I really enjoyed this story - it was a very warm summer feel read. I would definitely recommend it as a beach read for friends and family.
I like that the book felt familiar - not overly predictable but there was comfort in the plot. I really enjoyed the start of the story where you meet the characters in Lisbon and the city was described so well and made you feel like you were really there with them! The pace of the story slowed as it went through but it didn't take from the story.
Would recommend!

Another amazing read from Paige Toon.
One of the things I love the most about Paige Toon’s books is you can tell how much research goes into them through how detailed her books are.
For instance, this book features landscape gardeners but Paige goes into detail about flowers which show just how much she invests in each book.
I love how there’s always depth to her characters and none of her stories ever feel repetitive.

I got this book from NetGallery.
Ash & Ellie meet in Lisbon, they are both interrailing alone. They have 3 wonderful days together and then she goes to her family in Algarve. They agree to meet after 1 week in Madrid, but he never came. Six years pass and she doesn't hear from him.
And then she meets him again and she finds out why he didn't came to Madrid. Will they get back together?
Conclusion:
Love the book!! The love between them bursts from the pages. I think they are really cute together.
It's not a sad story, the 6 years without him are summarized in a nutshell.
If you are looking for spice maybe this is not your book. It's a cute story but there is not much smuth in it.
At some parts it's cliche but other parts are more surprising. In the most romantic stories, the guy has to make an effort to win the girl back. In this book she is going after him. If you want to know if this book has a happy ending you should read it for yourself. ;)
Thank you for letting me read this book. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

A book about a love with obstacles
Ellie and Ash meet during an inter-rail holiday in Lisbon. They spend three incredible days together, have great feelings for each other that they have never felt before and arrange to meet in Madrid a week later because Ellie has to keep an appointment with her parents. Unfortunately, Ellie's train is delayed so she arrives late at the meeting point and doesn't find Ash.
Six years later, with Ash still unforgettable, Ellie starts her dream job as a gardener on an estate in Wales and hopes for a fresh start. Then Ash suddenly appears...
Paige Toon has written a perfect romance novel here, highly emotional and captivating, once you start, you can't put the book down.
It's also about legacy, family expectations and finding your own path.
I highly recommend this wonderful novel to all romance fans

Absolutely love this author so I couldn’t wait to delve straight into this book and it did not let me down. I loved it. This is definitely a book you will not be able to put down. Brilliant characters.

3.5*. Thank you NetGalley for approving this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I LOVE Paige Toon, I’d say she is in my top three favourite authors so it hurts to rate any of her books below 4 stars. I just felt that some parts were too face paced then others were too slow. Some parts needed more dialogue or exploring but then other parts dragging a little i.e. the start of part two 😩 Overall I’d recommend!

Paige has quickly become one of my favourite authors, and this book is a prime example of why. From the moment I picked it up, I was completely captivated. The story felt refreshingly unique, and the premise instantly sparked my interest. Paige managed to take a concept that could have been ordinary and turned it into something truly special.
Ellie and Ash are standout characters in their own right. Ellie is dynamic and relatable, with a strength that resonates deeply. Ash is equally compelling, bringing his own depth and complexity to the narrative. Together, their chemistry is electric – both heartwarming and tension-filled in the best ways. Their interactions felt real and unforced, which is a testament to Paige’s ability to craft believable relationships. Beyond their romance, I also adored the workplace friendships that were woven into the story. These relationships didn’t just serve as background noise; they played a vital role in enriching the plot and adding layers to the characters’ lives. It’s rare to find side characters so well-developed, and they brought a sense of community and warmth to the story.
One of the standout aspects of Paige’s writing is her ability to make readers feel. Every emotion, whether it’s joy, heartbreak, anticipation, or love, is palpable. She has a way of pulling you into the emotional core of the story, making you experience everything alongside the characters. I found myself fully immersed, often losing track of time as I read. The vivid descriptions and attention to detail made it easy to picture every scene. Whether it was a bustling office environment, a quiet, reflective moment, or an emotionally charged confrontation, everything came to life so vividly in my mind.
Paige’s storytelling is an experience. If you haven’t explored her works yet, you’re seriously missing out. This book has solidified her place on my must-read list, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next. Whether you’re a seasoned fan or new to her stories, this is a book that deserves your attention. Highly recommend diving into her world – you won’t regret it!

Paige Toon has a gift for crafting emotionally compelling love stories, and What If I Never Get Over You is no exception. From the very moment Ash and Ellie meet, their connection feels electric, drawing readers into a bond that is as instant as it is profound. Their story is beautifully complicated, brimming with tender moments, difficult choices, and a depth of feeling that resonates long after the final page.
One of the highlights of this novel is the setting, which Toon brings to life with vivid detail. Ellie’s work life adds a rich layer to the narrative, offering a realistic backdrop that grounds the whirlwind romance. The way the story moves between the personal and professional aspects of Ellie’s life creates a multifaceted character that is easy to root for.
While the journey of Ash and Ellie is captivating, the ending felt a bit rushed. After investing so deeply in their story, I found myself wishing for more time with them—more pages to linger in their world and explore the nuances of their relationship. Despite this, their story is one that will stay with me, a reminder of the enduring power of love and connection.
If you’re a fan of heartfelt romances that blend beauty with complexity, What If I Never Get Over You is a must-read. Paige Toon once again delivers a story that tugs at the heartstrings and leaves you longing for just one more chapter.

Ellie and Ash meet in Lisbon while they were both inter railing and spend a few magical days together . They plan to meet up again but circumstances and mixed connections mean they don’t reconnect for almost six years .
When they do meet again there are so many obstacles in their way, it seems their relationship is almost impossible. Ellie begins to doubt everything she believed Ash to be and struggles with deciding whether to follow her head or her heart.
You will have to read the book to see if they got their happy ending, but along the way a great setting, the wonderful characters, the friendships and the wonderful gardening references will really add to your enjoyment.
I was totally invested in Ellie and Ash’s story ,, and fans of romantic fiction will definitely appreciate this emotional rollercoaster book.

This is a rollercoaster of emotions that takes you from the sun-drenched streets of Lisbon to the sprawling estates of Wales. The story follows Ellie, a young woman who finds herself entangled in a whirlwind romance with Ash during her interrailing trip across Europe. Their connection is instant, intense, and, unfortunately, short-lived—or so it seems.
Six years later, Ellie's life has taken a turn for the peaceful as she works as a gardener on a grand estate. However, the tranquility is disrupted when Ash reappears, bringing with him a storm of unresolved feelings and a plot twist that could rival any Sarah J. Maas novel. Toon cleverly sprinkles references to Maas' books throughout the narrative, adding an extra layer of intrigue for us SJM fans.
In true Toon fashion, the book is filled with heartache, humor, and a love story that is as unpredictable as it is passionate. The SJM references are like the cherry on top of an already delicious literary sundae, providing an added treat for those in the know.
So, whether you're a die-hard fan of SJMs looking for a contemporary fix, or you're simply in the mood for a love story that will make you laugh, cry, and possibly throw the book across the room (in a good way), "What If I Never Get Over You" is the perfect read. Just be prepared to never get over it.

What If I Never Get Over You is another great, emotional read from Paige Toon. The two characters had me hooked from the very first page and I really enjoyed being swept along with their holiday romance in the first part of the book. Ellie and Ash meet whilst solo travelling around Europe and have an instant connection. The book follows them over the course of a few days when they first meet and again several years later when they meet again. I really enjoyed their character developments both together and individually and felt the story developed in a realistic way. This was a great romance that I felt completely immersed in. Another brilliant book by Paige Toon, I look forward to reading whatever she publishes next!

I was really excited to dive into this book after loving Paige Toon’s Only Love Can Hurt Like This. While this book was enjoyable and easy to read, it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
The chemistry between the characters was one of the highlights, and I found their connection engaging. However, the story felt a bit rushed in places, leaving some elements underdeveloped. Overall, it was a good read but lacked the emotional depth and impact I expected.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this!

Eleanor meets ash who she develops feelings for quickly when travelling but ends up losing contact with him
The storytelling is light and relatable, at times you truly feel for the characters and their emotional connections.
It touches on sensitive topics such as loss. However I did find that part 2 lacked the depth I loved so much in the first part and the plot felt rushed at times.
Overall it was a very sweet touching story of two unexpected lovers finding their way back to each other but I wished the emotional l depth of part 1 and three was in the middle of the story.
Any adult who enjoys a sweet romance story can pick this up and indulge in the storyline.

What If I Never Grt Over You is easily my favourite read of the year. It had me hooked from the first line where you get an instant connection between the main characters. With Paige Toon you know you will be guaranteed the most enjoyable roller coaster ride of emotions. She writes with great attention to emotions allowing the reader to deeply connects with the feelings of the characters. Conversations feel natural and genuine. I cherished the detail about locations, enjoying the unique features of Lisbon and the love given to the Welsh locations. I got swept away with the sense of hope Paige weaves into the story and my heart sang with the excitement of Ellie and Ash’s first days together. It’s a real page turner with deep emotional highs and lows. Paige Too has a real talent for leaving you feeling distraught and heartbroken with the characters. My chest ached for Ellie and her raw heartbreak.

Another fantastic read. The way Paige writes I could picture every character, place and scene of the book. Absolutely loved it.
Thank you Paige Toon, Random House Cornerstone and Netgalley for the ARC

I love this authors work, and her latest book certainly didn’t disappoint.
Here we have Ellie and Ash who bump into each other whilst inter-railing around Europe. They spend an amazing three days together and decide to meet up a week later. When circumstances stop that meeting from happen and with no way to contact each other they each move on with their lives. That is until six years later when fate bring them crashing back into each other lives.
Overall a great fast paced fun read. Recommend

Paige Toon can do no wrong!
She comes at us again, with another perfect summer read! What If I Never Get Over You was a wonderful distraction from the November frost for me, as I was transported on a dreamy trip to Lisbon where we first met our main characters. I instantly gelled with both Ellie and Ash and I was so keen to see where their meeting would take us!
This was a fast paced, exciting read, and I found myself wanting to come back for more every time I put it down. Ellie and Ash have tales of their own to tell, and when they open up to each other, and the reader, it gets you right in the feels!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this, and will look forward to seeing it around the pool and on the beach next summer as I’m certain this will be a perfect holiday read for all!
Thank you Netgalley, and Penguin Random House for an ARC in exchange for an open and honest review.

This felt like quintessential Holly Bourne. I loved the characters, the strength of the emotions in her books never fails to get me. Though nothing groundbreaking, it was a thoroughly enjoyable, well written, one sitting book.

Another enjoyable and emotional book from one of my go to authors.
Loved the Portugal and gardening and astronomy references alongside the Ash/Ellie storyline.

This was the first book that I've read by this author and it won't be the last. A lovely love story of Ellie and Ash who meet while inter-railing in Europe. This begins their story of lost love and trying to find a way back to each other.
