I never believe the sequel to a book is better than the original, but I may think this book may be an exception. Everything about this book was just 10/10. This book was hilarious, heartbreaking and massively thought provoking, especially regarding social media in this day and age.

I absolutely adore Kitty. Yes… she may need some serious therapy but this girl is amazing. In a world of toxic masculinity and misogyny, we all need a Kitty Collins.

Thank you NetGalley & Katy Brent for the ARC x

"Men are just allowed to be angry, aren't they? But not us. Somehow female rage is something we have to suppress"

This book was an absolute rollercoaster from the first page and I'd have not expected anything less. I recently read book 1 and was truly was overwhelmed with the focus of the story and how real the threat was. It was uncomfortable and very intense.

And while book 2 was the same in that light, it had a different feeling to it, it was not as intense with the murder (which I appreciate) but still focused heavily on what it is like to be a woman in this would. Though there is a gap in time, the threat of a man will never leave. Because as quoted in this book "The system isn't broken at all. It's working exactly how it was designed to work, by the men who designed it". While I of course feel very disturbed by Kitty's actions and at times feel extremely floored, I understand why she is doing what she is doing, especially being a woman myself.

In a way, this book had a lighter and more fun side alongside the harrowing details. The undertone of mystery and who was coming after our MC had me on the edge of my seat and thinking like a detective myself. Though I was wrong with all my guesses, I still found myself so caught up within the narrative of this novel that once the reveal was made, all the previous interactions came rushing back into my mind and it all made complete sense.

The urgency our mc was feeling, was reflected within the short chapters of this book. Although sprinkled within were longer chapters, it added to the suspense and had me wishing I could read this book quicker. Another thing I really loved and this is in book 1 too was the chapter titles stating where Kitty is. It is such a lovely touch and I wish more books were like this.

Of course this book is unrealistic but that is the whole point! when you remove this notion from your thoughts, it opens up the story so much more. Because while our females approach is unrealistic, all of the male characters approaches and actions are not. They are very much real and happening constantly.

It is safe to say I enjoyed this book so much more than book 1 and I really hope with the way book 2 ended, we are being set up for another book.

I will say one thing that I do wish this book did have was trigger warnings about some of the things that do get discussed within this book as they are graphic and sensitive and may really impact someone if they read something like this and they can unfortunately relate.

Another one of Katy's books that didn't disappoint. So easy to read, yet still has all the drama, humour, suspense and quality you need.

Kitty is back!! I was so excited to see a sequel to the brilliant "How To Kill Men And Get Away With It" Thank you to HQ for inviting me to read this book and providing a digital copy.

We rejoin Kitty's story a year on from the previous book. She's in a relationship and trying to go sober ... from murdering men. She's even joined a therapy group to try and control her rage. So she is trying soooooo hard but some men just deserve it. Especially men like Blaze Bundy, an influencer spouting misogyny and encouraging violence against women. So what's a girl to do?

I adore Kitty Collins. She's a sassy and fierce, vegan serial killer that you just have to root for. Think a female Dexter in killer heels. Her inner dialogue is razor sharp and darkly humourous. While this is fun read there are some gruesome parts too so not for the faint hearted. I enjoyed the humour and also the fast paced thriller aspects that kept me guessing.

I love Katy Brent's writing style and have my fingers crossed for a third Kitty Collins book.

Such a funny read, had me laughing throughout. Book 2 in Kitty Collins and I will definitely go back and read the first one. She's a great character., I wish I’d read book 1 1st.

This book took me longer to read than expected as after starting I had to buy book 1 and read it first. This was definitely a good move as it gave so much more context than the recaps.

Kitty Collins is a rich woman who has strong beliefs, she is vegan, a feminist and a serial killer with a code. A bit like a female Dexter but more fashionable. She kills bad men as killing women is against her code except in extremis. In this book she has another stalker and despite trying to avoid social media and her previous influencer status she can't help checking what Blaze Bundy is saying about her. She tries to keep on top of her anger and her self imposed ban on murder with coping mechanisms. One is her boyfriend Charlie who is unaware of her dark side and another is joining an angry women group. This concept is fantastic and I would like to attend one sometimes. I am not sure it's that helpful for Kitty though.

The first 50% of the book while although has lots of action is mainly building up to the 2nd half which is even better but I don't want to give any spoilers. I am impressed with her ability to avoid being absolutely drenched in blood and wonder how she is able to get rid of a body worth of blood without detection.

Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins for the ARC.

Excellent sequel to How to kill men and get away with it! Such an enjoyable read with a great pace and plenty of twists, ideal for those of us who love an antihero, I'm always rooting for Kitty even when she makes awful choices. Can't wait for book 3

It was lovely to be back with Kitty, like being with an old friend. I love Brent’s writing style, it is so good to read and hilarious. I loved seeing Kitty on this new adventure and although I preferred the first book, I still enjoyed it. The mystery was fun and had a few twists towards the end. Quite frankly I’ll read anything Brent writes because she is just that good.

I've been looking forward to reading this one, and it was super easy to get back into. I've struggled a bit with getting into everything I've picked up so far this month, so it was so good to just pick up a book and think straight away 'yes this is good'
I'd forgotten some of what happened in book one, but there are little throwbacks that helped me remember, and it was great to be back with the sarcastic and murderous Kitty.
Although I found the first half more slower paced as Kitty fights with her urges to kill, I couldn't put it down once we hit the 50% mark. Things definitely got a bit pacier and, at times, tense.
I love how we get to know Kitty more on a deeper level during this book and how she's fiercely protective of those she loves.
I also loved that it kept me guessing! There were a few things I was right about, but there were also a few parts where I was way off.
As with book one, you have to take it with a pinch of salt, however its a great and entertaining read that I loved.
Book 2 definitely didn't disappoint.

I loved this book.
Kitty Collins isn’t just mad about her own treatment at the hands of men, she is furious at what is happening all the time to women everywhere! And she knows exactly how to deal with them.
Leaving a trail of corpses in her wake Kitty falls off her self imposed “no killing” wagon in spectacular fashion.
A must read!

The title is a winner for a kick-off. Whilst one shouldn’t laugh at or condone murder, it’s rather hard not to when you read the reasons why certain men are murdered by our heroine: they deserve it, plain and simple. As a millionaire’s daughter, one of the Chelsea Ladies Who Lunch, our heroine delivers coups des graces with aplomb, panache and utter ruthlessness, especially in pursuit of justice for her friends and those who are denied such luxury. Nor does she dither or delay – swift and sure, the Sword of Damocles swings into action. Then her own life is threatened by someone who knows what she has done.
Katy Brent’s deft and hilarious handling is tremendous – the dialogue and inner dialogue wicked and wildly dark – with startling 'unexpecteds' and red herrings thrown in with abandon. I loved all the characters, the settings apropos, the lead-in for the next volume artfully delivered.
'Course, I will have to read volume one now.

I can't decide if I liked this book or found it a bit dark.
I didn't realise this book was a sequel, so feel that maybe I would have liked the character more if I got to know her in the first book.
I found Kitty a bit dark with how much she seemed to enjoy the thought of murdering people, but was still interested to read how her story finished.
Even though I'm not 100% sure I liked it, I think it would make a good book club choice at my library and there are PLENTY of themes in there to discuss and debate.

I Bet You’d Look Good In A Coffin by Katy Brent

Wow! Seriously, wow! I truly loved this book, perhaps even more than I enjoyed the first one! This was really thought-provoking as it explored issues which many women would say are a prevalent problem within today's society; Red Pill Culture, misogyny, abusive relationships, rape culture/men’s feelings entitlement to women’s body and many more. I found this incredibly emotional to read as I could really feel the raw emotions expressed by the women within this novel. I loved the Angry Women’s Anonymous Group and thought this a brilliant inclusion - in fact I could do with visiting one of those meetings myself I think! The author had some really powerful moments within this book (far too many for me to mention here), but one stand-out example for me, as someone who works within the criminal justice system, was “there are so many women who justice turns its back on. Closes its eyes and pretends not to see” which is unfortunately so true and really heartbreaking.

Blaze Bundy’s character reminded me of a certain Tate brother (he who shall not be named) and the author did a really good job of calling out the toxic ideology spouted by these types of men (or, incels). She raises an important discussion point about today’s society and the horrific way men view/treat women. She challenges these ideas through Kitty’s POV in a really brilliant way and I was nodding along at every point made. I also appreciated the final speech from “Blaze”, and felt that a lot of men who buy into Red Pill Culture could benefit from taking the advice shown there. Blaze’s online persona also raised for me an important discussion on how social media platforms allow such hatred to be posted without any censorship whatsoever as well as how both the poster and the app itself escape all accountability for the vile things that are uploaded.

As with the first book, I adored Kitty’s character. Although obviously deeply flawed and suffering from multiple traumas that have turned her into what many would call a psychopath, you cannot help as a reader but like her. She is relatable in the sense that a lot of women also carry this deep sense of rage at society within them, but she is also clever, loving and witty (I was laughing out loud at multiple points). I think it really speaks to the author’s talent that she made the readers fall in love with a prolific serial killer and actually managed to make her actions feel justified. The internal struggle within Kitty as she battles to stop herself killing was incredibly well explored by the author and fascinating to follow. The author clearly understands human psychology and absolutely uses this to her advantage throughout this series. I actually liked all of the characters and it was clear they each had their own personalities, voices, thoughts etc and were easily distinguishable from one another. Charlie was one of my favorite characters, and I actually enjoyed trying to figure out Gabriel’s intentions alongside Kitty; I felt this added another layer of mystery and suspense.

I really enjoyed the ending of this book, and found myself actually surprised by the outcome (which, after reading so many mystery books, is unusual these days). The twists and turns were so well thought out and had me hooked right through to the last page. I am hoping due to the somewhat cliff-hanger at the end that Katy Brent will write a third installment into this series and I can guarantee I will be reading it!

I want to add finally that I really appreciated how the author included sex scenes within the novel yet did it in a way that wasn’t overly explicit, as I find this really off–putting in mystery books. It was done in a really tasteful way and was not overdone at all, so I appreciated this a lot!

Overall I rated this book 5 out of 5 stars. I have fallen in love with Katy Brent’s writing as well as her characters and will absolutely pick up any further books she writes. Thank you to Netgalley and Katy Brent for the ARC.

One of my favourite book characters is back! Kitty Collins - the sassy, serial killer who seeks revenge on men who deserve it 🔪

📘 I’d Bet You’d Look Good in a Coffin by Katy Brent
📘Publishing on 30 January

Book 2, that follows on from my 5 🌟 read of book 1 “How to Kill Men and Get Away With It” which i HIGHLY recommend but you kinda also need to read before book 2.

Book 2 Synopsis:
“My name is Kitty Collins and I’m a serial killer.

I don’t want to kill. It’s just so hard to resist. Some men really, really deserve it.

Men like Blaze Bundy, an anonymous influencer spreading misogyny online. He’s making it very hard for me to control my murderous urges.

Meanwhile I’m in the South of France to watch my mother marry a man I’ve never met. I should be drinking cocktails and focusing on my tan, not plotting a murder.

But a woman’s work is never done. Surely one more teensy little kill wouldn’t hurt, would it?“

My thoughts:
- I was so excited to get an advanced copy of this book as i adore Kitty Collins and her antics in book 1 so was excited to see what happened next.
- This book lived up to the vibes of the first one, dark, funny, gruesome and filled with feminist girl power!
- Kitty is the only vegan serial killer i admire 😂
- A gripping read that i flew through
- A must-read for fans of Sweetpea, has much less graphic s*xual content which suits me better!

Here’s to book no.3 with Kitty C, she’s a legend 🙌🏻

Absolutely thrilling! Our favorite vegan, justice-driven anti-heroine is back, and we couldn’t be more excited. Kitty Collins is as captivating as ever—a fiercely loyal soul with a razor-sharp wit and a killer instinct (literally) when it comes to protecting the ones she loves. She’s got impeccable style, a jaw-dropping shoe collection, and she’s now sharing a home with her boyfriend, Charlie. Life should be perfect… but something still feels off.

This sequel dives straight into Kitty Collins’ world, and wow, there’s so much to unravel. First off, let’s address the obvious: I’m out here rooting for a serial killer—and I’m not even sorry about it. Sure, Kitty has her flaws (okay, big ones), but there’s just something about her that makes you want to cheer her on. Honestly, therapy would be a far less chaotic way for her to deal with her anger issues, but let’s face it—that’s just not Kitty.

I absolutely loved this story! Kitty’s sharp humor had me laughing out loud, while Brent’s brilliant writing also brought me to tears 😂 With a perfect mix of wit and emotion, Brent uses Kitty’s journey to spark meaningful conversations about the patriarchy and gender roles in today’s world.

Thank you NetGalley and HQ for the ARC, it is an honour!

A darkly comic story set in a glamorous location. The type of book I like and I did like this. It follows on from 'How To Kill Men and Get Away With It' and we find out whether Kitty does get away with it or not.

REVIEW
cw: misogyny, mentions of SA, DV, cancer, and hate crimes, on-page murders and graphic attempted SA

In the follow-up to 'How to Kill Men and Get Away with It' we catch up with Kitty as she tries to resist her urges to kill bad men. But those urges are tested to their limit when she becomes aware of anonymous influencer Blaze Bundy spreading his misogyny. How long can she ignore who she truly is?

I'm going to keep this review deliberately vague because I'm mindful of spoilers, but once again Katy Brent has crafted an intriguing vigilante story with the acerbically witty Kitty Collins. Please heed the content warnings for this book, as several scenes could be triggering,
Kitty was as darkly hilarious as always, but it was also fascinating to see how she fought her compulsions early on in the story. From the men spoken about in the AWA, to a certain therapist, you could just feel her will not to act dwindling with every single page. I did think some of her observations early on (while totally relatable) descended into diatribes, but given the current climate, I imagine it was quite cathartic writing this character. But Kitty often had THE best one-liners. She could also be absolutely ridiculous, in the best way. I cackled laughing at the name she used to try and get into the studio, and the reaction from the security guard was priceless. As for the aftermath, you could just feel the visceral relief from Kitty. Meanwhile, her list of potential murder modus operandi in chapter 29 made me snort laughing. But it was also interesting to dig deeper into what made Kitty into the woman she became. I found the recollection of her childhood and what prompted her compulsions very moving.
I guessed the identity of Blaze pretty much straight away, but the reveal was well-done, and, the scene with a certain person (no spoilers) in chapter 34 was SO well-written. As for the following chapter, my heart broke for both Kitty and Carmella in different ways. It left me desperately wanting to read Carmella's POV, perhaps in a couple of bonus scenes, pretty please? But even with the knowledge of who it was, it didn't stop me from screaming at the pages on several occasions, as Kitty made terrible decision after terrible decision, usually suffused in alcohol.
But, that's also why I like her as a character so much. She's fallible and makes mistakes, sometimes HUGE ones. One of the things I love most about Katy Brent's writing is that she has crafted this character who is, at turns, almost insufferable in her snobbery, who giddily murders (granted they're almost exclusively seriously terrible people), but who is, deep down, quite broken, vulnerable and oddly lovable. Even at her most diabolical, you can't help but root for her as a woman who's seen some of the worst in humanity. Chapter 42 broke my heart, even though I knew it was inevitable. But the following chapter was bizarrely hilarious, and strangely cathartic in a way I'm still struggling to explain. As for the moment Kitty truly saw herself in the mirror? I was sobbing alongside her. It was heartbreaking. Meanwhile, the wedding was so bittersweet.
We were introduced to a few new supporting characters in this book and I grew to love all of them in different ways. While I can't name them without potentially spoiling things they were amazing.
The penultimate chapter made me fist pump, but also tear up again. As for the ending. I hope it's the start of a new adventure because I'm SO not ready to say goodbye to Kitty just yet.
Another darkly humourous tale.

Overall Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️.5
Heat Rating: 🔥

Kitty is back! Kitty Collins, the absolutely bonkers vegan serial killer of misogynistic men, has returned.

Bet You’d Look Good In a Coffin is a fun, laugh out loud and enjoyable sequel to How To Kill Men and Get Away With It. I love Kitty. Yes, she’s completely unhinged, but her heart is devoutly true to those she loves. Beware any man who tries to harm them! Both books are hilarious and totally addictive.

I hope a 3rd book about Kitty is on its way soon.

Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Having loved Brent’s first two books I knew that this one was also going to be a sharp, witty and entertaining read.

Being back with Kitty Collins was such an unexpected treat. I could happily have read another 300 pages of her getting into trouble. I’d love to be best mates with Kitty (despite her murderous hobby) and I was always rooting for her success.

I thought the main theme here - of how misogynistic, vile men can use online spaces to build cult like followings for their disgusting opinions - was super interesting and definitely brought to mind real life examples of how dangerous that sort of online rhetoric can be.

Did I predict who Blaze Bundy was? Yes. But Katy through in so many twists I was constantly doubting myself.

The vibes were also great - the regular updates on Kitty’s impeccable fashion, paired with a trip to the French Riviera added so much glamour!

An excellent darkly comic thriller with female rage at its heart. I will never get enough of Kitty Collins
