This book was such a cute read. Jude was so relatable and down to earth. And Liam is just the brooding hero I love in romance novels. In recent years, I have been loving reading books with a small town vibe and this book definitely did not disappoint.

The book started out great! I really liked jade and Liam was a nice love interest. Sadly i found Liam to be a bit too much of an asshole sometimes in his way of talking to the other employees and Jade, and i sadly got stuck in the book about 70% in. While it was fun to read in the beginning, and i had very high hopes for it, it just didn't deliver fully what i expected.

Booked for Summer is a warm and breezy escape, perfect for readers who love a seaside setting, a charming bookshop and a grumpy meets sunshine romance. Jade Taylor is a passionate book lover determined to protect The Little Bay Book Shack, while Liam Haven is the billionaire businessman with no interest in books or fairy tales.
Their dynamic is full of tension, humour and heart. Watching Jade slowly chip away at Liam's scepticism was both satisfying and sweet. The backdrop of Nantucket Island added to the summery feel and made the bookshop setting even more magical.
I thought this was a light summer read with a touch of heart and just enough drama to keep me turning the pages

Set in Nantucket, this small-town romance has addictive chemistry and immersive emotion. Jade loves books and feels she needs to reassess her life plan. The opportunity to manage a bookshop gives her the space she needs, away from England and her family's expectations. Liam is driven and successful and about to achieve the vengeance he craves. The couple's serendipitous meeting changes their self-perception and the course of their emotional lives. I enjoyed the couple's immediate attraction, the self-denial and the emotional growth that trusting each other brings. I like the small-town island setting and the diverse cast of characters. It's a romantic story full of heartbreak and indecision, but ultimately satisfying for the couple and the reader.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Thank you to One More Chapter for the review copy. The premise of this book was promising, but unfortunately, the execution didn’t quite live up to it for me. While I liked Lucy and Liam as main characters, their relationship felt rushed, overly focused on the physical, and weighed down by miscommunication and emotional instability. I wanted to feel more connected to both the characters and the plot, but in the end, it just didn’t quite land.

The chemistry between Jade and Liam is off the charts. It is so sizzling and this is one incredibly spicy (to use the current word for it) book!
The sex scenes are incredibly hot, as is a fair amount of the dialogue, which are both things that this author always excels at.
And the Nantucket bookshop setting is sublime. I love the sound of the area, and could really picture it.
I loved seeing the character development over the course of this novel and especially seeing Jade grow in confidence.
And for Liam to start realising a lot about himself too. I loved Liam's grandma too, as well as a lot of the locals in the area.
I devoured this book and I needed a cold shower after I had finished it. It's everything I hoped it would be and more. Another winner for me from Kathryn Freeman.
Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

As is usual when it comes to authors whom I love reading, I didn’t pay much attention to the synopsis with this one, so I was surprised to discover that this was a spicy read. It was a pleasant surprise and very welcome, as I read it before the weather became milder.
When we first meet Jade Taylor, it is soon apparent that she is often judged by her looks and not by her brains. I must confess that I also initially pigeonholed her as a blonde airhead. That was a huge mistake. It didn’t take long to realise that she was a smart cookie who simply happened to look great.
Eager to be taken seriously, Jade had taken a 3-month career break to work in a bookshop on Nantucket Island. She didn’t know that the super-wealthy, local resort owner had plans that would see her dreams shattered. Of course, the natural complication would be for them to find themselves attracted to each other and unable to resist going back for more.
The book's central feature is the relationship between Jade and Liam Haven, the resort owner. Still, the actions of the team who come together to try and save the bookshop from closure bring some much-needed fun and add a fabulous distraction to the story. My favourite was Jeremy, and I loved seeing his friendship with Liam develop beyond the professional one they started with.
This terrific story has something for everyone, and I highly recommend it. It perfectly balances romance and the fight to save the bookshop. I loved everything about it, and I hope you will take my recommendation and dive in.

This was a humorous grumpy-sunshine romance that massively appealed to the bookworm (and romantic) in me!
Bubbly Jade throws caution and parental disappointment to the wind and accepts a 3-month job managing a boardwalk bookstore in Nantucket. The only problem is, it's just been sold to the gorgeous, but exceedingly no-nonsense, owner of the neighbouring Haven Resort. Suddenly, Jade's opportunity of a lifetime turns into a battle to make it past the week, roping in a motley crew of townspeople, whilst battling against the steaming attraction between her and Liam. When one night turns into more, can business and pleasure be kept separate, and can either get past their prior struggles?
I adored Jade's chronic case of foot-in-mouth and how Liam responded. The push and pull between them was delicious, and they were joined by a cast of hilarious characters that enhanced the storyline even further.

This was the perfect summery romance and i finished it so quickly!
I adored Jade and Liam and wanted the best for them, Such a cosy lighthearted read, Can't wait for more!

Another fantastic summer read. It has all the right things that you need for the perfect read by the pool this summer. You will have a fab time by the time you finish reading

It had potential, but it wasn’t really my vibe. Normally I love an enemies to lovers trope, but this just didn’t do it justice. Jade was continually described as a blonde and it made her sound like that was all she was. Even Liam described her as that basically throughout the book, up until someone else describes her as that and then he had an issue.

A steamy romance set in Nantucket. Jade travels from her hometown of Twickenham to manage a book shop for three months.
I loved the way Jade Taylor accidentally steps onto the wrong boat and meets the wealthy owner of Haven Resort. Liam and Jade are immediately attracted to each other, but their romance does not go smoothly because Liam has just bought the bookshop where Jade will be working, and he wants to close the bookshop.
Jade tries to convince Liam not to close the bookshop. Jeremy is the assistant manager of Haven Resort and offers to help Jade understand Liam. Lots of twists and turns as Liam’s life story and secrets are revealed.
I loved the way Jeremy interacted with Jade and Liam and his humorous banter with his gay partner Leroy.
This fun romance was about families, workplace relationships and life on a small Island.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher #One More Chapter for a chance to review this E-Book. Opinions expressed are completely my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In fact, I finished it super fast. It had hilarious, relatable moments from the cast of interesting characters. It also touched upon many relevant topics like loyalty, integrity, overcoming the trauma left behind from childhood, family, and more. I especially liked how the two main characters made each other see the world in a different light. Each had to change the way they saw themselves and the illusion of how they interacted with the people around them On top of this, there is a steamy story of two people who are comfortable in their sexuality and who are forced to break down internal barriers to experience the relationship to its fullest. Props to the author who changed the narrative about women being comfortable in their sexuality and finding out that it's nothing to be ashamed of. Going to recommend this to many of my customers.

Thank you for letting me read and review this book on Netgalley.
Going into this book I thought I'd really love it but I felt like something was missing. It could be because I was in a reading slump and nothing was really hitting at the time.
What to expect:
- Small town
- Workplace romance
- Dual POV
- Boss x Employee
- Grumpy x Sunshine

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It had the perfect blend of lush description and quaint small town vibes mixed with well rounded and interesting characters. The description of Nantucket helped bring the story to life and I could easily imagine the resort and the bookshop. What I enjoyed the most was the fact that both Liam and Jade had a personality outside being the main love interest and their characters developed and grew throughout the book. Liam's backstory of growing up with nothing and working hard for wealth added a lot of depth, especially when it was revealed about his childhood bullies.. Even when he became arrogant and tunnel vision seeking revenge from all those who put him down I frustrated that he was oblivious to the situation, but I liked his change of attitude and emotional growth. The same with Jade, she isn't confident or self assured and I enjoyed the way that managing the bookshop helped her find her independence. The other side characters like Jeremy and Leroy were such fun additions to the story and how they seamlessly integrated into the main story of saving the bookshop, but also helping Jade and Liam develop as characters.
The writing style was easy to read and kept a good pace. I will say I did find the back and forth between Jade and Liam being friends and bickering did feel drawn out towards the end and I would have liked an epilogue just hinting at what the future had in store for all these characters.
Overall, I was hooked from the start and the lovers to enemies to friends was well written and was written at a pace that showed the progression of the budding romance.

A light read about Jade who moves to Nantucket Island to run a cute little bookshop. She meets Liam who seems emotionally unavailable and rich. He also ends up being her boss on her second day there. Bring in some heat and drama as he finds his emotions all while he tries to close the bookshop. Overall a light read with interesting characters, both the two main characters and the other characters.

When I read what the book was about, I had high hopes it could be a great beach read. I started it and as I read, I really tried to connect to the characters. Sadly, the only thing I could connect with was the location of the story. I have read other books by Kathryn Freeman and was hoping to add this to one of her books to enjoy.
Thank you NetGalley, Kathryn Freeman and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for the copy of Booked for Summer. This is my personal review.

Really enjoyable fun read. One of my favourites by this author. Cute storyline and just the right mix of romance and spice! An enjoyable read for summer and beyond!

The blurb for this book made it sound like something I was really going to love, and while elements of it did really work, overall it just didn't hit the right mark for me and ended up being a bit of a disappointment.
It started pretty early on, within the first 10% of the book to be exact, when a detailed sex scene between two characters I barely knew practically kicked off the story. I'm no prude, but it felt too much too soon and was fairly unnecessary for the plot of the story. It became clear that the emphasis was on the sexual chemistry between the two main characters, and while it was very well-written chemistry, the emotional connection between them felt like it suffered as a result.
This was further emphasised by the sheer number of miscommunications and misunderstandings that happened between Jade and Liam. The frequency with which they happened, and the fact that they were almost always over the same thing, made it feel really implausible that the two of them (with all of their respective baggage and trauma) would have been able to have a healthy relationship, let alone put the effort into chasing one.
There were parts of the book that I did enjoy - the sub-plot around saving the bookstore was fun and creative (I want to try a book speed dating experience). I also took great pleasure from reading Jeremy's character and that of Grandma Haven. They both served to provide some of the emotional depth that felt misconstrued between Liam and Jade, as well as some light relief and comic ingenuity in a story that was littered with personal trauma.
It was an easy enough story to read, and there was nothing inherently wrong with it - the romance just didn't connect for me in the way I'd hoped it would; it felt overshadowed by unnecessary plot drivers and spice.

ARC Review!!!
Thank you to NetGalley!
Jade traveled across the world to find something that's hers, something that she can be proud of in her and her family can be proud of. From England to Nantucket, she's off for 3 months to run a book store in the hope of accomplishing something she believes she needs to do. Little does she know that her book store is going to be bought out by the resort owner on the island and her 3 month long job turns into 2 weeks. Before knowing him as the resort owner, she knows him as a rich man, Liam. She starts fooling with him and it turns out at Liam connected the dots before Jade. Jade becomes hurt when she realizes the man she's potentially falling for is the new owner of the book store, resort owner, and he plans to knock the book store down.
Jade feels like she was once again used for her looks and body. Liam realizes that he's actually able to open up and fall for Jade, works at gaining her trust again. With weeks left on the island, they date and are dreading the inevitable of what will Jade do as her time comes to an end. Liam has offered Jade to stay and run the store but Jade wants Liam to tell her he loves her and asks her to stay. Such a conflicting Summer.
The story flowed nicely and I loved every character. It was very enjoyable. 4 starss!!
