Absolutely loved this book. I was totally drawn in by the title, having not read Katy Brent’s first book in the Kitty Collins series, but I knew from the blurb that it was one I would enjoy, right up my street.

Kitty is your typical anti-heroine. Serial killer by night, witty, sassy girlfriend of Charlie Chambers by day. After being taunted by horrendously misogynistic social media influencer Blaze Bundy she heads to the south of France for her mother’s wedding and gets into all kinds of bother.

In a similar vein to Bella Mackie’s How to Kill Your Family, this book is dark, humorous, thought provoking, emotional at times and totally unputdownable. I’ll definitely be looking out for more to read from Katy Brent.

The premise is excellent and the main character is a perfect embodiment of modern female rage. The book is scarily accurate in its depiction of the abuse women continue to suffer at the hands of men, and society, sometimes hitting slightly too close to home.

The book itself is quite funny in parts, full of action and doesn’t shy away from some gruesome detail. It is, however, very trigger happy on murder and you do have to suspend disbelief somewhat, at how many characters can be involved (and get away with it).

Sadly, the ending felt rushed, a tad unsatisfactory, and contained some sizeable plot holes. It’s also clear the author has a level of hatred for men - which I can get onboard with, but it did ultimately detract from the storyline at times.

I loved How To Kill Men and Get Away With It so I was thrilled to get an approved for an ARC. I always worry the second book in a series won't be quite as good as the first but this was brilliant and I hope we'll get a third installment.

After the events of book one, Kitty has left her old ways in the past and she's been pretty successful, she's happy in all aspects of her life, she's content. But, her new, peaceful life is ruined when a certain online presence appears on her Instagram feed and he's just determined to get on her wrong side.

It's difficult to say too much about book two because I really don't want to ruin book one because that was equally brilliant.

Kitty is a brilliant protagonist, she's funny, witty and despite her being a serial killer, she just wants women to be safe and feel safe.

Katy Brent is one of my auto-buy authors. I also loved The Murder After The Night Before and I'll read anything she writes.

The second Katy Brent book I have read and like the first a quick and fun read. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to ARC this .

Extremely, fun, adult satire. Kitty Collins is back. What a joy for you and me. Not so much for the misogynistic that she, and her friend meet. Because although she has tried very hard to stay on the straight and narrow, putting things right by killing them just feels so good. But it would seem things are never quite as straight forward and simple as she might wish. Again, fun for you and me as her troubles and the deaths mount up. I hope there are more Kitty Collins books to come, the two so far have been killers (pun intended.) Thank you to HQ and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

Kitty Collins is back.

After telling herself there will be no more murder, and to enjoy her new happy life, Kitty is still trying to control her anger about the misogyny and threatening men in this world.
When Blaze Bundy, a new influencer, is spreading dangerous and misogynistic content online, with a following full of men. Would one more kill hurt?
Kitty is invited to her mother’s wedding in France, an event that should be happy, but Kitty has murder on the mind.

I really enjoyed this book and struggled to put it down reading way in to the night. I haven’t long finished the first book, but this book goes over the details so it doesn’t matter if you’ve forgotten bits or haven’t read it. (Although I would recommend reading the first one as it’s just as good, and you got to see the start of Kitty). Kitty is a flawed character but you can’t help but root for her. It raises some moral questions. It really makes you think how difficult it can be to be a woman in a misogynistic culture, and how relatable some of these characters are. The blaze bundy character is similar to some influencers you see online. And you really feel the anger of some of the woman and the dangers they’ve faced, which unfortunately happen all the time. But you also see women empowerment, friendships and family bonds. This book has deep meanings but also a fun side to it which makes it easy to get through, it keeps you guessing and I am really hoping there is a third!!

Kitty Collins is back. Book #2 and it didn’t disappoint. A dark, funny, witty, clever twisted read. I loved it!
It’s entertaining, fun and easy to read and I was hooked from the first few chapters . I couldn’t put it down.
I love the storyline and the relatable characters. Kitty is a brilliant FMC. You can’t help but root for her. She is so funny and a fascinating character.
An engrossing addictive fast paced story. Definitely recommend this one if you enjoy this genre. It’s well worth the read.
I look forward to the next instalment @but_katy_did_it

Absolutely loved this story and following Kitty on her journey of trying not to be a serial killer! This has its funny moments as well as its emotional journey through the trials and tribulations of friendship, partners and family.

I was so happy to have the opportunity to read this before its release - The sequel to How To Kill Men And Get Away With It

The main character Kitty is one of my favourite characters from a book, she’s iconic!

This read has everything: good amount of crime, dark humour, drama, sass, emotion, a full & bursting story line, well written characters, the list goes on & on. This book pulled me in straight from page 1 and I looked forward to any opportunity to pick it up.

I absolutely loved the first book, and this follow up is just as good, maybe even better!

If you’ve not read how to kill men and get away with it, start it now and you should be finished before the month end and you can treat yourself to book two when it’s released.

The last thing I will say, there better be a third book in the works, I NEED MORE!

Absolutely loved this! I was so invested in the story and loved all the plot twists. Kitty is such an interesting character and I found myself rooting for her throughout the book. I wasn’t aware that this was part of a series, so I look forward to reading the other books!

Thank you NetGalley for the early copy!

A murderously good read!

Thank you NetGalley and HQ Digital for access to this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was another great read from Katy Brent. I would never have imagined we would be routing for a serial killer!

Kitty Collins is settled in life with her boyfriend, but the temptation to kill hasn’t gone away and the reasons for it. Kitty is obsessed with following a misogynous influencer by the name, Blaze Bundy. She has no idea who they are or why they are spreading such content, but then bodies turn up nearby and messages are sent to her inbox. Before long Kitty realises they knows who she is, but she does not have the luxury of knowing who they are.

Kitty starts to struggle with her addiction and needs a quick fix, however, she does not imagine events to turn out the way that they do. She also has to attend her Mother’s wedding in France, and finds life quick spiralling out of her control.

This was an excellent read, with acerbic humour and a storyline to keep us guessing throughout. Katy Brent approaches some serious topics in this book, but does so in a very clever way as to highlight awareness, rather than delve too deeply.

My only criticism would be a slightly unbelievable ending, however, if not taken too seriously, you will enjoy as much as I did. I genuinely love following Kitty Collins, and hope for a number three in the series. Really well recommended.

We’re back with our murderous heroin, Kitty Collins, who’s on the road to recovery from her favorite pastime.. murder. Following up on our first encounter with Kitty Collins in ‘How to Kill Men and Get Away With It’, this book continues her escapades, where she punishes men she believes deserve it after committing crimes against women. The character development is great, and it was lovely to see more of Kitty’s mom in this book. The writing style is so compelling that you won’t even feel bad for Kitty’s victims. Katy Brent skillfully portrays the despair many women endure when attempting to seek justice for crimes perpetrated by misogynistic men in a system that inherently disadvantages them.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it. If you enjoy female rage portrayed in a vigilante manner, this is a must-

I Bet You’d Look Good in a Coffin is a sharp, darkly comedic thriller that blends biting humour with a chilling narrative.

Brent’s writing is punchy and engaging, weaving satire into a suspenseful plot. The book deftly critiques influencer culture, gender dynamics, and societal hypocrisies without losing its gripping pace. Kitty's morally complex character keeps readers guessing—simultaneously rooting for her and questioning her actions.

While some moments lean heavily on exaggerated humor, they add to the book's over-the-top charm. Fans of Killing Eve or How to Kill Your Family will appreciate the mix of wit, darkness, and intrigue.

Overall, I Bet You’d Look Good in a Coffin is a thrilling and refreshingly subversive read, perfect for anyone who enjoys their crime fiction with a splash of sardonic humor.

🖊 Kitty Collins is back, but she's sworn of killing men. She's in therapy, and she's enjoying life with her perfect boyfriend. But things get complicated because Kitty is being harassed by an anonymous influencer who is spreading misogynistic hate online. His name is Blaze Bundy. Kitty is also dealing with her mother marrying a man that Kitty has never met. Maybe one more kill wouldn't hurt...

💭 I always have such a fun time reading books by this author. Kitty is definitely a very interesting character who is trying to stop and change her ways. I enjoyed this book, and the plot was engaging. It was fun to see Kitty go to France and the events that happen whilst she's there.

The story flowed well, and it was fast-paced. It didn't take me long at all to read because I just really wanted to know what happened. You end up being suspicious of absolutely everyone, mostly because that's what Kitty is like. The writing, the plot, and the pacing all contribute, making this a book you don't want to put down because you just need to know what happens next. I think the author did well at creating a plot that is different from what happened in the first book because when I finished that, I wasn't sure what would happen next.

Kitty's mother and her relationship with Kitty are also interesting to read about. The book has various twists and turns, some that are more surprising than others. There is a great mix of dark humour and mystery. Kitty is an unreliable narrator, but if you choose to pick up this book, I think you'll really enjoy reading about what she gets up to. If you're looking for a dark comedy with a fast-paced plot, then I recommend this book. Please check warnings online for this book before you read it.

Thank you to Katy Brent and HarperCollins for the e-ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

"The family that slays together stays together"

I haven't read the first book in this series so wasn't sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed this book and could follow it easily despite not reading book 1. Kitty is hilarious as our FMC, even through all of her trauma and the heartbreak surrounding her, her dark humour and bluntness made the story light-hearted whilst serious and informative.

📚 Book Review 📚

Well, the Boss babe in her Manolo Blahnik’s is back and she is just as feisty as before!

Kitty Collins returns to us a year after we left her, now with a penchant for penitence and self help groups. She is happy, very happy in fact, with the gorgeous Charlie and loving a peaceful life in London. She is desperately working on her murderous addiction and things seem to be ticking along nicely. It’s just that little, annoying things keep getting in the way… like a disgusting, mysogonistic troll named Blaze Bundy, an inappropriate love interest for one of her nearest and dearest, an unexpected wedding invitation involving a suspected gold digger and a girl after her boyfriend. You know, just those little things that can drive us mad but can drive Kitty Collins to murder…

This is another Katy Brent artwork; full of pace, action, gore, emotion, macabre thoughts and Sancerre. I ate this sequel up and loved it. There are twists and turns, reveals and cliff hangers.

Do I think that Kitty is a psychotic nutter with a murderous addiction?
Definitely.
Do I think that she is loveable, kind and the best friend to have in a crisis?
Absobloodylutely!
Do I hope there is a third instalment in the pipeline?
You bethcha!

Dexter in minolos is back girls and she’s having a ball!

I loved this book! I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was so excited to read this next book. I really enjoyed the dark humour, and the twists, and can’t wait to read the next book from this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ Digital/Harper Collins for giving me access to an advance copy of this book.

I actually ended up reading this before reading How to Kill Men and Get Away With It, however, because I loved the writing style so much and despite what I assume are references to the first book in the Kitty Collins series, I would happily go and read the first book too.

I read The Murder After The Night Before last year and felt that it fell a bit flat and could have done more to truly cement the awful nature of misogyny and VAWG. I feel like I Bet You’d Look Good in a Coffin fills in the gaps I felt whilst reading Murder After the Night Before. I felt like the hopelessness of so many women when it comes to receiving justice for crimes committed at the hands of misogynistic men in a system built against them was captured well.

Having said this, I feel like the story dragged ever so slightly towards some of the later chapters. The plot twists, however, kept coming which again, was something I had missed in Murder After the Night Before.

Overall I did really enjoy reading this book but would advise to check trigger warnings before reading!

This book is the second in the Kitty Collins series. I loved the first book so much, and I love this one maybe more?

Kitty is, as ever, angry and murderous though she has tried to change her ways. It was great to bring in a new member of the family this time, and I absolutely adore her mum - who thought?!!

This did have my heart in my throat a good few times compared to the last book to the point I was annoyed that I had to go out straight from work socialising when I was at a crucial point - wondering what was going to happen as I walked to a restaurant. Usually I can “switch off” but not this time. I was worried!

An absolutely fantastic second book. Can we hurry up with a third please? It can’t end like this?

My thanks to Netgalley and HQ for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wow what an emotional rollercoaster that was! I read the authors first book how to kill men and get away with it, which I absolutely loved. But this book showed a really different side to the beautiful man killer Kitty Collins. At the start of the book we see Kitty retired from murder, trying to live a “good” life with her boyfriend Charlie.. she begins attending an angry women’s help group, but how long will she be able to stay on the straight and narrow? I always thought of kitty as an anti hero but I really loved seeing her softer side in this book and you can’t help but to love her. I really enjoyed seeing her vulnerability in the relationship with her Mum. Following them rebuilding their relationship was just gorgeous. This book kept me in the edge of my seat Kitty goes from one crisis to the next, some of them were jaw dropping! I loved this book to much I went straight out to buy The murder after the night before. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me an advanced copy of this book.
