Such a cute romcom! It read so smoothly and had me smiling the whole way through. I really enjoyed the story and characters—perfect if you want something light, sweet, and feel-good.

Thank you to netgalley for the advanced reader copy of this book. This was a great romance read. Loved the writing style.

Booked for Summer is Kathryn Freeman's latest romcom and it is filled with romance and books. A book with books in it is always going to pique my interest and I enjoyed my virtual trip to Nantucket Island.
I loved the main characters of Jade and Liam, although not at first I have to say. Jade's enthusiasm for running the bookshop is infectious so it's no wonder that she quickly makes friends as soon as she sets foot in Nantucket. After a misunderstanding at the ferry crossing, Jade meets Liam and their attraction to each other is plain to see. Of course, they both have their own hangups and neither of them are looking for anything long term...
The wonderfully drawn colourful characters pull this story along perfectly as well as the plot to close the bookshop. What??? Close the bookshop? I thought Kathryn Freeman wrote romcoms not horror stories! I just loved how the whole community came together to fight for a common cause, which also happened to be them all ganging up on Liam as he owns the resort. I really felt for him as there's a good reason why he wants make his resort the most exclusive on the island but he is a little blinkered because of it.
Flirty, charming and fun, Booked for Summer is an entertaining and enjoyable book that transports the reader across the Atlantic to the picturesque island of Nantucket. It's a fabulous summer read.
I received a digital ARC to read and review for the blog tour and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Enemies to lovers. Miscommunication. Billionaire (almost). A lot of tropes going on in this book!
A light hearted, fun read. Overall a good time but did seem to drag a bit at the end.

Fun, romantic, and full of holiday vibes 🌴💖. Booked for Summer is a charming, beachy escape packed with humour, sizzling chemistry, and heartfelt moments. Kathryn Freeman delivers loveable characters, witty banter, and a dreamy setting that makes you want to pack your bags. I adored the slow-burn romance and uplifting storyline. Perfect for fans of feel-good, sun-soaked rom-coms.

This was such a charming, feel-good read! Jade Taylor’s passion for books and her determination to save the Little Bay Book Shack from being swallowed up by Liam Haven’s resort made for a classic but lovely setup. Liam is your typical billionaire boss, but with a surprising soft spot for contracts—and maybe for Jade too.
I really enjoyed the island setting—it gave the story a warm, summery vibe that made me want to pack my bags and visit Nantucket myself. The romance between Jade and Liam was sweet and slow-burning, with just enough tension and banter to keep things fun and engaging.
The plot was straightforward but satisfying, with themes about fighting for what you love and finding your own happily ever after. If you love romances with bookshops, beachy settings, and a dash of billionaire charm, this one’s a solid pick!
Thank you to Netgalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I loved this Nantucket romance! I thought the growth and honesty about our hopes and fears was refreshing. Liam and Jades chemistry was offf the charts and was perfectly balanced with an actual relationship. I am very excited to read more from this author!

Thank you to One More Chapter and NetGalley for the ARC of this novel. This was pretty cute and a fast read although there was almost too much sexy time for me, I also understand that Jade is known for her blonde hair and large "assets" but it became distracting to continue to focus so much on this, Yes, she is underestimated because of her appearance but I think I got it the first 5 times you mentioned it and did not require the next 345 mentions. Overall it was still enjoyable but I started skimming over the spicy bits so I could get to the actual story. 3.25 stars.

3.25 rounded up because I am VERY generous. Things I liked about this book: Nantucket, books, and the side characters. Things that were okay but kind of weird: the "maybe developers who tear down historic buildings need our pity and have more taste than you weirdos with your old gross buildings" plot (and I am by no means a rabid historic preservationist). Things that were just sort of boring but also eye-rolly: both main characters' CONSTANT need for reassurance from pretty much everyone around them. I GET IT, you're super hot but that means that sometimes people underestimate you and think you're dumb. I do really continue to like British main characters.
I received a free ARC from NetGalley.

I loved the setting of this book- Nantucket! Such a perfect beach spot. If you're looking for a light, summer read, then grab this one. I liked Jade instantly. She was funny and relatable. And then there's Liam- he got under my skin instantly. However, as the story developed, I began to understand his many layers and learned to appreciate his broody charm. Now let's skip to the chemistry between these two- WOW. It was electric. Tension, banter, giggling moments. I was invested as their relationship kept evolving. I thought that the ending really brought everything together beautifully.

I was so excited for this book, but I did not enjoy it, unfortunately. The writing style and the events of the book just weren’t for me.

Disappointed with this one, the description really reeled me in but it just was not what I expected. I have a lot of issues with the MMC. Just toxic to be honest. I feel like he relied on Jade to ‘bring about the change’ but like anyone knows it has to be you yourself who does that change. Don’t like the ‘she can can fix him’ trope. Just didn’t really vibe with it, don’t really think he would be good enough for her, she would just be as traumatised in the end!

Thanks to NetGalley, Harper Collins UK, and the author for the chance to read this book.
This story was quick and easy to read - a perfect holiday read that doesn't require heavy thinking. Jade and Liam have an instant attraction and a heap of complications between them.

Jade Taylor takes a summer job of managing the book shop on Nantucket Island, basically her dream job as a book lover. But then the last person who should run a bookshop becomes her boss. A man that doesn't understand reading for pleasure and is all about the bottom line. Can Jade save the bookshop and make Liam believe in happily ever after?
This was a light summer beach read. While the characters had an almost instant connection, I felt that emotionally, Liam had some major childhood trauma to work through. Instead of leaning on Jade so much, he needs therapy, lol. But overall I did like this cute beach read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The chemistry between Jade and Liam was electric — full of tension, banter, and moments that had me flipping pages as fast as I could. I loved how their relationship kept evolving, making me genuinely invested in where they would end up.

Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me. I’ve enjoyed many of the authors previous books but I just couldn’t get into this one. I’m sure it’s a great read for others so please don’t be put off that it wasn’t suited to me.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a cute, fun book. I enjoyed reading this book a lot!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't like it at all. The writing was cringe and the main female character was an idiot. And not a cute fish out of water the author thought was writing - the female character was dumb. Super naive and cringe and messy and just an idiot with no observational skills. Instead of bubbly girl the author tried to write, we got a stupid blonde who didn't know right from left. I couldn't connect with her at all and I disliked her since page one, And she didn't get better.

I didn't really connect with this book as much as I have with some of Kathryn Freeman's other books.
I didn't really like Liam or Jade as characters and I really didn't like the fact that Jade was continuously described as being blonde with big tits, even though she wants to be seen as more than a "dumb blonde." If you want to portray her as something more than what people see as a stereotypical blonde then maybe don't constantly describe her that way.
As for Liam, he was incredibly childish. I get that he was hurt as a kid and those scars can hang around but to spend more than a decade trying to prove yourself better than some rich, snobby kids that bullied you just seems a bit much. And as Jade rightfully pointed out, he was turning into one of the very people he despised, all because he couldn't let go of the need for revenge.
Thankfully at the end he does seem to be using his money and power for the benefit of the Nantucket islanders rather than being in a pissing contest with the rich kids.
The chemistry between Jade and Liam was lacking and normally I don't mind a book that gets straight into the spicy stuff, this just felt forced and it didn't really sit well with me. I think had it been a drunken mistake or they met in a bar on a night out rather than coming across each other in a quiet beach bar and declaring how much they wanted to have sex, it maybe would have worked better.
And I really couldn't stand the constant use of the word "um."
That said, I did feel like Liam actually grew as a character and he became more likeable by the end of the story. He was at least trying to better himself after recognising his behaviour. But I think my favourite character was Jeremy, he was funny, didn't stand for anyone's bullshit and showed Jade and Liam what a real friend is.
Thanks to NetGalley and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This is my 3rd Katheryn Freeman book and it did not disappoint! Delivering the picturesque Nantucket summer vibe, bookish feels, and punchy banter between the MFC and MMC.
Jade Taylor is over the moon excited at the chance to manage a bookshop on her own for the summer. The Little Bay Book Shack also happens to be located on the beautiful Nantucket Island. Unfortunately, shortly after arriving she finds herself the employee of Liam Haven. Liam is a billionaire and owner of the large resort located just down the way from the bookshop who has taken over ownership of the wharf where it's located.
This romance brings all the feels, from the illusive brooding billionaire, to the sunshiny bookshop manager, and the menagerie of small town characters sprinkled throughout. I was hooked from their clandestine meeting at the beginning, crying at the tenderness between Liam and is beloved grandmother, and cheering for Jade, and cheering alongside Jeremy (an interim manager at the resort) as his relationship grows with both leads, helping them each in different ways to find their path through their tenuous relationship.
