This was an exceptionally well-written book, with a unique reincarnation plot that had me inwardly gasping.
Destined to find each other and to never survive past eighteen years old, these two souls repeat their twisted pattern over millennia with the same tragic ending. Over and over, with no hope of a life together no matter how much they may wish for it.
The gender-fluidity of their souls was an interesting concept, although it seemed to tend to one pairing more than the other over each life, and the theological comparisons made by the main characters in an attempt to explain ignited a fair bit of curiosity.
Overall, this was both heartbreaking and intriguing, a story that you just cannot put down once started, with an entirely unexpected twist.

I really enjoyed this book, it was heart warming but also sad. I liked the little snippets into the past lives although I would have loved these to be a little longer so we could really get to see how the characters fell in love over and over and delve into their different personalities but I would 100% recommend this book to romance lovers

Our Infinite Fates is a breathtaking novel with the most gorgeous love story sprawled over thousands of years. The love between Evelyn and Arden was addictive to read and shattering each time their lives came to an abrupt end.
I really enjoyed the way the story flitted between the present in Wales and the past in various locations and times, truly showing the depth of their love. I loved that their love for one another had no boundaries and that in every life they found one another, regardless of the tragic reasons for their pull towards the other.
Laura Steven’s writing in this novel is utterly beautiful. The myriad of descriptions, the way the story ebbs and flows and the last chapter had my heart singing. Words cannot summarise how stunning this novel is, if you haven’t read it yet, pick it up and see for yourselves.
Thank you to Penguin Random House UK, Laura Steven and NetGalley for my early review copy in exchange of a fair and honest review.

There are so many fantasy books out there these days that follow similar magic systems and plots. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it… but it does mean that when you find a fantasy book with a wholly unique plot it makes it feel that much more special.
Our Infinite Fates is that. Unique, special, profound. A conversation on morals, a mystery to be unravelled and a whole lot of yearning. A story told in a format that means you’re given snippets of infinite histories whilst you learn the characters in present day.
Our Infinite Fates truly is a masterful piece of romantic storytelling, cleverly formed and intricately woven. Definitely a favourite for me.

Our Infinite Fates is hauntingly beautiful, it's a gorgeous story that will stay with me for a long time.
The writing was poetic without feeling too overwhelming, the story is split between modern day and snippets of Evelyn & Arden's love story across the years. I liked the way it was laid out and the different places and times that were visited, it was a great way of building their relationship and feeling the angst of them being torn apart repeatedly.
Any book I read in a day or has me crying is a five star read for me, and this book had me doing both. The story felt so gripping and I couldn't put it down! The last couple of chapters were wonderful, I didn't see the explanation coming and the final chapter was so sweet.
It's reminiscent of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and Divine Rivals, it has similar themes but felt unique at the same time. If you like those sorts of books then I think this is definitely one to read!

I think this is a book that many many people will absolutely adore! The way it talks about love and what it means to love is so beautiful and this kind of love is something that a lot of people should be reminded of. I also loved the settings and different time periods that the protagonists lived in, each of their lives could get their own book, haha.
The book had a mystery element that makes you keep on reading and the ending was luckily quite surprising! :D
This a book is about love and yearning and passion and history and poetry and really a book for everyone! <3

Beautifully tragic
As vision once said to wanda, what is grief but love persevering
We follow evelyn and arden through their infinite lives in which they have loved and killed each other in everyone.
I feel like I didn’t really get into the story until we were in present day wales and then all the past lives were a fascinating look into history and love and loss across time and history. I really like how their souls were randomly allocated bodies, different genders and races and abilities.
At the core of this book is what does it mean to love and be human. But a sub theme I guess I found interesting is that evelyn does not remember as much as Arden, and how without the memories and knowledge how that impacts their dynamic, relationships and world view. How assumptions can form your belief system which could be based entirely on correct or wrong assumptions. The idea is so human to believe so certainly in our point of view but what if that is wrong?
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review

Our Infinite Fates was a charming and exciting read with an unexpected ending! I could not put the book down and loved my time with it!

I wanted to read this book mostly because it was compares to Addie LaRue and while this is at some point the exact opposite of Addie LaRue, the similarities are there, mostly because of our immortal main character.
This was very addictive and I did not expect that. Our infinite fates is very literary and easy to read simultaneously. The writing is beautiful, evocative, and philosophical. The yearning, the love and the tension were all dripping from the pages, and I loved it.
Evelyn is a lovely character, she isn't very complex, which I liked. She just wants to save her sister. Arden is far more complex, but not too much.
The multiple storylines were interesting and useful. I kept on reading tirelessly because I wanted to know what came next and WHY it was so important for Arden to kill Evelyn.
Obviously, Laura Steven is a skillful writer and I am very grateful for her existence!

I knew from the moment I laid eyes on this book that I would fall deeply, irrevocably in love with its story and characters, so after missing out multiple times on a physical arc, I was absolutely THRILLED to be able to pick up a digital one through Netgalley (Puffin, if you’re reading this and have any left over, I beg you get in touch!!).
Our Infinite Fates follows Arden and Evelyn through their entwined, and numerous, lives. In each life, they are soulmates - fated to fall in love with each other, and yet doomed to die by the other’s hand before age eighteen.
We follow Evelyn’s point of view throughout the book as she remembers fleeting memories from several of her lives and tries to understand why they both must die before they turn eighteen.
In her current life, Evelyn is a Welsh girl named Branwen, and the only stem cell match for her sister Gracie who has leukaemia. The bone marrow retrieval procedure is in a couple of weeks, however, so is her eighteenth birthday. Evelyn (as Branwen) resolves to find Arden in this life and stop him from killing her by any means necessary before she can save her sister. Easy, right? Problem is she’s sure she hasn’t yet encountered him in this lifetime, and he could be anyone her age, and appear at any moment.
I absolutely adored this book. I loved the characters and their development and enjoyed learning about their past lives together – how they found one another and how they came to die at the end of each one. Each past life presented a new world whether that was a new country, or timeline and I was in awe of Laura Steven’s ability to keep each life as detailed and vibrant as the last. I am by no means knowledgeable about any of the times or locations presented to be able to comment on accuracy, but Laura presented each with cultural references, languages and customs to a level that seemed so well researched and accurate enough to make me feel fully transported to each timeline with complete ease.
I enjoyed following each thread (pun totally intended) through the story to learn how a pair of souls so deeply in love with one another could bring themselves to have to murder the other in every life, and the ending was gratifying, if over far too quickly for my liking. There were numerous beautiful quotes that I could have highlighted but my favourite was of course the repeated “I love you, and I have loved you, and I will love you”. How could anything top that?! My heart bled as they died together in every life knowing just how deeply their souls yearned to stay with one another.
Our Infinite Fates is due to release in the UK on the 27th of February 2025 in the YA category, and honestly, I could not recommend it more. If you like fated mates, historical themes, yearning, queer elements (light spoiler – the pair are not always m/f), romance, magical concepts in real world settings, and absolutely deeply beautiful love stories, this one is for you.
There are also multiple gorgeous special editions lined up for Our Infinite Fates and you bet I've got some on preorder!
Thank you to Netgalley, Puffin and Laura Stevens for allowing me to read an early access copy of this book.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of the eBook.
So, I loved the premise of this book and delving into many of their past lives. I think I just wanted more, maybe my expectations were off.
I did really enjoy the story and flew through the book in a couple of sittings! Will definitely need to have a read of another Laura Steven book!
Also, this book just kept reminding me of Every Day by David Levithan. Very different story but was lovely to be reminded of one the books that got me back into reading 10 years ago!

OMGGGG what a book. I absolutely adored this. This is a book that will stay with you after you finish it, and I will definitely be rereading once my preorder arrives! This book gave me the same feeling I had after I read The Time Travellers Wife for the first time - perfection.
It didn't take long at all to get into the swing of all the flashbacks and reincarnations, but I found myself drawn to the current timeline and was desperate to find out who was who and how it was all going to heppen.
And that ending! I did not see if coming and I am so pleased about it. It worked so well, and took me by surprise which I loved.
The love story that is told over centuries is enchanting and gorgeous. It will make you reflect on your own loves and what you would do for them. The intensity of this book will make your heart feel heavy in your chest as you wait for the outcome.
Beautiful book, I wish it was twice as long as it is!

Before we dive into the review, it’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Laura Stevens. Having read most of her work, I’m consistently captivated by how each new book draws me in, blending her signature whimsical charm with a dark, compelling narrative style
From the very first page, Our Infinite Fates completely swept me away. As a big fan of Laura Stevens, I can honestly say this book blew me away—it absolutely lived up to everything I hoped for. It’s a thrilling, emotional, and immersive ride that I couldn’t put down.
What I love about Laura’s writing is her amazing ability to balance tender moments with high-stakes tension. The story feels both whimsical and dark, and I found myself gasping out loud at unexpected twists, unable to stop reading even when I knew I should be doing other things. She has a rare talent for keeping the tension high, pushing you to turn page after page.
The writing itself is just stunning. Each sentence flows so beautifully, creating a vivid and evocative narrative. I found myself pausing to savour lines that really spoke to me. There were so many quotes I wanted to highlight, I could’ve marked the whole book!
The story centres on Evelyn and Arden, two people who’ve met in every lifetime, only to tragically kill each other. The mystery of why this happens, combined with glimpses into their past lives, creates an emotional and satisfying journey. It’s a love story that’s so much more than that, exploring love, loss, time, and identity in a way that will stay with you long after you finish.
If you’re looking for a beautifully tragic, haunting read, I can’t recommend this enough.

Firstly wow, I have not stopped thinking about this book and its characters since I put it down.
Steven weaves a beautiful narrative with care and emotion where as a reader I cannot fail to feel things. It has a little of everything, fantasy, romance, history. I felt so many emotions in this book, anger, sadness, happiness and the ending was both gut wrenching and perfection.
We follow Evelyn and Arden through time as they continually meet, sometimes in love, sometimes not and the narrative is beautiful. The atmosphere and lyricism used by Steven is phenomenal. The way flashbacks are used really helps to see the depth of feeling that the two characters have for each other and takes away from the potential insta-love. These histories are both heartbreaking and beautiful and expertly weaved through the main plot so the pace never slows.
I haven't read any of Stevens other books but I feel I must now pick them up, she has become and auto-buy author from this one book.

This book was so unique and I loved every second of it. I think the execution between the timelines was amazing. It was heartbreaking, and yet hope fulfilled. I’m a sucker for a soulmate story and this was right up my street.
I honestly think this book was executed so well. I also loved the fact that because this was tied to the love of a soul, no matter their form, this also had a very interesting LGBTQ+ angle that worked seamlessly. It also was interesting from a diversity perspective, having the souls reborn at different historical points all over the world - a very interesting and immersive read.
Would definitely recommend!!
Thank you to Laura Steven, Penguin Random House and Net Galley for letting me have an Arc of this book

The ending was everything I needed! The plot twists genuinely surprised me. I loved all the characters. Laura Stevens is a must-read author for me now having had so many hits.
I loved exploring their previous lives. I love the poetic messages about love, souls & what it is to be human.
Would recommend for fans of Every Other Day, One Last Stop or The Invisible Life of Addie Larue.

This is one of the sweetest and most heart-wrenching YA romantasy I've read in a while. 4.5 ⭐️
This book was so beautifully written, and I really felt their love, fear, and heartbreak throughout all their years and lives together. The way their story and relationship slowly unfolded as the story went on gripped me and left me wanting more. I wanted to know more about their past, how they found each other and fell in love, and why they could never live past 18. Their fate seemed so cruel, and this is the biggest mystery throughout the book. Arden knows and remembers everything, but Evelyn never does, and we are given clues and snippets every time we are taken back to crucial moments throughout their past.
This isn't fast-paced, which I realise may be a problem for some people, but considering the journey we go on, I felt the pace was needed to understand them and their relationship better.
The reason I gave this a 4.5⭐️ is because I felt there was something missing from the ending. It was still a shock to find out what actually happened, and it ended beautifully, but I was expecting a longer and possibly more trecherous conclusion.
I would recommend this to people who love
- Fantasy
- Soulmates
- Star-Crossed Lovers
- Found Family
- LGBTQ+
- Alternating Timelines
- Single POV
A huge thank you to the author, Penguin Random House and Netgalley, for allowing me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Our Infinite Fates pulls you in by the heart, it is angsty, heartbreaking and magnificently beautiful. The story keeps engaged, pulling you in over and over again just like our characters.
Their story, the emotions, everything in Our Infinite Fates stays with you and leaves you feeling like you need to get back into it once you finish it to relieve the story of Evelyn and Arden all over again once more.

As soon as I heard this book was inspired by Exile by Taylor Swift, I knew I would fall head over heels and boy, it did not disappoint.
This is my favourite type of story. Timeless, expansive and vast while also intimate, gentle and romantic. Evelyn and Arden’s love spans thousands of years, but so does their heartbreak.
Reading this book is travelling all corners of the globe, being swept through historical events, philosophising life and death and why our human hearts will always choose to keep loving, no matter the cost.
I devoured this book in one day but it will stay with me forever.
I can’t wait to read more from this author

Four and a half
Wow the premise of this might not be completely new but the reason for this couple's curse was a huge surprise. Evelyn remembers past lives although admittedly some details are hazy but she knows without a doubt that Arden will try to kill her before she turns eighteen. That's a huge problem because her sister needs stem cells from Evelyn and she's determined to help her little sister live ! So who is Arden in this life ? A newly arrived cute guy or someone she already knows ?
This was a story that held my interest and surprised me too. Evelyn is such a giving character and the Arden we meet here is pragmatic and determined to do what is right. This is a tale of love and as an unapologetic romantic I loved it. Forget gender and just get swept up in a story that will leave a smile on your face.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
