At this point, whenever I see Sarah Ready’s name on a cover, it’s an automatic yes for me—and Wished just proved once again why. The whole “wake up magically married to your boss” setup could have gone cheesy fast, but instead it’s witty, heartwarming, and full of moments that had me laughing out loud (seriously, my neighbors probably think I’ve lost it).

Anna is such a delightful mess of hope and vulnerability, and Max… well, let’s just say he had me swooning more than once. Their banter? Gold. Their chemistry? Even better. And of course, beneath all the magic and shenanigans, Sarah Ready slips in that emotional depth she always nails—about love, identity, and what really makes a life worth living.

Was it a little over the top at times? Sure. Did I care? Absolutely not. I had way too much fun. If you want a romcom that makes you giggle, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little, Wished is exactly that.

4.25 - I think this as a very strong ending to the series, and possibly my favorite of the 4!

I loved the relationship between Max and Anna, I just wish we had gotten more of Max's perspective, other than the Prologue and Epilogue. It would added a lot to the story. But all in all, very sweet, a little.spicy, and definitely is giving me the itch to travel!

I just really couldn’t get into this one. It’s definitely a magical realism plot where a house cleaner fell in love at first sight with the wealthy owner of the house and later wishes he loved her back. Leaving the impracticality aside, there really wasn’t a reason for either character to love the other. They didn’t really have any chemistry and despite how long it was it felt so rushed. There’s an entire twist and subplot that could have been left out and probably left the book for the better. The narration, however, was great.

I received an audiobook from NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC in exchange for my honest review.

Short and cute. I wasn't a big fan of how quickly Max went from hating Anna to telling her he loves her (within 24 hours) because it felt very insta-lovey, which isn't my favourite trope. Despite the whiplash-inducing personality change, I found Max to be very sweet with Anna. And if you like dirty talking? Oh boy do I have a book recommendation for you! This was a lot more smutty than I expected given the innocent-looking cover.

I did find the plot a little confusing and uncomfortable at times. All the timelines that resulted from the wishing left me feeling confused as to what was actually real. I also felt a little uncomfortable concerning consent since Max wasn't always in on it.

Overall, this was a short and sweet read. Nothing spectacular, but it served as a good pallette cleanser.

Really good. definitely peaked my interest in magic realism romances. This novel was so interesting. I could pretty much picture it playing in my head as I read the book. The audio was really good too. A more detailed review on Goodreads.

It was not memorable.... I don't even remember the character's names and that an indicator of my interest in it.

Sarah Ready never disappoints. This series has captured my heart with such real relationships in such a mystical way. I love seeing max make a return from fionas book, and i really enjoy how he turned from someone not open to love, to the biggest simp in the world. I love these characters and how they find each other. If i had the choice i would read this series again for the first time in a heartbeat.

this audiobook production was really nice, and makes you forget the real world

Thank you to netgalley and the author for sending me the book in exchange for an honest review

A light, fun read with a really original plot—exactly what I needed! The spice was enjoyable and well-balanced. I read this as a standalone, but now I’m definitely interested in going back to read the rest of the series.

This was a fun read, although the romance felt a bit rushed sometimes.
I did like the characters and enjoyed the narrators.

I love Sarah Ready, and the narrators were superb, Who doesn't love a grumpy/sunshine romance with a little twist of fate sprinkled in? She believes in love at first sight, and he doesn't seem to really believe in love at all; but when a wish goes wrong and they end up married out of the blue she has to decide if there's really magic in the air, or if it's all artificial.

This was a fun read, and time flew by while I listened. I'll be back from more from Sarah Ready!

Wished is the fourth book in the Ghosted series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Anna had been cleaning Max’s house for years, and he never really noticed her. He was cold, cruel and really not interested in love. But a wish Anna made changed everything.

This was very insta-love, despite Max not wanting anything to do with a relationship. He was practically forced into it because of Anna’s wish. And from there, his attitude toward her changed.

This was cute, but I didn’t really feel the connection between Max and Anna. Sure, they spent time together during her “wish,” but it wasn’t that much time. And I didn’t get how Max could fall so fast when he had been so cruel before the wish.

I still enjoyed this story and all the magical realism aspects.

Audiobook notes:
Narrated by: Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt
Narration Style: Single with a couple of chapters narrated by Will Watt

The narration was great, and Amanda brought the story to life.

At first I was gonna DNF this one when I was reading the ebook off Netgalley but then found the audiobook and I highly recommend listening to the audiobook as the narrators and the way they read the book makes the book a better experience.

It was an interesting read for me as I don't read "magical" romance much, and the concept of the whole book was a bit unrealistic and absurd to me but that's just my opinion. I have to say, the way the author kept adding plot points made the ending a bit less unpredictable and it had me slightly curious. The pace at which they fell in love and the fact that they even loved each other was also a bit out there for me and didn't make much sense. In my opinion, it was all a bit too unrealistic and I didn't see any chemistry besides physical and those made-up years they had together. Some more depth would have been nice, a good fleshed-out emotional connection and understanding. Not the worst of the worst but also not the best. Reflecting on my experience I just don't think this one is for me.

And another great book by Sarah. I have adored her previous works in this series. And Wished, ugh the narration sustained me. It was a breath of fresh air when all I’ve been reading are dark and gloomy. Sometimes you need a little more light and this book brought just the right amount. That is not to say it didn’t have me feeling all the feels and I LOVED IT. Absolutely adored this series and loved being apart of it’s journey.

Thoughts:
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I didn’t know what to expect going in to this book having never read a Ready book and not much experience with magical realism but this was such a sweet read. Anna is a character I almost instantly loved, putting helping her friends and family and doing what is right first and let's be realistic who wouldn’t make a wish reading that note, even if just for a laugh knowing it won't work. Max took me a little longer to warm to but that’s definitely how he was wrote and as we Anna broke down his walls more I began to like him more too. I have to admit I kind of guessed what would happen after Max’s wish in Paris but that still had a twist to me which is a credit to Ready’s writing that I understood the characters so well after such a short time. The ending was soo sweet and after that epilogue I loved them together and knowing the progress they were making.

This charming, whimsical romance offers a delightful escape into a world where fantasy meets heartfelt longing. Anna Benoit, a romantic at heart and a house cleaner by trade, suddenly finds herself living the life she's only dreamed of—married to the enigmatic Max Barone, the man she’s secretly adored. But as the story unfolds, it gently asks: what happens when your fantasy doesn’t quite match reality?

The magical realism adds a fairy tale shimmer, while the audiobook format beautifully brings Anna’s emotions and journey to life. It's sweet, occasionally poignant, and totally satisfying. Perfect for fans of dreamy love stories with just the right twist of magic. The perfect read if you're in the mood for something light, fun, and a little bit enchanting.

It is official, I will read anything that Sarah Ready writes. I absolutely love her books and haven't met one of her books that I did not enjoy. I have enjoyed and fell in love with every novel in this series and Wished was no different.

It was filled with hope, banter, and love. The enemies to lovers connection was spot on and not in an overly done way. This is usually not my favorite trope but worked so well.

Thank you to NetGalley, Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC and Sarah Ready for my gifted audiobook copy. The narrators were fantastic for this reading and really brought the story to live. You could feel the emotion in every line.

A magical and sweet romance that had me swooning from the start! This is the fourth installment in the Ghosted series that centers around a maid named Anna who works at the mansion that Max owns.

I listened to the audio and thought the format was so fun!
