Nice little handbook by NetGalley for reviewers and content creators alike! I love how they include all platforms from Tiktok to Wordpress and Goodreads. The little do's and don'ts were a welcome bonus, along with all the tips added in between. Overall, it's a great tool for people navigating social media to post bookish content online and gain visibility.

If you're trying to figure out how to make your bookish content pop on social media without losing your mind, this handbook is a solid place to start. It’s packed with tailored tips for everything from Bookstagram’s picture-perfect feeds to the fast-paced chaos of BookTok; basically, the full social media book lover’s toolbox.

The advice goes beyond just “post pretty pics” or “use the right hashtags.” It dives into the why and how behind making your content accessible, authentic, and professional. There’s help with planning your content calendar (because who doesn’t need a little calendar therapy?), photo and content creation, and smart ways to share your reviews across different platforms.

Some parts might feel a bit outdated (algorithms move faster than we do), but that’s the nature of Social Media.

Overall, it’s an extremely helpful resource with practical tips that you can actually use to up your social media game, without reinventing the wheel every week.

Thank you Netgalley and We Are Bookish.

This handbook is exactly what I didn’t know I needed! Whether you’re a brand-new book reviewer trying to find your voice online or a casual content creator looking to get more organized, this guide is the perfect little companion.

I loved how approachable it was—friendly, well-designed, and filled with practical tips you can actually use right away. From Bookstagram to TikTok to Goodreads, it covers all the major platforms with advice that doesn’t feel overwhelming or “corporate.” It’s written like a helpful friend guiding you through the basics, with reminders that your voice and comfort matter most.

I'm not sure what you want me to say about this book. I am already doing most of the things mentioned in this book due to having a bookstagram account for two years now. It would be great for someone just starting a new account.

This is a high-level social media guide for book reviewers, but beyond that broad audience, I'm not really sure who this is for. It seems too basic for people familiar with social media but doesn't provide enough detail for the newbie. It's only 35 pages and graphics heavy, so there isn't much content, but it does look nice. It offers a single page focused on each major platform and then tips on general topics, such as using images.

I think it's purpose is mostly to encourage people to post on social media, and I think it does a fine job at that.

This handbook is great for anyone starting to get into book reviewing on social media. It has an informative overview of the different platforms available, and the bookish communities on these platforms. It also has some very useful information about how you should be posting reviews on social media (e.g. review courtesy, disclosing ARCs, how to take eye catching photos).

The Social Media Handbook is a perfect tool for reviewers just starting out, or those that need tips and tricks to help grow their audience! Having stepped away from reviewing for 3 years, reading this was a great way to catch up on how social media has changed and grown since I last wrote my blog. Highly recommend!

Thank you To NetGalley and Bookish. So glad they provide such helpful tips and tricks to their users. The handbook showcased multiple ways in which an avid reader who's fairly new to reviewing, like myself, or even a seasoned reviewer can utilize social media to showcase new books and authors. I think the information was really helpful in giving a better understanding of how to be able to utilize the different platforms available to build your audience as well as get an audience engaged with your book posts. Super helpful.

The Social Media Handbook was an easy read with “use now” tips + will serve as a great reference later. The information was well organized, accessible, and got straight to the point. When you want to dig deeper, you can link to the other resources provided. I was happy that the content was broken up and included suggestions specific to several (types) of social media.

I so appreciated NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook by We Are Bookish. I was thrilled to encounter the NetGalley titles, because, as a newbie here, there is a lot of information to process.

It gives a global overview on having a book related social media. The handbook offers a robust set of tips as well as alot of things that you will observe being thrown around posts on instagram and tiktok with advice for readers that want to dive into the social media. It is a good starting point but there is nothing revolutionary about the handbook.
