Wow, a breathtakingly beautiful story, I wasn't expecting it but it gripped me straight away.

We meet Imogen who is a single, workaholic wrapped up in a weave of lies to keep the people around her at arms length. After an incident at work she is left with some time off and a client offers a place to stay.

We are transported to a snowy sleepy Christmas village with a handsome vet and Dorothy and her family and her mini farm of rescued animals. Everyone needs a Dorothy in their life.

Secrets unfold and Imogen rediscovers her past and the people in it and she realises that everything in her wildest fantasies could actually be her reality.

A great easy christmas story, I felt all warm and gooey at the end, as anyone should at Christmas.

Another great Christmas story from Sarah Morgan! I dont know how she does it but she just makes the characthers so believeable and likeable, its wonderful. The snowy Christmas setting and a dash of romance make this a wonderful read for this time of year. I have to admit I found Imogen a little hard to liek at first, but when you learnt her back story it was understandable why she was so cold. All she needed was Dorothy and family and a little love interest in the shape of the local vet and it softened her up. The only problem with a Sarah Morgan Christmas read is that I want to hear more from the characters not just a stand alone book!!

I love a Sarah Morgan Christmas themed book and was thrilled when I was invited by the publishers via Netgalley to read this one. As usual it didn't disappoint.

The writing had me hooked from the beginning to the end. In fact I was a bit sad that it came to an end when it did. I wanted to know more about the main character's future and how it all panned out in the end.

I enjoyed the Christmas related descriptions of places and events. They were magical and it really got me in to the festive spirit (albeit a little early!).

I was quite invested in this story so it only took me a couple of sittings to get through, perfect for over the festive season.

The chapters were fairly long and were labelled with the character whose perspective you were reading from. You were able to get a good chunk of how that character was feeling and what they were doing before moving on to the next person. This technique gave the story a well rounded feel.

There was a good flow to the book despite jumping around different character perspectives, and the length of each chapter helped to give the story a good pace. Because of this I happily sat and read through it in a couple of sittings.

The characters were good. I really felt for the main character and enjoyed being on her journey. The surrounding characters were good and emphasised parts of the main character's personality well. I wanted to read more about them all!

I loved the message of family, friends and support that shone through this book. It is something nice to read about at Christmas.

Lastly the settings. I loved the "chocolate box" settings with the snow, lights and everything that the mind conjures up when it thinks of Christmas. The descriptions really took you there without taking anything from the main storyline.

Overall a lovely Christmas read.

A wonderful warm Christmas read. I loved the way the main characters interacted and the sensitive way the story unfolded. The two versions of history, told and real were brilliantly handled.

I always look forward to Sarah's Christmas book each year and I think this may be my favourite one yet.
Imogen has lived such a lonely life, having been treated appallingly by her mother.
Close to a burnout at work, she goes to the Cotswolds to spend some time at a cottage owned by her favourite customer, Dorothy.
While there, Imogen discovers more than she could ever have hoped.

I loved Imogen - I was hoping she would find more meaning to her life and people that she had dreamed of as a family.
The setting at Winterbury and Holly Cottage were amazing and made me wish I lived somewhere like this.
Such a lovely book, filled with beautiful characters. I didn't want it to end!

What a great book. Really festive and snowy. Perfectly perfect for all the festive feels you need for a book.
I really liked the characters a lot. Loved the family dynamics and loved the love. Imogen is all alone in the works, she’s weaves a fairytale life around her to try and fit in at work. She has the perfect family and Midas the golden retriever. Except this is all made up. What she has is a sad alcoholic no hoper of a mother, no supportive family as her mum has told her they abandoned her and she certainly doesn’t have a pet. Imogen reaches breaking point after another showdown from her disappointing mum.
She is thrown a lifeline from one of her clients, her favourite client Dorothy, she may well get the family Christmas she has always dreamed of by default as she is invited to spend it in a cottage at Dorothy’s home. Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

Another fabulous book from Sarah Morgan.
This one tells the story of Imogen, a successful but lonely workaholic. Imogen has no family other than her mother, who makes it clear that she has no interest in her.
Imogen is offered the use of Holly Cottage in the snowy Cotswolds by a work contact, to take a complete break from her work obsessed life. A kind gesture which is about to change her life forever.
A lovely festive read.

An interesting take on a Christmas story. It reminded me of a Christmas movie I had seen a few years ago. Miles was a gorgeous character but I found Imogen rather annoying. It took a few chapters before I really got into the book and understood how the characters were connected, but I enjoyed it afterwards. Not as Christmassy as I expected but still a good read. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book.

Imogen is great at her job. She’s professional, in demand and her colleagues are in awe of her. The problem is, they don’t know the true Imogen. The life she’s led them to believe is very different from the painful truth. After a mistake at work, Imogen realised she needs to reset and thanks to Dorothy, her favourite client, she’s offered the chance to spend Christmas in a gorgeous cottage in the Cotswolds. It seems an idyllic situation and with a hint of romance on the horizon, it could be the prefect distraction she needs. However, secrets and fades from the past are soon unearthed and Imogen’s peace could soon be shattered.

This was just a Christmas hug in a book. It’s heartwarming and endearing with a gorgeous festive setting and characters that will stay with you long after you’ve finished the last page. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.

I adored this book! I found myself really rooting for Imogen right from the start and loved following her journey. I didn’t guess the twist in the middle at all and I loved the way the story was told from the pov of 3 of the different characters, it really helped to build depth to all the characters in my opinion. It was such a heartwarming story with plenty of Christmas magic thrown in and obviously a bit of romance too. Basically everything you could possibly want in a Christmas novel. Absolute perfection!

Christmas can be the most wonderful time of the year; it can also be the loneliest, as Imogen knows only too well. Luckily she loves her job as an event organiser so while her colleagues are all enjoying some family tine Imogen is preparing for the coming year and ignoring the festivities.
When Imogen makes an uncharacteristic mistake her boss realises that she is doing far too much and orders Imogen to take a well-earned break.
Dreading the thought of spending Christmas without being able to work, Imogen takes up the offer from one of her clients, Dorothy, to stay in a cottage in the Cotswolds, in the grounds of Dorothy’s home.
Imogen decides to use the time to switch off from everything, including Christmas. But as she gets to know Dorothy and her family better she begins to see the appeal of a family Christmas. Can Imogen embrace a new future or is the past too deeply ingrained.
A lovely big dollop of Christmas warmth in a book. Characters that will capture your heart all set in the snowy Cotswolds.

My run up to Christmas would just not be complete without a wonderful Sarah Morgan festive book! And this latest one was as excellent as all her others I have read! Christmas is all about family and this is the basis of this story - Imogen doesn't have one, or anyone else in her life other than a very poor excuse for a mother. However, her story changes when she is forced to take an extended break from work and ends up in a simply divine sounding cottage in the Cotswolds (a magical part of the world). You can't read a Sarah Morgan book without wanting to jump into the pages and join in - and that's exactly what I felt with this story. Oh and it's Christmas so it has to have a happy ending, which this did! Please read this for yourselves if you are looking for a wonderful feel-good festive read that is pure escapism and will have you packing your bags to drive to Holly Cottage immediately!

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review, which is what I have given.

A cosy festive treat for the cold winter months.

Imogen thrusts herself into her work, there is no down time over the festive season. But secrets have a way of affecting us, and her past comes back to haunt her, risking the career she’s worked hard to forge.

Well meaning client Dorothy sees the Strain and offers respite in the form of her Cotswolds cottage. An offer that concerns her daughter Sara. Will the well meaning gesture be smooth sailing? Or is there trouble a foot?

This was an enjoyable cosy festive read, the twist was not all that surprising, but excellently written and executed. There is a dash of romance that warms the heart, like a shot of baileys in a hot chocolate. But the main focus is on Imogen, and what she faces and comes to learn.

I would have given 4.5 stars but it definitely deserved more than 4.

I’m a great lover of Sarah Morgan’s books especially the Christmas ones so this is a great treat. The lead character Imogen has had a difficult childhood leading to a lonely and sterile adult life. Enforced leave from her job in the lead up to Christmas gives her an opportunity to recalibrate with completely unexpected consequences. A fantastic winter warmer of a novel which I highly recommend.

Another lovely festive book by Sarah - secrets, family drama, cute children and an adorable dog.. plus a sprinkling of snow, a handsome Good Samaritan and Christmas traditions. Happy to recommend.

A Christmas Romance with jingle bells on!

If you want a read that has everything Chrismassy in it and includes long lost families, yummy food, snow, a love story and everything else acceptable in a Crimbo book then this is definitely for you

Imogen our main character wants none of the above, she loathes Christmas and all that goes with it but she does have good reason…..but then everything changes and her life becomes the polar opposite of what she was living and she experiences Christmas as she never thought possible

It’s a pure sugar rush of book goodness and the authors ability to make you feel like getting your tree up right now and having a mince pie lasts throughout the whole book

Lovely characters ( mostly but watch out for ‘Tina’ ) and a great village setting with parts set also in London make this a big hug of a book

Sarah Morgan's latest Christmas story ticks every festive feelgood factor you could wish for. There's poignancy and sadnesss at first, with lonely Imogen facing yet another Christmas alone in London, before a kindly client takes her under her wing and offers her the use of her little cottage in the Cotswold. There Imogen discovers what a true family Christmas can be like, with Christmas markets, ice-skating, tree gathering, present buying, all under a snowy Cotswold sky. But can this life ever be hers?
There's plenty drama going on here, with things happening in Imogen;s personal and working life, while the Cotswold family also have pressures to bear - things are never quite as perfect as they seem.
And there's hope of romance with the presence of gorgeous vet Miles and his adorable dog, Ralph.
With lovely, empathetic characters, lots of festive content, humour and pathos, and an on-going drama to keep you turning the pages, this is the perfect book for a cosy Christmas read.
