The premise of this book is completely enchanting and charming. What if you made a wish and it came true?

The characters were just as enjoyable as the premise. There wasn't really anything to dislike about this book! However, it still somehow didn't bring me into it's magic like I thought it would. I can't quite put my finger on what it was.

While it didn't work magic for me, that doesn't take away from the lighthearted and magical book that it is and if you are looking for that, you will get it in this book.

3.5 stars rounded up!

This was a cute and easy read. It's a fluffy, feel-good romance with a touch of magic. I love the cover and the audio narrators were really good. I haven't read the 3 books before this, and I'm not sure I will, but I enjoyed this one.

Wished is the fourth book in Sarah Ready’s Ghosted Series. This time we get to read about Max’s story who we met in the previous book. To be honest I had been feeling a little sorry for his character in how he was treated in that story. So was glad when I saw the fourth book was about him, and I was hoping he would get the happy ending he deserved. This time around the super natural element of the book is based around a wish. As always the book is very well written, you can tell Sarah Ready always puts a lot of research into her story’s as they are so descriptive and spot on with the facts. Another amazing read which I couldn’t put down, such a great story line with lots of depth and emotion to it. Definitely recommend, five well deserved stars.
I had the audio version which was very well read, clear and easy to listen to. It also has different narrators for the male and female parts, which always helps the flow of the story.

This audiobook was enjoyable to listen to and follow along as the story unfolds. Definitely one that I would recommend to others. This was the first novel I have read in this series but I am interested in reading the other books as well.

I have been sitting with this book, trying to decide what I think about it for over a day now. That being said, I did not dislike it.

There were many parts, especially in the first half of the book, that had me laughing and enjoying myself. Without spoiling things, during the 2nd Act of the book I was honestly just confused. I was not positive which character was the cause of where they found themselves. I did love the second chance meet cute. But the end didn't do it for me. It just felt too easy.

As a reader who has read MANY MANY books, I recognize that there is a lid for every pot. Just because this book was not my favorite, does not mean it wouldn't totally vibe with someone else. So, if you love a book with some crazy twist and turns, with some spice, some steam, an MMC who pays attention to who she is, a FMC who was in love from the start, a little bit of the hands at fate in play, and a HEA without any major heartache than this is for you. Wished is a very light, easy read, with a proper Happily Ever After.

I did have the opportunity to listen to an ALC, and would like to review the narration seperately.

I felt like the narration hit kindof like the book did for me. It definitely was not bad. But having had the opportunity to listen to books that have narrators who speak to your soul.......this was definitely not that. The narrator did a good job to speaking clearly, provided some emotion to the story through their voice, but just didn't have it all for me.

Narrators were great. I had not listened to Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt previous and I thought they both did a fabulous job with Wished. I look forward to hearing more from them both!

Wished is the 4th book in the Ghosted series. This has been a great series, in my opinion. This book is a 4.5 rounded up to a 5 star read for me.

The whimsy of believing in wishes is something that has always evaded me, and I think that played a part in my rating of this book. I liked the premise that they were meant to be, even though they came to be super unconventional. Love at first sight is definitely one of my favorite tropes because I fell for my husband very quickly, maybe not at first sight, but close to it.

Thank you for the copy, this is my honest opinion.

Anna has been cleaning Max's house for three years. She kind of fell in love at first sight but does she ever even talk to him? Girl, no. We don't do that here.

One day while cleaning, she finds a gorgeous sapphire necklace in a box on his desk. It has a little note with it that talks about wishing upon it. So what does she wish for? I mean, obviously she wishes she and Max were married and in loooove.

What a shock when she wakes up and they actually are. Especially since Max knows they shouldn't be....

This was such a cute book. It gave me MAD anxiety for a while. I was so nervous about how it was going to end.

Thank you Netgalley and Swift and Lewis Publishing for the ALC!

Forgive me if it's hard to type this review, as I'm still covered in goosebumps after finishing this book! Oh...my...goodness! I've relished every book in Sarah Ready's exceptional Ghosted series, and this one is no exception!

Anna is in love with Max. But he doesn't know she exists. She's been cleaning his home, quietly adoring him, for three years. But one day she makes a wish on the invaluable necklace in his office, and the wish changes EVERYTHING. Suddenly Anna has everything she's ever wanted, namely, Max Barone, as her HUSBAND. Having one's wish granted should be simple, but Anna has found that it's anything but. Now she needs to navigate this new life in which the lines of love and reality blur.

Sarah Ready takes us on another journey, this time Geneva, Paris, and the heart. (Yeah I said it! It's cliche but I don't care! It's just too true!) The tension between Max and Anna was some of the hottest I've read in AGES. I actually had to stop reading after their ridiculously intense love scene. I was like, "I need a minute to regroup!" 🤣 I love how Sarah Ready takes this modern twist on a Cinderella story and makes it extra compelling, with the reader questioning how the story will conclude. We know, since it's romance, that it's going to be a happy ending, but I love not having a CLUE as to how we'll get there. I literally cried. I literally got goosebumps. This book made me FEEL all of the feelings! I love how all of the characters are complex, but have good hearts at their core.

Now I'd like to make a wish...that I could read this book again for the first time! It was THAT good. I had the pleasure of listening to this book, and it was another level of fun! The narrators did a tremendous job performing their parts. Our male narrator began and ended the story to perfection, while our female narrator did the bulk of the work, bringing Anna to life.

Trigger warnings: alcoholic parent (before story begins), abusive father (before story begins), father dying of cancer (before story begins), dysfunctional family dynamics (before story begins)

I would like to start by thanking NetGalley for this ARC audiobook of Sarah Ready's "Wished"

This was book four in Sarah's Ghosted series and I have lucky enough to listen to others in this series, and just like the previous instalments of this series, I loved this book.

There were so many moments where I felt for the characters and just wanted things to work out for them.
Anna and Max were to well fleshed out characters and the moments between them we re very believable.

I cant wait to see more books written in this style by Sarah, if she chooses to expand on this series of standalone stories.

I will definitely recommend this book to family and friends who I think will enjoy this as much as I have.

I have read all the previous books in the series. I still think the first one was my favorite.

In this installment Anna falls in love at first sight with Max, her employer. He doesn't notice her at all.

One day Anna wishes she was married to Max. The next day she wakes up and the marriage is a reality.

I found myself confused at times in what reality they were in at the moment. Once I got used to the story it was easier. I didn't really feel the instant love, more like instant lust.

I listened to the audio versions of the story. The narrators did a great job portraying the characters.

FYI this is not an audio book to listen to out loud if kids are present..

Thanks to netgalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing.

For Anna, love at first sight is for real. She knew it the first time she saw Max Barone. But Anna cleans his house and he's the heir to a jewelry empire. So while she was pining for him and hopelessly in live, he didn't know she existed. Until she made a wish... And woke up married to Max and living in a world where everyone else believed she was married to Max. Now that Anna has what she wished for, is it really what she wants?

"Wished" was an enchanting story with plenty of romance and a little bit of magic. I had not read the previous books in this series, but plan to now that I have read "Wished"!

Thank You to NetGalley, Sarah Ready, and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the advance copy of the audiobook of Wished. This book will be published October 1, 2024 and is part of a series but reads well as a stand-alone book. While there are 2 narrators (Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt), the story is mainly told from Anna’s POV.

This is my first book by this author, and I loved her fun take on the Cinderella wish fulfillment story. I especially liked the little bit of what I though was a Freaky Friday kind of feel for a portion of the story at the beginning. It’s a fun romantic comedy with several very steam scenes, akin to authors like Lucy Score or Tessa Bailey. It hits several tropes – billionaire romance and insta-love.

Things I really liked about the book: the descriptiveness. I felt like I was in France and Switzerland. I could see the chateau and the town. This type of book makes me want to see it turned into a movie or series. It is just so visual.

I have read the whole series. This book just didn't start out as strong for me. I think maybe there wasn't as much interaction between Max and Anna before the "magic" part kicked in. But once we hit the third act (so to speak), I was hit with all the emotions. That's what I was looking for!

The book starts out with Anna working for a maid service and cleaning Max's house. As is so often the case, Anna may as well have been invisible as far as the notice she got from Max. She on the other hand, has been attracted to him for about three years. Then she wakes up and finds that everyone believes that the two of them have been married for seven years. It could be a totally wonderful thing, or it could be very, very bad for Max and Anna. Ready really does hit you with all the emotions toward the end of the book and it made my heart take off.

I switched between the audio and the e-book version of Wished. The narration done by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt was superb. It was a treat to listen to.

Thanks to the author, Swift and Lewis Publishing and NetGalley for the copies of the book. All thoughts are my own.

I've been faithfully following this Ghosted series and was excited to see another installment. Sadly, though, each book turns me off a bit more. Neither Anna nor Max really pulled me in (which was disappointed because I was so excited for Max to finally get his own story!). Their courtship seemed a little to straightforward with them just accepting what happened and where they were going. Even the paranormal element felt a bit old hat this time around.

Sarah Ready is an amazing author, and I don't want to completely put down this book. It was easy listening, the narrator was lovely, and it was well established so that the plot flowed. I guess I was just looking for a little more substance?

Overall: 3 stars (I liked it)

I was so excited to read this book. The idea was so interesting, and I loved the concept. However, I felt a bit let down by the ending because it seemed to rush through everything. I was rooting for a different ending.

I really liked Anna as a character; she was so easily likable. Max was a little harder to connect with at first, but by the end, I found myself rooting for both of them to end up together. Being invested in the characters and their journey is important to me when reading romance books, and I’m glad I got that by the end.

The paranormal elements added a fun twist to the plot, bringing in humor and intrigue. It made the book even more enjoyable, and it was just in general a joy to see how the mix of paranormal and romance unfolded. I also really enjoy Ready's writing style and the narrator.

While the ending wasn't it for me, the characters and the humor of the story kept me entertained. I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I've really enjoyed reading the books in the Ghosted series, however I really struggled to connect with this one. I wasn't a fan of the premise per se and I didn't love the MCs. I don't think the female narrator did it any favors either. I don't know... both the plot and the pacing felt discombobulated. Overall, not my favorite. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC and an ALC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Thank you to NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for the opportunity to read Wished by Sarah Ready Narrated by Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt in exchange for my honest review.

Wished follows Anna, a hopeless romantic who believes in "The One" and love at first sight. She’s been in love with Max Barone, a wealthy jewelry empire owner, even though he doesn’t even know she exists. After making a wish, Anna finds herself in an alternate reality where she and Max have been happily married for years. What follows is a whirlwind romance filled with passion, fantasy, and the fulfillment of Anna’s deepest desires.

While the premise sounds charming and fun, I found the story rushed and lacking in genuine chemistry between Anna and Max. The insta-love trope left little room for tension or meaningful character development. The instant connection between Anna and Max felt forced and unbelievable. The fact that 70% of the story takes place over just one day limits the characters, and the readers, to get to know each other.
Max felt like a cookie-cutter rich character—pining over another woman for the first third of the book. Anna, though sweet, came off as immature. Her actions and reactions felt more YA, which made things cringy when you hit the more adult themes of the story.

That said, the author’s descriptions of Geneva and Paris were beautifully written, revealing a genuine love for architecture and the cities themselves. These vivid settings added some much-needed depth to the story and transported me to these romantic locations. Additionally, the audiobook narrators, Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt, did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life. They significantly improved the reading experience, and without their performance, I may have dnf’d the book.

In the end, Wished is a light, easy read, great for a summer beach day. While I wouldn’t recommend it for readers who prefer more romantic development, fans of quick, dreamy love stories might still find it enjoyable.

“I was wrong. There weren’t two choices in love, one side calm turquoise expanse and the other a tumultuous sea. There are infinite choices in love. It’s a river of light, sparkling in millions of different variations and we get to experience each and every one of them” A wish upon an ancient necklace unfolds a dream come true. But what you wish not always is what you get. Anna and Max’s story is magical, tough, sad and happy, and so much more if they are able to really find their true.
I’ve only listened to Sarah Ready’s books and, the moment you start the story, her words, her imagination envelops you and make you feel all the feelings unraveling. Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt make an excellent job with an amazing story.

Wished is the latest installment of the Ghosted series by Sarah Ready. I very much enjoyed the previous stories and was looking forward to this one but it fell a bit flat for me. Perhaps because I am not a fan of instalove/instalust in a story - I didn't feel connected to the characters. The narrators did a great job and I'd still recommend giving this a read/listen as part of the series.. but it wasn't my favourite! Perhaps the tropes are more suited to other readers.

3.5⭐, 2.75🌶️

Soooo, I have loved the Ghosted Series. Every book is so unique and fun, and as a girl that isn't super into fantasy and magic, these magical realism romances are so fun! Anna and Max were so fun, and entering this book, I loved how chaotic the "magic" plot is for both of the characters. I loved the premise of wishes made, and was excited to see the plot develop and how they would truly fall in love...but alas. The insta lust of this book wasn't for me. And the falling in love plot over and over was odd. I think or me we didnt get to know Anna at all before the magic kicked in, so her already loving Max felt very off. In total, I couldn't fall in love with the love because i blinked and it was there.

I greatly enjoyed the audiobook - Amanda Ronconi and Will Watt were great for the two characters! AND I had 0 cringey listening moments which was great. Overall, maybe this books tropes didn't land FOR ME, but I still enjoyed it, and this series is one I will continue to recommend!

Thank you NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC for an ALC and eARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unpaid review!
