Not bad, giving it a 2.5 rounded up to 3. I enjoyed all of the medical cases but I felt like everything else was unneeded and I kinda just glossed over the rest of it. I did think the characters and the medical cases were very interesting though and I never really imagined what life would be like for a doctor on a cruise ship. It was actually better than I anticipated and my mind barely wandered. I'd recommend for anyone who is interested in stories, real or fake, on cruise ships or anyone who is interested in medical. I will admit the only part that really got under my skin is when Ruth and Tom would argue but I understand that if this is nonfiction, it's what happened and there's no changing it, I just wonder what it would have been like if it was just left out entirely because it just didn't feel needed.

This was a fun book to read. I knew a doctor who worked on a cruise ship for a summer, and they could attest to all the wild happenings and more that happened to this author.

Thank you to NetGalley for this e-copy of Seasick by Ruth Taylor in exchange for a honest review. This was a wonderfully written account written by Dr Taylor of her 21 day voyage between England and Rio where she is faced with many different medical ailments that the guests onboard present with. She has to deal with everything from an alcoholic nurse co-worker to many cases of norovirus and even an emergency evacuation..Perfect read for someone like me who loves to cruise..This book gives the reader a behind the scenes account of all the inner workings of a cruise ship.

Fun book.
Thanks to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free it had no bearing on the rating gave it.

A good tale of life as a Dr aboard a Cruise Liner as it sails from Southampton to Rio in Brazil

It is exactly as I expected, a mixture of exasperating cruisers ( anyone who has been on a cruise knows they are plentiful ) with minor ails right through to life threatening situations, all done with humour when allowed and a good backdrop of the ship, staff, food, day trips and general on board life

Dr Taylor has real compassion and is kind and suffers fools up to a point but that is tested with one particular nurse who is doing all she can to alienate herself

Thrills, spills, rashes, swollen legs and mystery bumps appearing are all in this cheerful mostly happy read

I’ve tried not to go overboard about it 😂 but it is very good
