Fantastic tale of 10 strangers being called to visit soldier island, where one by one the not so innocent individuals meet their end. With noone else on the island, one of them must be the murderer. The tension, the twists and all the while the clues are there. A thoroughly enjoyable read. All the more satisfying with that final chapter!

Can you ever beat an old fashioned, well written, whodunnit?!!
I absolutely loved this print of Agatha Christie's -And Then There Were None.

10 people on an island - all accused of murder but one by one, the murderers start to be murdered. And the classic question is.....whodunnit????

This limited edition doesn't contain the last chapter. I had to submit my thoughts on it before I could download the confession. (Kindle edition)

Absolutely loved it....and no...I didn't get it right!!!

I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this version of a classic book. I am ashamed to say that this is the first Agatha Christie I have read, but it certainly won't be the last. I love the fact that with this edition when you reach the end the last chapter is missing and you have to say who you think did it before receiving the last chapter.

A classic Agatha Christie ‘who dunnit’. Although written in 1930s this has stood the test of time so well.

A group of people of differing ages and backgrounds have been invited to an island just off the Devon coast. As they begin their weekly retreat a recoding is played accusing them all of murder. A poem is in every room explains how a group of ten individuals all die and one by one this starts to happen.

Brilliant read and highly recommended.

A fabulous story that is so fast paced it will leave you light headed. I whizzed through this book as I was swept away to Soldier Island to witness the deaths of the guests. The final chapter brought everything together. Such a clever book.

This is a traditional murder mystery novel where characters are dying whilst you’re desperately try to work out who did it. Just when you think you may have worked it out… then that character dies and you’re back to square one 🤭 Or at least for me… I must admit that this isn’t my usual genre, and I did find the old languange hard to get into at first, but once I immersed myself, it was a very quick read.

If you’re going to review this, you have to take into consideration the age of the book, and despite being originally written in 1939, it has stood the test of time! The only thing that does bother me, is the issue with the title and the occasional derogatory comments. Also, the characters felt a little flat to me, but I think that’s because I’m used to modern crime reads which are written very differently.

The epilogue sums up neatly what actually happened which is both satisfying and slightly annoying. Satisfying because it neatly answers all the questions - who did it, how, why, but frustrating in that I’m used to crime writers gradually drip feeding these answers through “show me, not tell me” aspects. I think if you like murder mystery dinner parties, this would be a good book for you.

Perhaps this one is just not for me? I don’t think there is anything wrong with it, just personal taste.

I’ve tried to give a honest and fair review. Thank you to @netgalley for the arc.

I loved this. Except waiting for the last chapter 😂
The premise is clever. Read a whodunnit by the fabulous Agatha Christie. Then you guess whodunnit and send it to the publishers who send you the last chapter and you get to see if you were right….its a tricky one too!
All I can say it is clever and I was wrong! Good luck!

For some reason, it has completely disappeared from my library. I have just re-downloaded it, so I will read it soon. Sorry about that, don’t know where it’s gone 🙄

Ten people are invited to Soldier Island under false pretences. Accused of committing various crimes, they are then killed of one by one...

Interestingly enough, we were discussing this book at a recent editors' conference I attended, as its original title, the name of the island, and the recurring nursery rhyme central to the plot initially contained what is now a racist slur. It was then amended to what would still be considered a racist term today before "soldier" was finally settled on as the preferred alternative in 1985.

This fantastic classic from Agatha Christie has been brought to life in a new edition where the reader is invited to guess the murderer's identity before discovering the final chapter and its reveal in a sealed envelope at the back of the book. I read the digital version, where the reader is asked to vote on the identity of the murder online before receiving a link to download the final chapter.

A recommended read for fans of Agatha Christie, Lucy Foley's The Guest List, and suspenseful murder mysteries.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins UK for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was torn between awarding 4 or 5⭐️ but opted for the four because I now judge all books by one that has become my all time favourite and has definitely raised the bar, not fair to name it in this review.
This is a classic, who doesn’t love Agatha Christie?! I’d read this more years ago than I care to recall, also seen a tv adaptation some time ago, but didn’t remember the precise details and thoroughly enjoyed rereading this wonderful whodunnit. Obviously it is of a different age and simply couldn’t be set in today’s world with mobile phones and internet but there is something to be said for stepping back to a time when the world was a totally different place and life was lived very differently. An escape read for those of us who enjoy thrills and murder!
I love the concept of the reissued hardback containing the final chapter sealed in an envelope at the back, what a delightful gift this would be for someone who prefers to actually own and hold a real book.
There is simply no need to give away any of the details in the book, if you enjoy thrillers and whodunnits you will enjoy this. There are clues and the odd red herring so you will be kept guessing.
I thoroughly recommend and sincerely thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read again the work of a fantastic author.

I am a huge Agatha Christie’s fan, but I haven’t read any of her books in a long time. This is one of her most known books but I have to confess that even though I had read this before I couldn’t remember who the murdered was and managed to get it wrong!
A very fast paced story that will keep you guessing! Just make sure you read it before the 31st october or you won’t be able to download the ending!
Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins for letting me review this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

And Then There Were None: The Ultimate Mystery Edition
by Agatha Christie
Published date - 10 October 2024

It has been a couple of decades since I first read this book and I was interested in revisiting the story and plot. This edition has a modern feel to the ending which requires you to use the QR code at the end of the book to find out the killer.

I enjoyed the writing style which I found ‘old fashioned’. The novel is set on an island mansion near the Devon coast, where ten strangers are lured to the island where they find their hosts are mysteriously absent. Then each of the strangers are accused of a terrible crime. The book was first published in 1939 and I liked the vocabulary, (some words I required a dictionary!) The novel is full of atmosphere, suspense and super characters. I read the book in one day. The plot and storyline will be known to bookworms but an adventure for first time readers.

I give a 4 star rating and would recommend this novel.

THANK YOU TO NETGALLEY AND HARPERCOLLINS FOR THE ADVANCED READING COPY OF THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

I haven’t read an Agatha Christie for a long time but, having read this, it won’t be long before I do so again. I raced through this novel in one day.
The story moved along at a terrific pace and I love the way there are no wasted words, I didn’t guess who had committed the murders but after it had been revealed it made complete sense.

I loved this book. A classic whodunnit that is seemingly impossible to solve. Ten strangers gather on soldier island, seemingly invited by their host who is nowhere to be found. What do the guests have in common, a seemingly wicked past and a secret that will seal their fate as each one has been marked for murder. A nursery rhyme has been hung on each bedroom wall, telling of the demise of ten little soldiers. As the guests begin to die one by one, the remainders realise the deaths are following the poem and panic ensues. A famous novel that is completely addictive and will keep you guessing to the end. Thank you to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, Harper Fiction and the author for the chance to review.

I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie and this is one of my favourite books. An offer of money and free accommodation is too good to resist, hence the guests are drawn to an isolated island where we are then drawn into an excellent who done it with loads of twists and turns, definitely Agatha at her best. Huge thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this early copy

I really enjoyed the gentle pace and the intrigue surrounding this locked room mystery. Unfortunately my guess at the murderer was incorrect but was still a great experience.

Brilliant! There seem to be several different endings to this story. This, as far as I remember, is Christie’s original solution. Never understood why it was altered for other formats. A lovely edition to have in your library. One can never have too much ‘Agatha’ in my opinion and steer clear of any of the updated modern editions.

And then there were none!
This is my first foray into Agatha Christie's work, and I have to admit I took some convincing at first. There are ten protagonists, and the narrative is formed by switching between them constantly, their stream of thoughts conveyed almost conversationally. At first I found this a little irritating, but as their characters became clear and the numbers dwindled I found myself gripped.
This is a short, quick read, just over 3 hours on kindle, and the mystery was interesting enough to ensure I didn't put the book down!
This new edition involves a QR code before the last chapter for you to scan, submit your guess for who the murderer is and then receive the last chapter. I actually loved this little bit of interactivity. I guessed correctly, but I wouldn't say it was predictable.
I would definitely read more in this vein, especially with the interactive element of working out the murderer yourself.

I've always enjoyed reading Agatha Christie's books and this was no exception. An isolated island and guests enticed there with the offer of free accommodation and money. An excellent twisty turny thriller that grabs you from the start, the Queen of Crime still has her crown

I read this book so fast and absolutely loved it, I didn't get the murderer right but when I received the last chapter and read it it all made sense. Was a great murder mystery book. Really enjoyed reading it.
