later in the plot, just because they still weren’t even friends and she was like ‘Dom this’ and ‘Dom that’ and I’m like you’re literally scalding the guy for hexing you like you had hexed him 2 days ago???
The hate hexing was fun, but I wish there had been a little more back and forth.
Otherwise this was quite a quick and fun read, it filled up my air time on a business trip perfectly, and while I probably wouldn't pick up another one of this author's books because it's written by them, I wouldn't put it down based on that either. It was a solid-enough book as my introduction to this author.
Thankyou to publisher & NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It's always a good time of the year to read a witchy rom com, and Hate Hex was such an adorable one! Grumpy/ Sunshine and enemies to lovers... what's not to love! I loved the dynamic between Trixie and Dom. They were so much fun! I also really enjoyed how Trixie's powers developed and the conflict between Dom and his brother. It was a little predictable, but all in all a fun read!
Thank you netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review

Sadly this one was just meh for me. It was missing something. I was hoping for more of action considering his brother and what he did.
This could be the perfect book for someone.

Thank you for the opportunity to read Hate Hex,
Hate Hex is a quick & fun paranormal romance perfect for getting you into the spooky season. This is a fast paced romcom which is nice in a world of slow burns.

I love it ! It was cosy, cute and most of was fun! The pacing was good , maybe at time was a little slowly.. but still. The author was able to crate an enemies to lovers with great chemistry between the characters ! So I’ll say that if you need an easy and fun read after a reading slump, this is it!

I LOVED THIS BOOK. It’s cute, it’s funny, it’s unique. I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this story.
I’m not going to give a recap of the storyline, because you can search that online. However, I will tell you all the things I loved about it.
The FMC, Trixie, is nearly 30 and a mess. Holla at all the near-and-or-around 30 year old millennial messes out there. She’s with us. Her whole “I’m so sad and I repress my magic” thing could have been incredibly annoying, but the author handles it super well. Trixie’s growth moves along at a wonderful pace, where you can recognize her struggles and trauma, without it becoming maudlin and overcoming the entire story.
Speaking of pacing, this book is exceptionally well paced. It doesn’t rush, but it’s not incredibly drawn out. It moves along at the exact pace you need it to. Slight slow burn, but with an oddly human infusion. That rush of dating someone at first and getting to know them - this witch and vamp are totally, geekily human about it.
We love Dom. Love him, ok? He’s like the grown up billionaire Eddie Cullen we millennials need in our aging days. The banter between Trixie and Dom (it’s not a spoiler, ok, we know it’s going to happen!) is perfect. It’s fun & light, even when things aren’t all that fun & light.
You know who else we love? Grandma Betty. She’s a baddie and I am not taking criticism on this.
This is borderline cozy fantasy. The drama is dramatic, but it’s paced so well and couched so well, that you don’t have the heart-attack inducing anxiety from a massive fantasy. It’s like cozy fantasy meets witchy New York.
It’s so, so good!

If you’re looking for a light, fast-paced romcom, Hate Hex is a great pick! The story is fun and easy to read, with a charming romance at its core. While the relationship develops quickly through an insta-love trope, the dynamic between the characters is still sweet and engaging. Both protagonists are lovable, making it easy to root for their happily-ever-after.
One of my favorite aspects was the use of multiple POVs, which added depth to the story. Seeing both characters’ perspectives helped me connect with their emotions and motivations, making their romance feel more well-rounded.
Overall, this is an enjoyable, feel-good read—perfect for fans of lighthearted, magical romances who don’t mind a fast-paced love story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an advanced reader copy.

3.5 Stars. A fun, quick, paranormal, witchy read. The storyline is engaging, with a strong emphasis on magic and romance. The side plot about politics did feel underdeveloped but not hard to follow. However, the FMCs point of view can be somewhat challenging to read from. Her reluctance to embrace magic isn't fully explained until halfway through the book, which might leave readers confused.

A fun and lighthearted read! Perfect for the witchy season. Great if you just need something light and fun!

Im giving this book 3 ⭐ because they were some parts I didn't really get to be honest it was like ok read for me i don't really have much to say to be honest they were some part i like but im on the middle with this one

Hate Hex is a fun romance! I enjoy the humour and it helped me pull me out of a reading slump. Just a feel good romance that will make you smile and laugh.

I am always here for an enemies to lovers plot and this was a great take on this trope. This was a super easy and fun read, with characters that radiated chemistry and the magical twist to this rom com really added to it in my opinion. I'd say if you're looking for an easy to read and enjoyable book with some spice then this would be for you!

WOWWWW WOWOWOWOWIWO WOWZER THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!! THE WHOLE TIME I WAS READING J WAS GIGGLING YOU WILL NEVER CATCH ME TAKING ANY HATE FOR THIS!!!!

“Hate Hex” was a super fun, magical twist on the enemies-to-lovers trope! Trixie and Dominic had fantastic banter, and their chemistry crackled just as much as the spells flying between them. The mix of humor, paranormal chaos, and slow-burn romance made this such an entertaining read. I especially loved Trixie’s sass and Dominic’s grumpy-but-secretly-soft vibe. The pacing dragged a little in some parts, and I wished for a bit more depth in their emotional connection, but overall, it was a charming and spellbinding rom-com that I’d definitely recommend!

This book is which a feel good romantic book with humour without, definitely should be a boon people pick up as it’s very enjoyable and an easy read

This was so funny! I love when there is real humor in a story. Definitely pick this up if you're looking for a fun time
Thanks to the publisher for the advanced copy!

I liked this book! It is a perfect book to read in the fall season. I do recommend this book if you like this genre!

A gripping book, this story pulls you till the very end, I enjoyed reading it. I definitely will love to see more from the author

The story was not bad. I liked the fact that we have a paranormal romance here, but I wasn't able to get into the story and the romance between the characters. Although the characters are very cute and funny.
And I am grateful for the double pov. Really loved it.
It was an easy read for the evening to relax and not think about everything that's going on around me.

Unfortunately this just wasn’t for me. I had a hard time getting through it and the characters were a bit difficult to root for or care about.
