As someone who navigates chronic illness and pain every single day -- and has done so for over a decade now -- a book on this topic was a very welcome relief. There were a few chapters where I felt especially seen, but for the most part, I sadly didn't connect. I think this was largely due to the age of the author, the examples used throughout (high school, college classes, etc), and simply the length of time with chronic pain over a number of life stages. I hesitate to say the author was too young to write this, because her story as it is today absolutely matters, but I do think it would have been so much stronger with another 5-10 years of life experience beyond college.
