Talulah "Lulah" Lazenby is a shy, introverted 20-something, who comes to life as DJ Lulah on a local radio station. One bad decision to engage in a one-night stand with the manager at the radio station leads her in a position where she loses the position as host at the stations top radio show after she rejects his continued propositions. Lulah files a complaint against her boss and is dreading the repercussions that may come as a result.
While wallowing in her predicament, Lulah decides to throw caution the wind and engage in another one-night stand with a handsome stranger she meets at a local bar. What could go wrong?! Apparently, everything. The handsome stranger, Tristan Bamfield, is the son of the owner of the radio station who has been sent into town to access the merits of her complaint. More importantly, the consensus from his father is that is to fire Lulah in order to quickly eliminate the issue. Tristan is only a couple of months from his ending a 4 year relationship and is re-accessing his view on love. His view on marriage is already at an all time low due to his own father's 4 failed marriages. What starts off as just a one-night stand, leads Tristan, against his own misgivings, to want more.
The chemistry between Lulah and Tristan was potent. The book progressed very quickly and sometimes that's just what you want. I do wish that there had been more time taken to work through Tristan's issues with his ex-girlfriend and brother, which is why I took away half a star. I love that though Lulah was shy and introverted, she stood up for herself, clearly expressed her wants and desires concerning her career and her relationship. This was a great little read. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I found the book to be enjoyable, although I did find it somewhat short and predictable.
The main characters, Lula and Tristan, were likable but not particularly memorable. Emily, another character, could have played a more significant role in the story.
I felt that more character development was needed to understand their motivations and personalities.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to someone looking for a quick and lighthearted romance story.

I was given this ACR by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was an enjoyable read. I would give it 4.5/5 stars if I had that as an option. The story starts off with a bang (literally) and you can’t help but get dragged into the storyline.
I loved the confidence and strong will of the main character as she went for what she wanted, everyone else’s opinions be damed. Majority of books of this type of genre always depict a scared, easily manipulated heroine and it was a nice change to see someone that takes no s**t.
As for the main male character, he was a little cocky but I liked that about him. His confident, in control of himself persona made him more relatable.
Overall the story is great if you’re looking for a sexy, lighthearted read. My only downside is I would have loved it to be a little longer. I would definitely read more work by this author in future.

Cute short story with a few spicy sex scenes. I enjoyed the main characters and as it was a short story there wasn't too much hanging around and waiting for things to happen!

Read this book in one sitting as it’s a nice and short one, found the book semi engaging, although the story line was well written it did feel rather rushed, was an average read to me.

Once I got over the fact I had to re read the first chapter, (The book dives straight in with meeting all the characters and the back story and for me personally, I found it hard to try and 'keep up'. That's just my brain though, so maybe other readers will be fine), I really enjoyed the book!
I'm a huge fan of dual point of views- makes things interesting and there were certainly laugh out loud moments. Tristan is a likeable character and Lu is someone I feel like I've known for years. The work setting was an added bonus for my kind of book trope.
Worth a read!

A short and sweet contemporary romance that would be a great break between denser or heavier reads! Fun and flirty, overall I enjoyed this one and would recommend for anyone who likes an office place romance or the instalove trope. Due to the length, we don't get much character growth, but the chemistry is definitely there. All of that being said, I think you have to meet this book where it is - you're not going to get lyrical prose or a deep epiphany in these pages, but it was entertaining!

Ok this was fun! Short and sweet and not overdrawn. Quick contemporary romance novel. I enjoyed it and will look for more of Christy's books.

LOOOOVE THIS BOOK! IT's so funny and the plot and storyline keep you in it. Would highly recommend. Great character development

Lula Lazenby is a DJ who’s accused her horrible boss of keeping her from a coveted hosting position because she won’t sleep with him.
Tristan Bamfield has recently broken up with his cheating girlfriend and was recruited by his dad to fire the employee of a radio show who’s been accused of showing up late and drunk to work. Little does he know that the woman he had an incredible one night stand with is the same employee he is tasked to fire.
I was intrigued with the synopsis of this book, and excited that the book took place in London and would satisfy the wanderlust I’ve been feeling lately. But the book left a lot to be desired.
Tristan has got a lot of baggage, which is understandable given how his relationship ended and how his girlfriend’s betrayal left him insecure. When he discovers that Lula is the same woman he slept with, he assumes that she sought him out in order to help her chances of keeping her job. He treats her horribly, insinuating that she is making false claims about her boss, Jez, who will only offer her the popular morning show if she sleeps with him. It was hard to get back on his side after that. Also, in the time of Me Too and with sexual harassment protocol in place in many companies, it seems a little hard to believe that he would make the rash decision of firing her without further investigating the allegation.
Once it comes to light that Jez had been embezzling money from the station and is not the upstanding guy he pretended to be, he is immediately fired. Tristan is left to take over as station manager until he can find a replacement and the first order of business is to ask Lula back to take over the morning show. I did like the creative way Tristan chose to apologize to Lula. It was very thoughtful and was a callback to things he remembered about her during their one night stand.
I liked Lula as a character. She wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted, and if she was, she still went for it anyway. She’s brave and kind and doesn’t allow herself to be a pushover.
Because the novel was short there wasn’t much of a journey when it came to the romance. There was a ton of chemistry, but I didn’t feel the love per se. There was definitely a lot of spice and it was an entertaining read for such a short novel.

The idea was there I just don't think it has been accomplish which is actually sad to be honest, the characters were fun but one id obsessed with marriage and the other one wasn't... So,,, Well it had everything to be good but it wasn't

I went in hoping to enjoy this because the premise seemed fun, but the execution was just not there.
Lula is bordering on delusion with her obsession with getting married and Tristan, while decent, overcomes his hangups way too quickly. I feel like his trauma is treated as a joke in this novel, which is quite offputting.
The spice was decent, but overall this book just felt like it was too rushed and the HEA was completely unearned.

Great book!!! Enjoyed the characters and the plot. It’s an easy read. Would read another book by this author.

This really wasn't for me unfortunately. It felt simultaneously a bit boring and rushed, I found myself skimming a lot of it because it felt too wordy and I really just didn't connect to the characters at all.

This was cute! A little short, but still very cute. I do think the ending was a littleeeee far fetched, with the MMC overcoming a lifetime of trauma around marriage and suddenly being open to getting married. I do get where it comes from, but still was a fast change up for like 200 pages. But this was still cute and I loved both characters. I kind of hated the MMC after the way he reacted when he realized who she was, but he had a pretty good grovel.

This book was cute but slow and wordy. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen. I ended the two main characters and their banter but didn’t need all the fluff in between

Thank you Netgalley for providing a copy in exchange of a review.
I will be honest, if I had to rate the story alone, it would be much lower. The cover and the description sounded like it would be something right up my alley between heavier reads, so I’m a bit disappointed that it didn’t completely deliver.
While the story was somewhat interesting and funny but the main characters I found unbearable. Spoilers ahead from here.
I think Lula was quite obsessed with getting married to someone who she has known for less than a month and giving him an ultimatum of either that or they cannot be together. She was also quick to just say she’s gonna move to the other side of the world, instead of talking things out like adult people are supposed to. And let’s not talk about how the only thing to placate her was that she got what she wanted without sacrificing anything, meanwhile Tristan had to change his whole perspective just to make her happy.
And Tristan… he got on my nerves. Lula clearly set up boundaries between them and he kept pushing and pushing, not respecting her wishes at all until he got what he wanted. But even knowing he’s not ready for any kind of commitment that Lula needed, he kept pursuing her just for the gain of having his own fun. And then proposing after a month of knowing each other? He went from commitment phobia to ready for the altar in 0.2 second and it was just… unrealistic.
Apart from all this, I liked the side characters, even if he didn’t see much of them.
End of spoilers.
The writing style was what saved this book to me. It was super easy to read, it was to the point and not filled with needless descriptions just to fill the pages (which is how my last read was, so this was super refreshing). The flow was also just right, with just enough intimate times that it didn’t make it too much. It was a short and easy read, I finished it in just a few hours so I added a couple stars for these elements.
So if you want a short, fun and quick romance, make sure to give this book a chance.

I really enjoyed this book.
I thought that it had a good and strong storyline and it was a well written story.
I liked the characters and their interaction too, it was great as a the book progressed.
This was a slow burn romance that starts with a misunderstanding.
It was a romantic and sexy story.
It is 4 stars from me for this one - highly recommended!

First of all- thank you to NetGalley for my ARC of this book!
Short synopsis: Radio DJ Lula Lazenby isn’t often lost for words, but this time she’s speechless! The man she just shared an exquisite one night with turns out to be her new boss…and his first job is to fire her!
I thought this one was short and sweet. I thought the storyline was just alright. If you are interested in a short, cute, spicy romance, then pick this one up!
3 stars!
