NOT YOUR BIGGEST FAN is the newest novel by Sara Ney. This is a new adult, opposites attract, sports (football) romcom about a small town girl and a professional athlete who met when they were both in NYC for work. Harlow James warned Landon “Andy” Burke not to eat the undercooked chicken from a street vendor, but he didn’t heed her warning. In a strange twist of fate, they ran into each other again in the hotel elevator, where it was obvious that he had indeed contracted food poisoning. After he recovered, Andy took Harlow on a sightseeing tour of the city for losing their wager about the chicken, and they spent an unforgettable night together. Harlow never expected to see Andy again, but he couldn’t forget the girl who had no idea who he was. Would he make the biggest decision about his professional future in order to live close to a young woman he had known for less than 72 hours? This is a cute, sexy story that was fun from beginning to end. I loved all the little quirks, the sassy dialog, and the smoking hot chemistry between the main characters. Secondary characters such as Harlow’s friends and father and Andy’s best friend added depth and additional comic relief to a pretty amusing story. Of course, I am always here for a story where he falls first! If you are looking for a light, fun sports romcom, then you should definitely check out this one. It will curl your toes! This book is available for free with the kindleunlimited subscription.

The primary trope here is secret identity, for sure. And it is played on for like 70% of the book! I was a bit surprised that the big reveal just… happened. And with minimal drama. Harlow and Andy are cute together - I just felt something missing that made me really connect with their relationship.

"Not Your Biggest Fan" by Sara Ney blends witty banter with sizzling chemistry in this delightful romantic comedy. Harlow, the sharp-witted creator of the dating app Kissmet, is a force to be reckoned with. Her meddling tendencies, though, lead to an unexpected encounter with NFL star Landon "Andy" Burke. Their initial clash sets the stage for a whirlwind romance filled with playful wagers, passionate encounters, and a healthy dose of small-town charm.
This book is a captivating read with engaging characters and a heartwarming story. Harlow's sassy personality and Andy's gruff exterior create a dynamic that will undoubtedly keep readers hooked. The contrast between the bustling city and Harlow's peaceful hometown adds another layer of intrigue to the narrative.

I loved the chemistry between Harlow and Andy. I especially loved the fact that she was into him before she knew who he was. This book was witty and had me laughing out loud more than once, especially after the food cart scene. I really hope to see more from Ney soon

Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney
Not Yours series #1. Contemporary romantic comedy.
Harlow James is behind a man at her favorite food truck in New York when she hears him order chicken. She can’t let him do it. The last time she had chicken from a food truck, she was, well, she regretted it. She tried to warn the muscular stranger, but he just shrugs her off. He’s sure he’ll be fine. When she runs into him at her hotel a few hours later, he’s not fine. He’s been sick and is desperately running for his room. She jokingly mocks him and says just call room 905 when you’re ready for dinner.
Landon “Andy” Burke is an NFL free agent in New York to talk contracts. He figured no one would notice him in a hat and sunglasses and when the woman in the park warned him against the chicken, he figured she was just hitting on him. When he’s feeling better, he asks her out for a day of sightseeing. Of course he’s in disguise with a fake mustache and all, which she laughs at, and then plays along with her own fake mustache. He’s delighted she doesn’t know who he is and they extend their day into nighttime activities.
Harlow leaves the next day for Green Bay, Wisconsin, to her corgi and her goofy dad. She figures it was just a night one thing. Ad adventure in New York. Andy doesn’t feel the same way. He asks for her number and follows up. He wants more.

A sexy romance filled with laughter, friends, attraction, and career. Andy feels free to be himself with Harlow and they form a connection he can’t ignore. It’s sweet, it steamy and adorable.
This was my first read of this author and I love the lighthearted romance. I can’t wait to read her again.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Harlow and Andy meet at a chance encounter in New York and start a whirlwind romance that surprises even them. Little does she know he's hiding a massive secret about who he is and what he does for a living.

*****

This did not work at all. I think the attempt was for cute and flirty banter. However, it missed the mark big time. The dialogue was stilted and cringy, the inner monologues were immature and awkward. The side characters were rude and annoying, and there was no chemistry to speak of between the leads. There was so much texting and side convos to fill the book, yet the whole book and build-up between the two characters only spanned a single week.

One week. Two days together. Then we get a half-hearted conflict that's immediately resolved, and a couple of months' time jump before a secondary characters POV as an epilogue.

It was odd, disjointed, and didn't feel like a properly thought-out book. Instead, it felt like a rush job. I wouldn't recommend this one, as I'm honestly not sure what the intent was behind the entire plot.

Usually, I adore this authors work, so don't let this review stop you from reading her other books. This one is just a miss.

Not Your Biggest Fan was way more fun than I expected! I really liked the direction Sara Ney took Andy & Harlow's love story, the plot twists I wasn't expecting, and that really interesting twist that Harlow having no idea who Andy is.

Harlow is a very peculiar and charming girl: I love that she ALWAYS says what she thinks, especially in that first meeting with Andy, I really liked reading her perspective on love and relationships because this girl is the creator of a dating app and that part of her plot was very interesting, although I would have really liked to read a little more of that in the book because at the end of the day that's the reason for her visit to NY. It was also interesting to read his conflict regarding his relationship with his dad - there were times when I hated Steve a little, but I could also empathize with his situation and the reason behind his intense personality.

Andy is a professional football player who is trying to decide the next step in his career, he is a charming man who stole my heart from the beginning, and I have to say that he was my favorite in the book. I really liked his simple personality, how silly he can be and that flirtatious & slightly cocky side that always appears when he is with Harlow, another thing that I loved about his character was that part of Andy that wants to experience life as an ordinary person, without the pressure of being a celebrity and with the security that the people around him are with him for who he is and not for his fame. Like Harlow, Andy has a very particular relationship with his family that I didn't like at first, BUT I really enjoyed that decisive conversation for him in which he opens up about all the pressure he has to meet his parents' expectations and how they feel about it.

Harlow & Andy meet in New York in a very original and fun way that leads them to spend a whole day together in which our main characters share interesting, sweet and very tender moments, and one of the things I loved most about this couple was reading Andy desperate to maintain that connection with Harlow and willing to do ANYTHING to have her in his life. Another aspect that gives a special touch to the plot is that Harlow has VERY established feelings and beliefs about professional athletes, especially football players, which is why she knows nothing about the subject, doesn't watch sports on TV and has no idea who Andy is when she meets him.

I always know I'm in for a hilarious good time when I dive into a Sara Ney book, and Harlow and Andy's story was great from the meet-cute to the HEA. I loved how sassy and fun Harlow is (her conversations with her friends are so funny!) and Andy was a perfect balance of a strong, yet sweet man. Their antics were a delight- the mustaches had me cackling for sure. Harlow's dad Big Steve was a hoot. I really loved that there was no real third act break-up type drama. This was such a fun book!

Omg a Meet Cute with a difference! I loved this book it was classic Sara Ney full of fun characters that get the reader hooked.

So to start we have our quirky heroine Harlow visiting the big apple to launch her business and feeling like an experienced New Yorker as she strolls the park and gives a PSA to a stranger at a hot dog stand, Now let’s meet our Hero aka the stranger at the hot dog stand Andy. Visiting New York this pro baller is in talks to move teams he never expected a stranger to start talking to him about his food choices, Super Bowl chances and the last game he played sure but not a PSA re chicken vs hot dogs.

This meet cute and the ensuring food poisoning caused by poor hot dog stand choices results in a dinner date with a someone who doesn’t realise exactly who he is, and is quite literally not his biggest fan. Sparks fly and decisions have to be made can Harlow and Andy go the distance or will the press family and friends put a stop t9 there budding relationship.

Gah I loved this book! For starters Andy is a typical Ney hero but he still holds his own with humour and banter with Harlow, Harlow is smart funny and making her way to the top professionally, manifesting success to get success she has friends who love and support and bring there own brand of crazy int9 the world. However my all time favourite character was not the 2 leads but Harlow’s Dad. His and Harlow have such a close relationship that could maybe do with establishing a few more boundaries but that lack is to the readers benefit.

Not Your Biggest Fan by Sara Ney is the first book in the ‘Not Yours’ series and is a fun, rom com with a hilarious meet-cute between the two main characters Harlow and Andy.

Sara’s quick-witted humour in her books is something I enjoy and I know I can always count on her books for a good read as I love the banter that she always includes with her characters.

Small town entrepreneur Harlow is trying to get her new dating app up and running when she bumps into NFL player Andy, who is reviewing his contract with a potential new team, in NYC at a food truck. They make a fun, jokey bet never expecting to ever see each other again but they happen to run into each other again at the hotel they’re both staying at and their love blossoms from there.

I highly recommend reading this book for a fun read.

Not Your Biggest Fan was a very cute sports romance in Sara’s newest series, Not Yours.

I have always enjoyed Sara’s books as they are very light, hardly any drama or angst, lots of humor and characters that make you smile. And you get exactly that with this book.

The meet-cute between Harlow and Andy is very endearing and really sets the tone for this book. Harlow is quite the character and while she says she’s not like her father (Big Steve will be a fave of readers) she definitely exudes the same confidence and inner-strength he has. Andy was entertaining at times, but he really didn’t do much for me, but that didn’t deter me from enjoying the story.

As with most of Sara’s books, the story takes place over a short period of time and we get to see how these characters get to know one another and leaves their outcome open-ended (sometimes seen in other books of the series). I love that Sara’s books have this sort of ending for her characters because nothing is set in stone for them for the future and allows readers to create their own epilogue of sorts.

I am looking forward to more from this series and anxiously await to see who takes Dex down.

Harlow is in New York to find advertisers for Kissmet, the new online dating app she is creating. While there, she meets a very hot stranger at a food truck, who unbeknownst to her is a popular football star named Landon "Andy" Burke. While in line at the truck, Harlow warns Andy about not eating the chicken and makes a bet with him. One she thinks will never come to fruition. Later that night, she runs into Andy in the elevator of her hotel. After they spend a fun filled day and a steamy night together, they part ways. Harlow never thinks she'll she Andy again, until he knocks on her door.

Not Your Biggest Fan was such a fun book! I loved the meet cute moment between Harlow and Andy at the food truck. When they meet again and have their date in New York, I loved how they just clicked. Usually, I don't like instalove/lust, but this just worked for me. They had great banter and communication. The fact that Andy was super famous and Harlow didn't know who he was, yet he kept it hidden from her, didn't both me. I understand the fact that he wanted to be liked because he was a normal person, not because he was famous. There was some drama at the end that I found was a bit childish, but overall, I enjoyed the read.

A wonderful story about meeting someone and hitting it off immediately. A great reminder of when you know, you know! I loved this feel good, romance story from Sara Ney and both our MCs are easy to fall in love with. Being seen for who you are, rather than what you are, is a common theme throughout this book. Also the comfort of being yourself, quirks and all, and being accepted.

Harlow meets a handsome stranger in Central Park and tries to warn him of the dangers of the food truck's chicken items. She has a habit of speaking her mind, but is unapologetically herself, which I love! The flirty banter between her and our stranger was amazing from the beginning. As we get to know her more, she is smart, driven, and comfortable with who she is. I loved her relationship with her dad and understand the need for boundaries, but not wanting to hurt him.

Andy is visiting New York to meet with their pro football team. A new free agent, he is trying to keep a low profile and is so happy that Harlow doesn’t seem to recognize him. When he pursues her after a horrible night of food poisoning, he is able to spend the day just being Andy. After a night together, he can’t get her off his mind. What lengths do you go for someone you have an obvious connection with, one who knows the real you, but doesn’t know the real you?

Sara captured the chemistry between Andy and Harlow wonderfully! I loved their text messages, their inner monologues, and their conversations with friends. Our side characters are a wonderful addition and I am excited to see more of them in later books. Harlow’s dad is easy to love as are Andy’s parents. I loved reading this book by Sara and found myself unable to put it down. The chemistry is off the charts, the spice is *chef’s kiss*, and the dynamic between our two MCs is lighthearted and fun to read about.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

This book was just a good fucking time from beginning to end. I swear it had me laughing so hard that my face hurt!

Harlow and Andy met in the line of a food truck in New York while they were both in the city for business. Thinking they would never see each other again, and not recognizing Andy, who's a famous football player, Harlow bets him that if what he ordered makes him sick, he needs to buy her dinner. Not only did Andy get sick, but he also ran into Harlow in the hotel's elevator while he was running back to his room because he got sick. Since he lost the bet, and enjoying the anonymity, the next Andy takes Harlow on a bus tour of the city and the spend the whole day and night together.

I absolutely loved the connection between Andy and Harlow because more than being attracted to each other, they truly enjoyed just being in each other's company and were always looking to just have a fun time. Needless to say, the interactions and banter between the two were absolutely hilarious.

This was a quick and definitely fun read, and if all of her books are like this one, I am definitely looking forward to reading more of Sara Ney's works.

Quote: “You’re the badass who was brave enough to meet a stranger in the hotel lobby and tour the city with him, wearing an adorable little mustache that made you look like a creepy little pervert.”

Seppy's 5-Star Review:

I really loved this one from Sara Ney! Harlow is working on her new dating app coming out in a few months or so and is in New York. Landon "Andy" Burke is in New York scouting out a new football team. These two meet at a hot dog stand and sparks fly. Harlow is a breath of fresh air for Andy. She speaks her mind and isn't afraid to tell you the honest truth. Andy and Harlow have a connection but there just one problem He fudged the truth and said nothing about being a pretty famous football player. What happens next?

This was another great read. I love that he falls first. Andy is very swoon-worthy. I think Harlow and Andy are a perfect match. I've been in a reading slump and this one brought my excitement for reading back. Great read!

Landon "Andy" Burke takes a moment to enjoy Central Park in NYC while in town for business. When he stops for a quick bite at a local vendor Harlow James offers some unsolicited advice to the stranger ahead of her in line. A hilarious and adorable meet-cute that kicks off a super spicy strangers to lovers sports romance. Filled with family meddling, tabloid fodder, and plenty of laugh-out-loud banter.

Andy's never met a woman like Harlow and is enjoying the simplicity of their connection. What will happen when Harlow discovers the truth? Will she be able to trust Andy? Will they survive the tabloids?

I really enjoyed ALL the characters including their families and Kevin the dog. I can't wait to read the next book in this standalone (and hopefully interconnected) series! I have been a fan of Sara's the moment I discovered her How To Date A Douchebag Series. Sara Ney delivers another must read and if you haven't checked out her backlist head over to kindle unlimited for hours and hours of fun!

This was a cute story that made me laugh on multiple occasions. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. It was silly and lighthearted and sometimes a little cringey. The story, unfortunately, didn’t grab my attention and I didn’t love the characters as much as I’d hope it would. It wasn’t bad; it just wasn’t for me.

I enjoyed the premise of this book, a meet cute between a sassy fmc and a funny mmc. Some things just missed the mark for me, which could very well be a me thing. It was an easy and quick read though and there were some funny lines!

Thank you for the arc opportunity to read this book!

Not Your Biggest Fan is a quick read involving a pro football player and a dating app creator. They meet while both being in New York city for work and have an interesting meet cute at a food truck that starts them on the road to getting to know each other. I enjoyed reading about their time in New York but struggled at times with the pacing of the stories as well as some of the language used throughout the story. Some of the banter was funny and enjoyable, while some of the conversations or things said were just a bit cringey. I would have liked to have seen more development with regard to both main characters. I didn't really feel like I knew much about either of them and I felt like their relationship went from 0 to 1000 in like 3 seconds. I also would have liked to get more information about Harlow meeting Andy's family. I struggled with Harlow's father...a lot. He just came off as a bit creepy. I did like that Andy/Landon fell first and was willing to pursue the girl so determinedly. I love the concept of a pro athlete and your average down to earth girl, but I did feel like this could have been executed a little better.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for an advanced reading copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
