This is one of three books I’ve read in a row set in or with Italy as a theme! I received and ARC of this title via @netgalley.
The story follows the two narrators throughout, musician Carly and tour guide and vineyard owner Michelangelo.
The cover ties in really well with the storyline of this book, given the classic black dress and the standard outfit of orchestra members. Carly is a musician and is travelling with her orchestra on a tour in Italy. Throughout the story focuses on her performances, her relationships with the other musicians and singers and her other work opportunities. I believe this is inspired by the authors own musical background.
Michelangelo is masquerading as a tour guide in rider to save us family’s vineyard. Throughout the two week period he spends getting to know Carly there are times when neither is fully truthful with the other and that adds twists and turns into their getting to know each other
Carly checked her emails very often it was like a little crutch for something for her to be doing throughout and that annoyed me a little as it’s quite constant whenever she has downtime.
If you enjoy a read set in a foreign place and with musical tie ins I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading this of an afternoon.

DNF'd at 20% chapter 5. Where do I start? Reading the 5 chapters was pure agony. I'm not quite sure where all the 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from for this book. Did we get the same book to read? This book has so many cheesy clichés; I felt like I was getting beat over the head with them.
The insta-love was a big turn off for me as a reader. It was immediate too as in Michelangelo knew he wanted to make Carly fall in love with him within 30 minutes of meeting her. Um...no. Please no.
This has the potential to be a good RomCom if it has some major edits done to make it less clichéd and predictable. The descriptions of the characters need to be fleshed out more. I'm sure there has to be a way to describe Michelangelo other than "Italian hottie" over and over again. The romance part of the plot needs to be developed period. Where's the anticipation and the burning build up of chemistry between the two supposed love interests?
I know I only got 5 chapters into it but if the first 5 chapters are this bad I don't see the point of struggling my way through more of it. I read a lot of romance so I know when I come across one that just isn't going to work for me.
