Wow! Very creepy and the perfect book for these darker nights just to really up the eerie vibes. We'll written and just an easy read. Some bits felt like they dragged a little but I was hooked
This book wasn't really for me. However I did read it within a few night so it must have been engaging enough. I couldn't really connect with the characters and I found Evy quite hard to relate to. I think I was expecting a bit more at the end.
Sorry, this is a DNF for me. I found it a depressing read and stopped after a number of chapters.
Thank you NetGalley and the Publishers for this ARC
Wow wow wow! I am literally lost for words. This book is absolutely terrifyingly good. It's addictive, full of twists and the suspense is gripping. Honestly my heart was pounding, I didn't know what was going to happen next. This is one of the best books I've read. The easiest 5 stars I've ever given.
This is by far my favourite book this year, and I read a lot! The writing style is beautiful, and very clever. I really enjoyed the dark, atmospheric plot. It’s a great read and one that I’d definitely recommend.
Helen Flood does it again. What a great read. I couldn't put it down
Thank you for the opportunity to review
A creepy (and i mean creepy) and compelling read.
Fabulous storyline and well written characters.
This is one not to miss!
My thanks to netgalley and the publisher for my copy.
Dark and creepy, this novel has an almost insidous way of getting under your skin. I love a good creepy house mystery, but this is so much more and would make a great film. I read this on a baking hot day, but it's definitely one to be read by candlelight, with a howling wind! Fantastic read.

Bloody brilliant.
Erling's parents insisted it be held in his name only, that their old furniture should remain in place after they were gone. And now Erling's gone too. Her husband and her rock. A heart attack while riding his bike. No trace of his medications were found in his body, as if someone had tampered with them. Right now, Evy can't be sure of anything. Her memory's patchy, her focus blurred. Her grown-up children whisper about her like she can't be trusted to look after herself. How can she tell them she doesn't feel safe in the house? Doors left open she closed herself. Erling's possessions no longer where he left them.
I really appreciate the writing style. It was a fab read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Quercus Books for giving me an advance copy.
