Book 8 in the Kindled series (the final book in this series, but there will be a spin-off series)
We've seen them in all (or almost all) books in this series. Mack and Anna's story is here!!! And it's beautiful!
This story starts off with Anna heading into The Wild to find the cabin that Mack is holed up in. (If you want to know why, then read Homestead). Mack has changed from who he was before due to events from Homestead. Anna wants to help her old friend, and ex in any way she can. From here starts an achingly bewitching second-chance romance.
Now, I have to say that second-chance romances in general are not my favorite. But this was Mack and Anna for crying out loud! I knew Ms. Kent would knock another one out of the park, and she did. And I think I picked up on some interesting character(s) that showed up that would be fun if they are part of the future spin-off series. I'm crossing my fingers, but obviously, no spoilers here! I was honored with an ARC via NetGalley, however, as a HUGE fan of survival romances, especially Ms. Kent's I have already ordered both the paperback and hardback of this book- I mean I had to complete my collection, right?!. :)
If you love survival/post-apocalyptic romances, then this book (and series) is a MUST read. Even if you just love fantastically romantic stories then you won't go wrong with anything written by Claire Kent.

I’m one part sad this series is over, one part glad we finally get Mack and Anna’s story!
We’ve seen these two as excellent side characters throughout the series, and it’s finally their turn to shine. A decade after impact, Mack has reached his breaking point. He’s been the strong one, the one everyone can depend on, the one who helps everyone, but now he just needs some time to himself. Anna gets tired of waiting for him and seeks him out in the Wild.
It’s a forced proximity romance and it’s also a second chance romance, they’ve got some hurt and past traumas that are explored. They’ve also got a lot of passion between them and boy did they get passionate all over that cabin. I’m not sure I’ve ever read such a high banging to plot ratio! The whole series has been spicy so this is not a shock but dang.
I really enjoyed returning to this world.and getting to visit with past couples as well! Overall it was a very enjoyable and very spicy apocalyptic romance!

Read if you like: survival, post apocalyptic romance, violence, death, he saves her, she saves him, grumpy x sunshine, close proximity, sacrifice, gun fight, some angst, trauma, character development and relationship development
Beacon is the highly anticipated final book in the Kindled series (but can be read as a standalone). It was the perfect story to tie the series off 🥹
Mack and Anna have had an on and off, no strings attached relationship for years. After he retreats into the dangerous forest to live alone, Anna decides to find him to bring him back home.
This was a more emotional story, filled with character growth, trauma, acceptance, hurt and hard truths. We got more depth in this book than any other in the series, because of this, it became my favourite book by far. Their relationship development was so beautifully written, it was so healthy to see their dynamic become more balanced. I was just obsessed with the way they love and care for each other. That emotional but somehow sensual massage scene?? Oh my I was going 🥹🥵😭😫🔥
Also I loved getting glimpses of all the other couples and seeing their kids and where they’re all at 🥰
Thank you Claire Kent for such a wonderful ending. I am so attached to this series and highly recommend everyone to give it a go.

Thank you to Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op and Claire Kent for providing this book, with my honest review below.
The final book in the Kindled series, Beacon is worth the wait and a suitable series close for die hard fans of the series. Something about these books just draws the reader in, they’re highly addictive, and I enjoyed the look at Anna and Mack, who is especially beloved in the series. First and most important for any new readers, I highly recommend you start at book one if you have the option. While you can read this as a standalone the book resonates a bit more if you read through all the stories and especially if you understand what led Mack to isolate himself in the woods.
For all others, this book looks at what has happened to Mack when Anna retreats into the woods to find him. The couple get together with the expected conflicts that run rampant in the post Apocalyptic world. I won’t disclose more but you’ll get a chance to see how all the characters are doing ten years post impact, and I think you’ll be happy with the series close!

It’s been days since I’ve finished and I’m still thinking about Mack and Annie! As always with this author, I wish she would write male POV’s, but other than that this was actually really hot!

The final installment of my favorite post apocalyptic romance! I've been a fan of the world Claire Kent created since Last Light and continue to re-read all of her books in this series. From the beginning, Mac has been a fan favorite and consistent character in each book and the romance between him and Anna have been hinted at since Last Light. While I did enjoy it and gave it 5 stars, it didn't have the punch I was expecting...probably because it has been hyped up! I can't wait to re-read it and see if my love grows though.

my thoughts┊ahh i can’t believe it’s over! this series has been a staple for me since i first discovered it last year. it’s such a unique premise and adds a really fun element to romance!
i’ve loved every installment, and this final book is no different. anna and mack’s story has been in the works since the very beginning, and it feels so right ending the series with their story. this was everything i wanted from it and more!
i’ve loved both anna and mack as characters from their cameos in the previous books, and i really enjoyed getting to learn more about them. they’re so perfect for each other and i love how complex their relationship has been, and yet they still managed to get their happily ever after.
cannot wait for this to come out so i can add it to my collection! i remember reading that there might potentially be a spin off series, and i reaaaaaally hope it involves logan’s character 👀 i was very intrigued by him and i’d kill to read anything set in this world again!

I can always count on Claire Kent to provide me with a great story that keeps me turning the pages. Beacon is her latest book and it did not disappoint!

What a finale Kent gave us with Mack and Anna's long-awaited story. Nothing about this disappointed; it was warm, building and such a character-driven story but still strong on plot.
I did not expect Mack's characterisation to be what it was when Anna sought him out. He was cold, harsh and beyond reluctant. What was even more surprising was seeing Anna certain of herself and her feelings. This second chance post-apocalyptic romance had all the feels and fire. It felt hard fought without unnecessary angst.
We got time with side characters in this installment without any detraction from Anna and Mack. Eight books in and these various communities of Kindled are so important across the couples we've seen along the way.
I'm so sorry to see this series come to an end but comforted by the fact we're getting an inconnected community in this world soon. I'm excited to read more from this wider world Claire Kent is crafting.
Thank you to the author for the eARC.
