Lots of useful information; I'm not on most social media but I'm positive those sections will help others. Hoping to refer back to this when I start publishing on my own blog/website as those sections were most relevant to me.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a guide to a newcomer in the review world! This was very helpful to get started.

I love these NetGalley handbooks. They’re very helpful and well designed. The handbook also has a lot of great insight for reviewing books on multiple social media platforms.

This didn’t really have any information that I didn’t already know, but I still liked the resource a lot! It was clean, easy to follow, short and to-the-point, and hit all the relevant tips someone needs to start their bookish social media accounts.
Thanks NetGalley and We Are Bookish!

If like me, you love to read and review, but social media feels like language you don't understand, then this is the handbook for you.
It's full for lots of tips and tricks for a variety of platforms. Excellent for beginners, or to refresh your memory.

This social media handbook is such a great resource for anyone who is brand new to posting content on social media, and also as a refresh for those who are more experienced. For the past year, I've been focused on Instagram and Goodreads, but I'm finally ready to expand into Tiktok, so it was helpful to see platform-specific recommendations along with additional resources. Big thank you to the team at We Are Bookish for putting this together! <3

This is a helpful document with basic tips for how to cross-post your Netgalley reviews on social media. If you've already read the We Are Bookish blog or taken a course about social media marketing, there probably isn't a ton new for you in here. If you're a beginner, it will probably be very helpful! Thank you to Netgalley for providing this content, I appreciated getting the email with the link to it, although I think maybe it should be sent to new members sooner.

Book Review: NegGalley's Social Media Handbook
As an entrepreneur building a business with a strong digital presence, I found this handbook from NetGalley to be a useful and relevant resource. It’s designed with the book community in mind, but many of the strategies—especially around planning content, increasing accessibility, and maintaining authenticity—apply well beyond that.
The platform-specific guidance is clearly laid out and easy to follow. Whether you're posting on Instagram, experimenting with BookTok, or just trying to better organize your content calendar, there are practical takeaways throughout. I appreciated how approachable the tone was—friendly, not overwhelming—and how it encouraged personalization over perfection.
Some of the advice might already be familiar to those with social media experience, but having it all compiled in one place, with a bookish perspective, adds value. I’m already planning to apply parts of it, not just to my book reviews, but also to my online business.
A solid reference for anyone involved in the book world—and helpful, too, for entrepreneurs like me working to engage communities online in an authentic way.

This is a fantastic social media handbook given my Netgalley. Not only does this help with reviews on Netgalley but general social media whether it be for booksellers, librarians or just reviewers!

This is a perfect source for someone who is considering jumping into a new are of content creation. It actually got me eyeing up substack, could be fun!

I really want to utilise social media for my reviews but I have a demanding day job. This book has given me some really great hints and tips that will hopefully help me with the limited time I have. Thanks!

Loved this quick and to-the-point Social Media Handbook by the We Are Bookish team. Solid info, and as someone with marketing experience, let me say this is well put together! The information is solid and easy to implement. The goal for any NetGalley reviewer is to expand their reach from reviewing on a consumer platform like Amazon to social media platforms like Instagram or, in my case, Bluesky. The handbook also makes it a priority to let reviewers know they can utilize their social media profiles to maximize the reach of the reviews, which is a win-win for both authors and readers. Overall, this is a nice, comprehensive handbook that can be read in one sitting, but is invaluable for your role as a bookish book reviewer.

This was definitely a Social Media (New Creator Starter Pack) and it was helpful. I was looking for Does and Don't of posting ARC reviews on socials, and it was helpful. Do not share any quotes, since this isn't the final publication. I appreciate this being a resource being available.
Would be very helpful for very new people who don't know anything about the Book Social Media scene and want to give into it.

This is a very well-put together and thought out social media handbook. As someone who was worked in publicity and marketing for individuals as well as brands, it makes me wish I'd designed something similar to give to my clients about their industries! The content is reasonably up-to-date, as there is no mention of Bluesky, but Substack is listed. With the constant change in the social landscape especially micro communities like book influencing, this isn't really a fault, as many platforms like Bluesky are still emerging in form and function.
I am impressed with how evergreen the advice they do give on social medias like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube is. One mistake I've seen in guides like this is hyper-focusing on algorithm and trend advice that quickly grows stale and unusable. The individual checklist for each platform is helpful in its overview suggestions, keeping them fresh and allowing the user to research the best way to implement them with current trends. It also does a good job of suggesting both content differentiation for platforms and ways to make that content mutli-use.
Really, there's a surprising amount of depth here delivered with a graphic style that allows for easy visual digestion of all the information whether its about the retail space or photo tips. As I work to venture out into social media I know I'll come back to this for all my book content questions.

I am still up in the air if I want to increase my social media presence when it comes to reviewing books (starting a youtube channel/bookstagram). This handbook makes it easy and has a lot of tips and tricks. Really happy I have this to use for a reference when I decide to make that leap into being a book influencer.

As someone who has set up their own bookish social media accounts recently, this was a useful guide to gather tips and tricks on how to best utilise each platform. I was able to navigate to the relevant platforms to me and take what was needed. There are visual examples alongside the written tips which is great to see too.

A great handbook for different social media platforms. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to social media this is a great book to get you started or keep you going. Will most definitely be using this as a guide for my BookTok account!

This has helped me so much to set up my booktok. This is a good book to get in to reviewing of books and social media account.

This book provides a comprehensive overview of NetGalley, offering essential insights for newcomers. It serves as the perfect introduction to navigating the platform.
From platform overviews to a detailed list of dos and don'ts for each, along with guidance on how to effectively review and post reviews, this booklet offers a compact yet thorough overview.
However, reading it on the NetGalley Android app was occasionally disrupted by glitches affecting headlines and designs, though the main text remained mostly readable. Whether the issue lies with the app or the document itself isn't clear, but it's worth noting this was unique among my digital reads.
Overall, despite these technical hiccups, I rate it four stars because the content remained accessible and highly beneficial.

Great tips, I'm going to be referring back to this constantly. I've been toying with the idea of starting a bookstagram account purely so this is so helpful.
